Yeah. She was arrested for doctor shopping about ten years ago. Agreed to go to drug court. Separated from my step dad and started going to church and went to AA and Celebrate Recovery. Over time, though, she had been evicted from the two homes she tried living on her own. Overtime she stopped going to church and AA and Celebrate Recovery, and keeping in touch with her sponsor and friends from church. I don't know when exactly this happened, as I had been at university from fall 2011 to last May. And have virtually spent the past 11 months trying to get my life moving. It seems overtime she has fallen away from Christ. Whether it's because of my sister's alcoholism and isolation from everyone, and the fact she can't see her grandson. Or maybe she has relapsed. I don't know. I know when I was a kid, my mom and step dad would fight all the time because they were both addicted. And my mom would always steal money for pills and such. This is the first I've heard of her stealing again.
(in my great psychological wisdom... )

sounds like she's self medicating, and people do that for all kinds of reasons and in many ways. :(

i'm so sorry. maybe missing your sister, and her grandson and missing you away at school?
NOT that you bear any of the blame; just spitballing.
because it also sounds like she doesn't want to move far from you? ♥

I know she misses my sister and nephew. Everyone does. I don't know why she would miss me now, though. I've been back home for 11 months. And has said herself she wouldn't want to move away from me because I'm the only family she has (even though that's her own doing). I don't know what goes through her head. And she just stops talking to people whenever confronted about something.

Sorry to hear about your mom, jsr. That is really tough stuff. I will put her on my prayer list too!

And Ellie, it is still sunny here, the end of a beautiful hot spring day. We pruned roses and are both covered in scratches, but the hedge looks so much better. Plus I finally got to do some watering, we really need rain. Just waiting for hubby to build my veggies boxes.

The grandkids came over for a few minutes. So glad we made the decision to live only 7 blocks from them. It breaks my heart the other two are 7 hours away. Skype doesn't cut it when it comes to holding grandbabies.

As for me, the best day in weeks. I found some old pain meds, and they seem to be doing the job. That means I'll be able to get off the other pain meds and lower the prednisone, too.

Church was great this morning. I'm looking forward to being back on my feet and really getting involved in ministry in the new church and in long term care. Please keep me in your prayers that the new med combo I'm applying for next Friday will get approved quickly and it will work!

Love you all!

i agree it's her own doing.
confrontation can be difficult when we already feel guilt over something.
we just hear that internal voice so loudly, we can't bear an external one, too,
even when we fail to recognize it consciously. :(

if you can think of any way i can help, other than praying, please, please ask?

Same here, if there is anything I can help with, let me know.
Praying for you.
It sounds like she really cares about you, you might be the only one who can get through to her. It will most likely be hard, but we are all praying for your family.

the skin itself is a beautiful piece of artwork. clear skin represents purity for most. why not let your character represent who you are instead of all these shallow aesthetics that trends tend suck people into.

i take great pleasure (perhaps too much? ) in reminding my son all about
the horrors of pregnancy, labor and delivery for him.
how hard i worked 'building' his skin, only for him to mar it. (pretend mad)

just for him to bring to remembrance on a daily how good God was to him?? lol

yeah...he laughs and pats my head. :)

Who are these "most" you speak of?

While I don't have a tattoo, I think it's kinda silly to call tattoo's "trends," as they have been around for thousands of years. Not sure you know the definition of "trend."

Tattoos in and of themselves are not evil.........so let no one go down that road..............K?

helloooooooooooooo friends :D did yous miss me?? lol
Melita, you keep asking this!! Of course we missed you! That is, if we were even here. LOL

I really do not like tattoes at all, I cannot lie. Strangely, my husband and grown children don't have them either. On the good side, no sagging pics on my skin as I age. On the bad side, I cannot share pics of my tats here!
