Well, we got the Bible (The perfect one) so now all the "doing" from God has ceased, along with the signs. Now we see face to face, FINALLY! Now we got no more debates, no more arguments, everyone has the same understanding, we see fully through the gla........ oh wait we dont got any of those things

Looks like The Bible wasnt "the perfect" which is to come mentioned in the Bible after all, I'll say its talking about JESUS. Because as much information as the Bible does give us, it DID NOT solve the problem of disunity and arguments!
Only Jesus will do that once He comes back one of these days.

Thats when y'all know I was right all along. I'll be telling everyone I TOLD YA SO!
you know it is very troubling because remember when Jesus Matthew 24 another Christ? They make the written word to replace the LIVING WORD!!! In John Chapter 1. our hope is not the Bible our hope is in Jesus.

what I wanna know from noose, is what are the GREATER miracles?

y'all keep talking about us thinking we think we can do miracles like Jesus but that is not what Jesus said

so, what are the GREATER miracles?

Jesus said GREATER

he did not say you will do the same...your question is not honest

GREATER miracles...let's have some according to you

you may not have the gift of tongues but you certainly excel at the gift of blab

you disagree with scripture

and again, you are so far left contextually speaking that you are in another time zone...literally...pre Acts

the Pharisees are not mentioned among the gifts

but I understand that is your filter for understanding the words of Christ and the teaching in the NT
What did Jesus mean by works?

listen

let me tell you why in even simpler terms, that you and others who try to state no one is doing greater miracles than Jesus is wrong

Jesus said GREATER miracles. what are the greater miracles? walking on water twice? raising the same dead person twice?

THEREFORE that is obviously not what Jesus meant in the sense you would wish us to understand it

kapeesh?

Jesus was not saying 'y'all gonna outdo me in the supernatural event category.'

which is what you have Him saying along with everyone else who interprets the 'greater works' as miracles beyond Jesus.

think about it

there is no allegorization in what was said. you don't even address what Jesus said about John....there is a similar pattern in the way Jesus has used the same type of terminology for two different applications. when you see that in scripture, PAY ATTENTION. it's not an accident and Jesus means something beyond the apparent and obvious thing being said. unless of course you believe Jesus contradicted Himself?
Whatever it is, it can not be speaking meaningless words and preaching another gospel. Thanks to the scripture, we know what Jesus meant by works:

John 9:
1As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

6After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7“Go,”he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

And He said several times, "..even if you don't believe in me, at least believe in the works themselves..". So from this statement, we know He was not talking about His words but His deeds (miracles).

Again, thanks to the scriptures we know the disciples did greater works in healing the sick/ driving out demons/ raising the dead/ many other miracles including breaking chains while singing is a cell.
But you want us to believe that greater works is sitting in a local church and speak meaningless words.

The one who was to come came:

Heb 10: 25not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. .....
36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37For, in just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.

Rom 13:11And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

The idea that you are going to wait in future to tell people how they were wrong is futility. Unless Paul lied (God forbid).

Oh yeah, when did he come Noose? I must have missed it. I see you listing Hebrews 10 and Romans 13 but they still put the coming emanate, yet future. So, when did He come? 70 AD, or before? Later? Paul's time was up the moment he died. The same as with the Apostles.

Oh goodness, I’m having flashbacks of the “Left Behind” series! Lol! :giggle:

Hey listen, we know His return is near but, it hasn’t happen yet.

Christ’s return is like a train, I can hear Him way off in the distance and I know He’s coming.....the sound of that train never leaves my ears - just gets louder. I’m busy getting ready!!!

As a mom, trying to get all my children dressed and ready, too! Cause there’s a train a coming.....and I don’t want to miss it!(y)

Let me guess: Its the Ad70 gimmick again? Oy vey!

The choice of words used in Heb 10 & Rom 13 can not in any way mean 21st century and counting but the life time of those received and read those letters (Romans & Hebrews).

When did He come? When the new covenant was ratified.

When was the new covenant ratified? At the exact moment these words were written:
Rev 14:
13Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

When was that? Not 70 AD but could be late 1st or early 2nd century.

That's what you have been told and it's not even close. His return is not an event and he doesn't return as a physical entity, He returns as the kingdom of God which started in the 1st century and is being built even today.

Your allegory is AMAZING to me.

How exactly does Jesus return? Tell us the timeline, whats going to happen next? This is interesting to me.

Nope. Flesh and blood do not inherit the kingdom of God.
Jesus' tomb was empty.......His flesh and blood put on immortality and inherited the Kingdom of God. We shall do the same.....our flesh and blood shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye. I don't have to understand the science of it but, I do know our physical bodies will die as seeds and a new body will come forth from the ground just like Jesus did.

The day was approaching for them that lived in the 1st century and they waited for the one who was to come. I choose to believe that the day came and the one who was to come came.

A little while by any standards can not mean 21st century and counting. Paul is not a liar and he didn't just give them false hopes.

And then of course:

Matt 10: 23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next. Truly I tell you, you will not reach all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

Jesus is now a life giving spirit, when will the life giving spirit come? He is and was and is to come the Almighty. This is the right description of His coming, meaning that throughout the church era starting in the first century, He has been coming into new believers until the determined number is achieved, then the end of age will come.

If you are waiting to see someone riding a cloud then you are in for a long wait:

Matt 26:
63But Jesus remained silent.
Then the high priest said to Him, “I charge You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God.”

64“You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

My advice, don't hold your breath, oy vey.
