The scriptures speak for themselves as posted. Are there any apostles still around? Then that answers your question. Read the scriptures CAREFULLY.
Yes, they are, and you can't provide one that says the gifts of the Holy Spirit, or healing are not for today and for the believer.

What absolute piffle!

Acts 2v16-21,38,39, teaches us VERY clearly, that the baptism in the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit (1Cor 12v7-11) are available to the Body of Christ from the Daay of Pentecost, right through the age of grace, and right up until the Second Coming of Christ!

There is NO scripture that contradicts or reneges Acts 2v16-21,38,39!
Receipt of the Holy Ghost as a gift per Acts 2:38, but not the manifestations of the Spirit, gifts. Acts 2:38 relates only to the Spirit itself, it's indwelling, not the manifestation of it.

It is easy for one to say that healing and miracles don't happen when you base your experience on those who are on Youtube or TV. Or from one who has been hurt by those who abused the gifts. None more abused than the Pulpit and that of the office of Pastor.
Yet that gift is still for us today and greatly needed.

Thos who cry about where are all the Miracles and healing won't even pray for a person who is sick or evangelize their own hometown or any other for that matter. The feeding of the multitudes happens all the time, BUT we must see it as Jesus did it? I'm shocked those who want to see miracles did not throw the red flag Because Jesus took bread and fish from a boy INSTEAD of causing it to rain bead and have fish fall from the sky. Oh my.

Take it any way you like. You don't know what you're talking about. Goodbye
Just provide one verse that says miracles don't happen today?

Goodbye. You're wasting time. You should be out performing miracles and healing people and talking gibberish with your friends.

I don't have to do anything for you, yet you can't provide proof of one thing you do for the Lord but mock and scoff at others who do. That's ok :) I don't perform those things. Jesus said they follow them that Believe. You should try that sometime.
I suggest starting praying for the sick, sharing the Gospel message, or telling your testimony of How Jesus saved you. Great opportunities to see what you don't think happens anymore.

Your Silence is Golden -------WHY ----because ---the Gifts are Relevant for today -------I know this for a Fact as I have the Gift of Tongues ----

Why ------Cause God says SO ------

You just have no idea how to access the 9 Gifts ----

Your saying Jesus is dead and that means His Word is dead and so is the Holy Spirit dead in your way of thinking -------and that goes against what the Word ----Who is Jesus ----Says-----so Satan has you Hooked in your disbelief ----OH YE OF LITTLE FAITH -----

The 9 Gifts Glorify God and His Kingdom -----and they are very RELEVANT for today ----and are accessed with the Filling of the HOLY SPIRIT ------which give us the Power to Glorify God by performing the Gifts TODAY -

NOTICE ----it says When the HOLY SPIRIT comes On you ------

I say ------This word for------ comes upon ------in Greek MEANS ----the Holy Spirit Fills you with Power and Might ------the Holy Spirit is alive and active today FOLKS ------and Give us the Power and ability to preform all the 9 Gifts -----when God Wills it ------

Strong's Concordance
eperchomai: to come to or upon

Usage: I come to, arrive, come on, come upon, attack.

HELPS Word-studies
1904 epérxomai (from 1909 /epí, "on, fitting" and 2064/erxomai, "come") – properly, come upon, i.e. what comes and leaves its appropriate, inevitable effects that build on the particular coming. (Note the prefix epi, showing the action as the "epi-center" of what happens.)

1904/epérxomai ("come upon, apt-coming") stresses the "fitting results" of the coming even more than the initial impact of the coming itself.

of the Holy Spirit, descending and operating in one: Luke 1:35; Acts 1:8.

I say ----this is the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon one -----it is the infilling of the Holy Spirit giving ---Power and Might to one to access the gifts and preform them for God's Glory ---and to advance His Kingdom -----

The Holy Spirit is likened unto Water and when the water Stirs up and Flows ---it has Power and Might no one can stop it ------it will accomplish what God wants it to ----

If I said to you I will give you a gift but you must do something first before you can get it. You immediately start thinking, wow, wonder what I'm going to get? Will it be a car, or a TV, or boat, or ??? And what will I have to do?

Then I tell you what the deal is and what the gift is

The gift is not a car, or TV, or boat, but simply money. With that money, you can then get other gifts, like the car, or TV, or boat.

This is the meaning of Acts 2:38 and 1 Corinthians 12:8-10.

The money is the primary gift and once you have the money you can then obtain secondary gifts with or by it.

The money, the gift in this analogy is the Holy Ghost, the primary gift.

The car, TV, and boat are the secondary gifts, the spiritual gifts listed in 1 Cor 12:8-10.

And what you have to do to obtain the primary gift (the Holy Ghost), before you can get the secondary gifts (the spiritual gifts or manifestations of the spirit), is repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins, per Acts 2:38.

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
I kindly disagree with "And what you have to do to obtain the primary gift (the Holy Ghost), before you can get the secondary gifts (the spiritual gifts or manifestations of the spirit), is repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins, per Acts 2:38."

One thing I learned from the start is you need to ask for according to Luke 11:13 and then you never see after the gifts. He gives as He will. That being said the Father gives to all some use it that gift for the world some use it for God but you never seek after them. Its like signs and wonders.. they follow them that believe

You can disagree all you like. I'm looking at the words of scripture closely to ascertain meaning and truth as opposed to just forming an opinion based on nothing. The word in Acts 2:38 is "gift", singular, not gifts, plural.

And to your second point based on nothing, that's why the apostles prayed before laying their hands on people so that that MIGHT receive the Holy Spirit because it wasn't automatically manifested to everyone.

all must be seen in context to what Jesus said in John chapters 14 and 15 and What Jesus said in Acts 1:8

With you and In you. and come upon you 2:38 is speaking only of Salvation and obedience in water baptism. The gift of the Holy Spirit is HE becomes a resident IN the believer.

The op tells us in his bio that he does not know when he was saved. He writes 'unknown' for the response to the question when were you saved.

The Dunning-Kruger Effect Explained. Named after psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger, the Dunning-Kruger effect is a type of cognitive bias that causes people to overestimate their knowledge or ability, particularly in areas with which they have little to no experience.

And also illustrated by the op who believes he can shut down the Holy Spirit.

Also believes that baptism is necessary for salvation. ie baptismal regeneration

100% required for salvation as the scriptures clearly say.
1. Belief and faith
2. Confession of belief
3. Repentance
4. Baptism (immersion in water)

All the above are required for salvation when all pertinent scriptures are taken into consideration, as they should be, and not cherrypicked as many choose to do.
I guess one good error deserves another

Your understanding of this is not correct which is also giving you a false understanding of the gifts of the Holy Spirit which also means you cannot really understand most of the New Testament.

So DJT is a troll? I think I said that some time ago in this thread or another one.
