Zone, I have been clear and concise in my presentation of understanding utilizing direct quotes from the Word with understanding from prayer and meditation for many decades.

Your posts are very glib and complete with varied images, animated and other, none of which lend any dignity whatsoever to the Word. That last one was a very nice painting, I must say, but it depicts nothing from the Word.

I see by your follower, you must have your coffee to follow all of this. That too is cute, so go have some more. Right now, I really do have work away from the PC, so perhaps you and your friends can work your stuff in my absence. Remember, Jesus is always aware of what is being done in His name or without Him...........

Wow, this is all in the Word? I do not think so. We are here because we believe the Bible in Yeshua. What are you following? This is totally off the track. Now, time for one of your followers to pipe in.
OK Jamie why can't you or anyone else explain this and how this all fits together if what you are saying is true? It is all within the council of God,the written word on which we are stand. Can you explain this? If not why not?

Are you sure you're not the one using your own interpretation? And how are you 100 % sure that things did not end yet?
Again Paul says they will end, people speaking in other languages appears to have ended after Acts 19,James changes the way we are to seek healing. And again outside of 1 Corinthians there is no mention of people speaking in other languages. Why don't the other apostles speak on it if it was to continue? If this was something for a doctrinal issue why the silence? See on the side that it was to continue is only based on Acts and 1 Corinthians, nothing else. All it is based on is a historical book within the context of how God was moving at that time and one passage outside of that and nothing else to support it. James is very clear that the way we are to seek healing is by going before the elders,be anoited with oil and pray. That also MUST fit within this. Why did James say that if the gift of healing was continuing on? Which ties in with Paul saying that people speaking in unknown languages would end. It is part of the whole council of God,you CAN NOT leave that out. So why did James imply that those gifts were ending?

I must get to my life and my work away from the PC. I keep seeing your posts demanding someone tell you why no one is mentioned as speaking in tongues from your decided cut off point and time limit for it.
None of the miracles since the Word was compiled as one Book are in the Word. God is not dead. Miracles never stopped. The gifts are until the age ends etc. It seems those who yearn for the product of their own imagnination reject this, but none of the gifts have cease, only faith is lacking.

That "angelic" language or "prayer language" is largely a pentecostalist invention.

Jamie,

But you can not find any where in the Bible that miracles continued on forever. There are many times and places where they stopped. The miracles that God did through Moses,Elijah,Elisha, all stopped, for over 400 years it appeared that God was silent after Malachi till John the baptist. You're the one that keeps saying they continued, but you never show they did continue on and you will not address the questions raised. I never said God was dead. Nor did ever say that He can not do miracles. And you have not address the one question that is at the heart of the whole matter IS THIS FROM GOD OR NOT and how do you know?

well, considering pagan peoples do exactly the same thing, maybe universalism is true, and that "pure" angelic language is the new normal.

apparently nobody is meant to understand anybody else though.

who knew?

UMM I thought we were to be united in truth and not error. All I want to know is How do they know it's from God in the first place? How do they confirm it? And how do they test that they are praising God and not cursing Jesus? I don't think that is too much to ask but I could be wrong.

Not worried about my credibility He knows my heart, and I always thought the greatest miracle He ever did,is that I am His.

1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
This is from the Word. I know of this by faith and experience. I did not invent this, neither did any one theology, it is from the Word.

People are quoting part of the Holy Scripture to justify their own personal non-Scriptural interpretation of the gifts.

Harsh accusation where do I find the gift of love in this statement?
It is written tongues is for self edification, but those who are hung up on their own false knowlege are saying it is uniquely, exclusively for non believers, and that is a lie, Satanic.
Self edification is a rebuke in the context of 1 Cor 14:4 since it is contrasted directly with edification of the church.
The gifts will cease come the new age, when what is now called time will cease. I have posted on this before.
Doesn't mean you are correct. Joel speaks of a latter rain in which the sign gifts to Israel will return. Implication that there will be period between the former and latter rain. Church age perhaps?
Prophecies will cease because this age will have ended.
Prophecies in the sense of future predictions because the apostolic necessity has ended.
Tongues will cease because (Zephaniah) God will give us a pure tongue, and there will be no foreign languages.
Tongues will cease when that which is perfect is come. 1 Cor 13:8
The gift of healing will cease when healing is no longer necessary.
Scripture does not say healing will cease. Problem is not with healing but with healers.
Ummmmm. It seems many here are truly hung up on their minds, not giving any heed to the Holy Spirit.
Hardly worthy of comment.
Your interpretations are your personal and intellectual approach utilizing part of the Word, without the correlation of it all as one teaching, the living Word brought to life by the Holy Spirit.
You assume this because it does not agree with your teaching?
Lying is not a virtue.
I know who is the father of the lie.
It is a pity the truth is glossed over without proper understanding.
Opinion not supported with any evidence.
Once more, all the gifts will cease when this age has ended and there is no longer need of them for the faithful, and yes, there are those who deliberately distort the Word.
No more valid the second time you say it than the first
Do not come back with just the Book of Acts on tongues, there is much more about tongues written, as in the quote below.........
Care to elaborate on Isa 28:11-12 and Deut 28:49?

Jamie, that is not the point of that passage, the point of the passage is that even though one could do those if one doesn't have love it is NOTHING.

What is not in the Word is the vein of new age theology appearing here. God is not dead. His power has never diminished, and I cannot bring myself to argue points of faith and glory with the likes of the unfounded declarations being made here.

God bless you with His light, that is if you have any idea His light is always availed to the faithful. Miracles will always occur, and I cannot give you the list that have occurred just for me alone. It is no wonder you do not believe the gifts are still with us, you do not believe miracles occur.l

When Jesus returns, will He find faith? I pray He does in me and all who call on His name in spirit and truth, amen.
