Polarberry have you had experience in spiritual warfare? I would caution you to be careful where you tread because yes while we have no need to fear the devil challenging him can open a door that may be very hard to close. The things of the spiritual are not like here it isn't the same as having a gun and shooting your target even if you have the faith and even if you know the words to speak there are things that can bypass that.

For instance, if say you challenge the devil or even a demon for that matter you are then giving them permission to attack you and God does not always deny it this is how many zealous believers bring upon themselves a massively horrible attack thinking themselves strong and ready to face any of the enemies attacks when in fact they were not. The fiery passion and desire to save and protect people from the enemies attacks is indeed a pure intention however if one attempts this without being properly prepared then they will greatly regret it. Though it is pure intentions remember that some of the worst and more horrific things in history were done with pure intentions.

You do not go into war having only part of half of your armor do you? And does the frog catch the fly by seeking it out or does it wait for the fly to come to him? Be careful not confuse your own belief of being ready and God's because we sometimes confuse our own voice with his and make rash decisions and when it comes to the spiritually things it's very dangerous. If you challenge satan you then are giving him permission to attack, if God has not lead you to do so then you open a door and it may be able to be closed the second you plead for God's help but sometimes it isn't that simple.

Remember that to be able to fight in spiritual warfare you need to be properly equipped and prepared and strong enough to do so but many forget that there is a difference between feeling strong and actually being strong. I admire your zeal but in your zeal you may throw caution to the wind, take from someone who has been in spiritual attacks this is not territory you can just waltz into

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

In the Greek text, it is "Behold I have given you the power..." The enemy is Satan, the one that will "fall as lightning from heaven onto the earth".

The serpents are the Kenites, the children of Satan, through his son Cain from the garden of Eden. The Scorpions are the fallen angels, that will be booted out of heaven onto the earth right along with Satan. Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." This next time takes place at the sixth trump, and we will see these fallen angels of Satan here on earth in our generation.

In the prior verses, Jesus had stated that "I send you out as sheep among the wolves."

Yet God will give those lambs that He sends out, power over all the wolves that come against them, but they must know how to attain that power and authority. It isn't valuable to them until they know how to use that power. Jesus gave His lambs "power over all your enemies." then Jesus said; "And nothing shall by any means hurt you."

If you say you're a Christian, and Jesus gave you a promise like that, how can you have any fear of any enemy that is on this earth?

You discover in Luke 21 that "not one hair on your head can be hurt", and just because you will be delivered up to death, which is the devil, to give an account of yourself, doesn't mean that you will die. But you will be given the opportunity to witness to the world and have the Holy Spirit of God by placing the words in your mouth and the thoughts in your mind.

UPDATED POST: Sorry wouldn't let me edit my first post.

Good Christians need to take action and either "try to teach" or "stand up" to Satan and devils. If good Christians don't take action, then Satan (the deceiver and enemy of good) will get away with it's clever deceit because of today's governing laws which allow freedom of speech and don't persecute Satan when it commits it's crafty evil deeds.

We cannot wait around for Jesus or God to carry out judgement, we must use what Christ has taught us and teach/save the lost sheep; and rid the world of evil spirits. Take action, save lives, protect the future of humanity from damnation or in science terms "a barbaric hellish Earth". How do we expect to God to take action to help us if we do not take action to help another? Or how do we expect God to get rid of evil spirits, if we do not take action ourselves to rid the evil spirits?

Good Christians must begin to take action and set an example of the evil ones who refuse to learn and continue to be evil. Setting this example will prevent future generations of evil from manifesting, but first remember to attempt at teaching them the ways of Christ and the beauty of Christ before taking other means of action. Remember only do what you are capable of within reasonable means and safety, do not endanger yourself or the lives of other good people.
The scripture says, "The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name." Exodus 15:3 KJV

Notice what is being said here. The LORD said He is a man of war, not us.
The only fight for the Believer is fight the good fight of faith.

Ephesians 5:11, "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them."

Ephesians 6:11-17, "Put on the whole armor of YHWH, that you may be able to stand against the wiles; (crafty ways, schemes), of the devil. For we wrestle not only against flesh and blood, but also against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual forces of the evil one in the heavens. Therefore, take up the whole armor of YHWH, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day; and having overcome all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your waist belted with the truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, And having shod your feet with the preparation of the message of peace; Above all, taking the shield of the faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of YHWH."
Exodus 15:3, “ יהוה is a man of battle, יהוה is His Name."

Amos 4:13, "For look, He who forms mountains, and creates the wind, and who declares to man what His thought is, and makes the morning darkness, and who treads the high places of the earth, יהוה Strength of hosts is His Name."

