in high school lunch, we had several lines. of course, the best one was the pizza line because we got pizza hut lol lunch was meh for me. i had free lunch so i didn't complain about free food. juniors and seniors had open campus (can leave during lunch) but since i had no car, i was stuck on campus lol
I had my car there, but We were not given enough time to go get food and eat it....so I either ate in the car by myself on nice days or inside with the others...everyone was allowed outside on school campus during lunch though....I know one kid who went outside with only one shoe on...he used his shoe as collateral to get a pencil from a teacher and forgot to get his shoe....it was the middle of winter....

I went to a small high school we had three choices: hot entree, bring your own, or nothing. Quite a few times I would fit into the nothing category.
I typically brought my lunch....one of two who brought lunch...the rest ate there, and if you got there after everyone else, you barely had enough time to eat....

I was 5'-1" and weight 115 at the end of my 8th grade year. When I came back in the fall as a freshman, I was 5'-10" and weighed 175. What's more, I had always kept my hair cut in a butch cut in elementary and junior high. That summer I let it grow out and it was curly! Who'duh thunk? And my voice changed to a resonating baritone.

I had people coming up to me who had known me since first grade saying, "Hey, welcome to our school! I'm ______________."

"Yeah, I know. I'm Mike. Mike! Yes ... Really!!"

Took some convincing for them to believe me. I went from playing wingback and safety on the junior high team to being the starting fullback and middle linebacker on the high school team, and before the season was over, I had put on another 30 pounds and grown another 3". I couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time!

Man, I could block and tackle though!
i played football, I had no clue what I Was doing, I just did what I was told......"stand here and don't let anyone by you"
It apparently worked... He ended up making me goalie in soccer... " stand here and don't let anyone get the soccer ball past you, just like football"

If you could accomplish the latter part, then it was great coaching and good execution.

They called me the brickwall during football...no one got by me...the guy who got me into football was the gym teacher....he apparently saw potential in me even though I knew nothing about football....

There is a lot of science and math in sports....

Ugh high school! I recall this one little mean girl named Nancy, who always tried to embarrass me because I was taller than her. Shed giggle and jump behind me and say "Look Bobby! The nerd is tall and I'm hiding from you Bobby,...I'm hiding, isn't it funny!".....ugh...well obviously Miss Nancy didn't hide from Bobby long.....He got her pregnant!

I'm sorry to say this, but if you liked school lunches, there really might be something wrong with you.
Hahahaha!!! Well, we already know something's wrong with me anyway, so here goes.... ;)

I LOVED SCHOOL LUNCHES!!! I was so malnourished by the time I was placed in foster care, that anything served in the cafeteria was like a yummy feast to me. It wasn't uncommon for the other kids to pass to me their little plastic dishes of stewed prunes, carrots & peas, sliced beets, sauerkraut or whatever other "yucky" thing that was served that day. The kids would be like, "Ugh, how can she eat that?!" and I'd be like, "YUMMMMMY!!!! NON NOM NOM!!" Man, I honest to goodness still remember the smell of that elementary school cafeteria to this day! YAY FOOD! ROFL!!
