Just in case someone wanted to see the orange marmalade cake...

Apparently I have a mouse that looks just like my wife as I seem to be out of chocolate... maybe I can put some chocolate chips on it.

Dark or white chips?

Which are you going to vote for?
I would add both give it a checkered look.

Good morning Groot.

Happy Friday everyone... and forget Valentine’s Day. This family doesn’t believe in such a “holiday“... especially when we will be trapped in 15+ inches of snow! 😳😳

Anyways, weather is getting colder and more fridged... and my allergies are hating me! Ugh.. stupid sinus headache 🤕 🙏🏻😔

I have been having nasal issues for months... chemo side effect :alien::oops::sick:;):unsure::alien: Very sneezy some mornings and post nasal drip all day long (ugh and ewwwww) and please plug your ears if mucous bothers you LOL because it gets literally thinly cemented in my nares, which has never happened before recently, and my nose is very sore on the insides and tender underneath from constant wiping and blowing  Which blows LOL.

And there's more!!!

My nasal issues turned into dry eye about two or three weeks ago. I was gobsmacked when someone told me that it what it was, because my eyes were watering like crazy and dripping like a leaky faucet for a couple of days at the time. That was after a few weeks of my eyes producing excessive amounts of "sand" while sleeping. Oh yes, fun boys and girls, sand cemented on my face all around my eyes. After two days of watering like that, the eyelids got all red and my right eye especially became tender to the touch, first on the inside corner and then on the outside corner, and finally swollen all over and hurting not even to touch it. Hurting so much I took an extra-strength Tylenol a couple of times for it, and I do not use pain meds lightly. I then got eye drops to keep them moistened but that was not enough, as I got a small cyst or something on the right upper eye lid between my lashes and the eyeball. The first couple of times of using the drops, especially the first night, my eyes were somewhat glued shut when I woke up in the morning LOL.

That was when I called the cancer agency about it, and they suggested a hot compress. Okay, a hot compress seemed like overkill on this smaller-than-a-pimple cyst (or whatever it was), so I used a Q-Tip drenched in hot water on the area and that cleared the cyst and swelling and redness and tenderness up! But the dry eye persisted, with my eyes watering and being dry and slightly irritated when not over-compensating by being watery.

A friend brought over some eye gel and eye ointment for me. I tried the ointment in my right eye the first night, and the next morning, there was no sand in that eye and no watering! The right eye has always been the worst, but that day the left eye only watered, so the next night, I used the ointment in both eyes, and it works well. You use it at night because the goop blurs your vision.

My daughter asked me how long chemo side effects will last, but I really don't know.

I could be half a year maybe? Double ugh.

What are you allergic to?

Valentine's day weekend...

And good morning to you too.
Oh ok good idea but how is the cake going to last that long before valentine's day without any slices missing. Unless you celebrate valentine's day early.

I have noticed that the shops here this year have forgotten about valentine's day. It hasn't been very popular here but we do get the shops come out with flowers, gifts and chocolates about four days before but this year nothing. Instead they have skipped straight to easter. All the easter eggs are out instead.

More on the chemo side effects... some of you perhaps know that my last of six sessions of post-op chemo, two weeks on and one week off, was cancelled due to the severe neuropathy I have been experiencing in the soles of my feet. They are not overly sensitive any more, but they are still peeling, especially my heels, though the soles of both feet have peeled. I discovered the other day, that the neuropathy has had another effect: I cannot tell when my feet are cold until I am laying in bed and feel my feet on other parts of my body, either foot on foot or against a leg, for instance. It is pretty chilly right now being winter with wind storms and occasional squalls of snow recently, and I almost always have a least one window open... so I have taken to wearing socks at all times just to be on the safe side. Right after I realized this, my feet did not warm up at all even after being in bed for a couple of hours :oops:o_O:rolleyes:o_O:oops:

Magenta I pray that the chemo effects you have been experiencing cease to exist and that you are restored to full health in the name of Jesus. That it is over and the chapter is closed and that health multiplies within you provided by the Spirit of Life.