Joel 2:11, "And יהוה shall give forth His voice before His army, for His camp is very great, for mighty is the doer of His word. For the day of יהוה is great and very awesome, and who does bear it?"

Zeph 3:17 “ יהוה your Strength in your midst, is mighty to save. He rejoices over you with joy, He is silent in His love, He rejoices over you with singing.”

Isaiah 42:13, "יהוה goes forth like a mighty man. He stirs up ardour like a fighter. He cries out, yea, shout aloud. Over His enemies He shows Himself mighty."

Psalm 24:8, "Who is this Sovereign of esteem? יהוה strong and mighty, יהוה mighty in battle."

Psalm 144:1, “Blessed be יהוה my Rock, Who is teaching my hands for fighting, My fingers for battle.”

Psalm 24:7-10, "Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And let the Sovereign of esteem come in. Who is this Sovereign of esteem? יהוה strong and mighty, יהוה mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Even lift up, you everlasting doors! And let the Sovereign of esteem come in. Who is this Sovereign of esteem? יהוה of hosts, He is the Sovereign of esteem! Selah."

[h=1]James 2:14-26 teaches us that faith alone is not enough but we need to do works and take action. That means if we want a better Christian world and get rid of the evil in this world, we need to take action. We need to teach and save the lost sheep, and banish Satan when we are in power to do so safely, we should weigh out what we believe is safe and worth the effort.

We cannot wait around for Jesus or God to carry out judgement

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
(Isaiah 40:31)

not those who run in front of the LORD -- those who wait

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:
for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

(Romans 12:19)

For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

(John 5:22-23)

if all judgement belongs to the Son, for the express purpose that all men should honour the Son -- are you honouring the Son if you impatiently take it upon yourself to execute judgement?

you ignored me last time i responded to your thread; i don't mind, but i hope you don't ignore the scripture in this matter. i trust you won't, since you cared enough to make a thread. :)

Job held out against all Satan threw against him.
Job wasn't trying to establish some kind of Christian jihad, and he wasn't reading books about how to destroy angels. he didn't fail to mourn, or lament. he stood - believing God, and waiting for Him -- and the Lord answered Him.

[for me anyway] we withstand Satan by "resisting the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). But how? by doing what Christ tells us to do, that is to "resist not evil"! For it is not the Lord, but Satan that would have us to withstand and confront evil; but it is the Lord that will have us to take the wrong and forgive: against such Satan has no power over.

@posthuman: That verse on waiting for the Lord was teaching the lesson learnt from Jesus and the disciples fight against Satan. Jesus and the disciples were relentless and over-zealous of their fight towards Satan without anytime to rest or heal because they were so determined which lead them to grow tired and weak in flesh. That verse you quoted was the Bible's way of teaching us to not make that same mistake and to learn from Jesus' and the other disciple's mistakes, meaning that we need to rest and be healthy to fight Satan so we can continue to fight Satan until it is finally defeated.

@lastofall: Yes resisting Satan is the beginning parts of fighting back against Satan. It's like the beginning of you choosing a side, whether to be good or evil. Satan wants you to be evil, and God wants you to be good. By resisting Satan and it's temptations you are choosing to be on the good side. Once you are on the good side however, you must try and recruit/teach others to be on the good side as well, otherwise if evil wins we will be no more than beasts like cavemen.

yes

My soul waits for the Lord
More than the watchmen for the morning;
Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning.

(Psalm 130:6)
Psalm is the Old Testament, the Lord Jesus Christ already arrived. Jesus at the end of Revelation also corrects himself and says he is only a servant of God, and for us to worship God and God only.

there's no record of Job going after the bandits who killed his servants and took all his flocks.

instead he lamented, and said "
the Lord gave, and the Lord took away - praise the name of the Lord"
((Job 1:13-22))

But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (Jude 1:9)

If you try to stand up to Satan you will be eaten alive. It's best to let God fight this battle, a battle that He is sure to win. The only thing that is going to protect the future of humanity from damnation is the shed blood of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. The truth is I'm not all that worried about the future of humanity because I know how that is going to be played out. I'm more concerned about just getting through another day. I do believe in taking action to help others though but any help that is given is a result of God's love and probably not our intentions. We are just a vessel that we choose to allow God to use. If there is such a thing as a good Christian then there must be bad Christians too. Only God is truly good because God is love.

Did Job hold out? OR, did God preserve him?

Did Job never question, complain, cry out, or grow angry?

Was it Job? Or was it He who perfected his Faith who held out?

Did God have to call Job down? Did God have to have a wee talk with Job? did Job have to repent for his words?

Just saying............
Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.....Job knew his redeemer lived and with a new set of eyes after he had gone to the grave and rotted away would look upon that savior with his new set of eyes.............

In ALL this JOB SINNED NOT WITH HIS LIPS
