Wow, I need to start growing watermelons here, this is pricey. Either things are getting more ridiculous or there was a misprint?

Watermelon
- My favorite fruit..
---
It seems..'very expensive' in Australia.
I haven't checked the shops to see if this price is accurate but if it is, it seems ridiculous. I will check next time I go shopping which should be in the next few days. Moving is doing my head in o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

Remember it's a whole watermelon. It's probably only about $3.75/kg, but if it's an 8kg watermelon, there's your $30. Compared to most of the world, everything is more expensive in Australia.

I suppose but it still seems expensive
Moses, you are not supposed to bring common sense into this :)

Lol. I think the first time I saw watermelons advertised as each, rather than per kilogram, I was blown away. It was like $20 or something, but still expensive. But when I took into account how heavy they can be, and that they are normally sold per kilogram, that was the main reason for my price shock. This said, prices are going up. Also, I'm the conspiracy theorist, so if I'm sounding like common sense, the world has *really* changed!

I am a partial conspiracy theorist Mon- Fri and have the weekends off lol
Some of these you tube theories are "out there" but possible but many of them just haven't come to pass, so I waver as to whether I believe them or not.

As for the watermelon, they grow in the bush on the side of the road but I dont know if they are the edible ones or not? I think they are a bush melon of some sort.

Yeah. Part time conspiracy theorism is the best, as it allows one to associate with ordinary folk on occasion. I probably wouldn't be trying one of those bush melons myself, unless someone else tested it first (and survived for a reasonable period)! ;-)

Ok so I googled it. They are called paddy melons and the are classified as a weed and highly toxic :eek:o_Oo_O
No wonder they are just left alone all over the place

Didn't know you had "bush melons" there.
Everything is being "shaken" in these last of the last days, our best is ahead of us in and for eternity.
Air force survival test is to take a small bite and wait 1/2 hour.
