I once had to deal with a person which changed his name by deed pol to Mr Elvis Presley.

Everytime I spoke to him on the phone, I had to put him on hold while I stopped laughing!

You know how when someone is on the phone, you say things like ok, um, yes, um etc just so they
know you are still there listening.

Well I decided that one day I would try to get in a "ah ha hu" and see if he noticed.
Well every time I spoke to him my sides were almost splitting with trying not to laugh, then
one day I did it. "Yes, ok, ah ha hu!"

I had stomach ache with the effort of trying not to laugh and he never even noticed! :D

When I was working for an Eye Doctor I got a call from a woman one day who had walked into a cardboard Pepsi advertisement and hit her eye, at Kentucky Fried chicken. She wanted to come in for an exam because she was trying to sue them.

Another place where I worked as a Optician had this room especially for kids. They had a basketball game in there. We had a mother sit her child in the basketball machine and he got stuck. We had to call the fire department to take him out. He was fine, the mother however got an earful from my boss. Good times.

i will never understand why it was stolen.

the call from this morning was because a new patient came in alone, but the new patient was a minor (teenager). i told his mom over the phone we couldn't treat him without the parent consent form being filled out.

i'm like "sorry lady for trying to keep things all kinds of legal!" lol

i was playing with a really large swift ((a lizard)) that our cat had caught and injured -- prayers for her, please, if anyone prays for lizards?
when this little guy started flitting around me and posing. he was not shy at all, and what a smile!
thought i'd share one of the better pictures with my family here, and this thread seems like a good enough place.

. . .
we really do have concern for the lizard.
she was lucid, though a little lackadaisical (they 'play dead' around predators sometimes, right?)
and though he clearly has two puncture wounds, i don't know how bad they are - they seem to have missed her lungs, thank God - so i have hope that she'll survive. she is really large for a swift, for our yard..
y'all think we're crazy hippies, and that's fine with us.

anyway, here she is -- and oh look! it turns out that post is a white guy, with sort-of calloused fingers, & he doesn't paint his nails lol

i used to get chewed about the HIPPA form. So many times I wanted to say, Okay, don't sign I'm going to tell everyone that you have cataracts and floaters and not get into trouble.

I've been accused of being a hippie a few times. That makes me happy. :)

I used to drive a Ford Festiva, it was very much a economy car. No radio or air conditioning or power windows or locks, but it got around really well, it was also a stick shift. Anyhow, someone broke into it. They smashed the window with a brick. They rummaged around, the only thing I had in there were maps and a quarter. They took nothing, not even the quarter. I guess after they broke in and saw how basic the car was they probably thought I needed the quarter more than them. I did have to pay for a new side window, or the deductible. That ticked me off.

Wow! What a great looking dog! I would be proud to own a dog like that.
You could change her name.

Her previous own changed her name to Sophie, we liked that name so we kept it. If she was named Ishtar when we adopted her then yep would have changed it. Ishtar, blah.
