@Leastamongmany

I want to respond but not sure how to.
Your loss breaks my heart and fills me with pain.
I can't say I feel the pain you have.
I have not experienced what you have but I thought I would before my first child was born. I won't go into it.

I'm not sure if I can bring you comfort here.

The only comfort I think I can offer you is that if me and my wife knew you personally we would be with you and walk with you.

I'm not going to try a psychological analysis here.
But you have nothing to feel guilty about here.
You loved your son.
Sudden death brings around a range of emotions, those being what we did not say or do.

I pray the same as you.
I further pray that actually this thread can be a safe place for comfort and honesty without fear or condemnation, or rejection.

Jesus you came to heal the wounded the broken hearted and those whose experiences have bound them in chains.

I want to offer @Leastamongmany.

Holy Spirit, release and heal her of the guilt that she has.
May she know that the tears she sheds you catch every one of them.

Father bless you my prescious sister in Jesus.

Thank you so very very much Bill! I cried when I read this bc you recognize pain also. I Thank the Lord he was saved. He had a real bad problem with drugs for many yrs. When he got saved and sober he had the most loving heart I have ever known. I hear stories from ppl he helped on occasion and it touches me deeply. I miss him everyday,I had one girl,1 boy. He was 36 and left behind two teenagers. Please pray for them!

I agree that only God can answer this question. I lost my husband to suicide 13 years ago, my niece the following year. Only God knows the final moments and the heart of a person. This subject has to be handled very carefully as to not make it seem that it is a viable solution and God will understand. I have to go to the thought of what if......in a moment of absolute despair and loss, call it temporary insanity if you will, let's say someone suffered something absolutely unbearable and took their life in that moment of irrational thinking - are they condemned to hell or does God know their heart. I have always believed it was a one way ticket to hell until I lost people dear to me that I knew were trying to seek God and were starting their journey and then all of a sudden they were gone. It is a tool of Satan no doubt, but only God can judge anyone for any sin as to where they will spend eternity. We do not have the ability to see past the outward appearance. Only God Himself knows the thoughts and intent of one's heart so I just leave it to Him to decide who goes to Heaven or Hell. I apply this to all sins - and I will repeat we never know the last moments of someone's life.

You are so right,Michelle. The unanswerable question...why? I believe in a JUST and merciful God,one who knows everything. There is only His judgement in the end. He is a God of compassion which is why He sent His only Son to die for an ungrateful, sinful world. I trust He knows ALL things! I am sorry you too were left behind to wonder and feel the guilt of " If only I knew and could have done something". He is still here to bring us ALL comfort and show us His compassion!

What about the ones who have absolutely no choice in the matter? Such as the people stuck in the twin towers on 9/11, who chose to jump rather than be disintegrated with the buildings when they fell?

Edit: if I had been there that day, I would have jumped, because God knows my heart and He knows I wouldn't commit suicide unless there were no other choice.

We just have to trust in that fact Blue....God alone knows the heart! I have wondered what I would do in that situation also!

Thank you again for your kind words. Yes, He is all knowing and that in itself brings healing and comfort in the tragic loss due to suicide. It is not for me to know - that is God's business and He is well able to handle things Himself. Each case is different but oh the grief and problems it leaves behind for the survivors is at times unbearable. Sometimes we just have to leave it as God is Sovereign. Many blessings to you!

Here’s something alarming

India in 2018 reported 220481 suicides, China 138482
AND the bad deal about that...BASED upon religion or a lack thereof.....most of them, if not all are wishing they had not taken their lives.....10 to 1 odds.........

Samson was in a bad place....blinded by his enemies (The Philistines) and chained to two pillars in the temple to their god Dagon.....they were about to make sport with him and sacrifice him to their false god.....HE PRAYED for his strength back to do two things....

a. KILL himself
b. GET VENGEANCE on the Philistines

GOD answered his prayer request and NOT only did he pull the pillars down upon himself which was SUICIDE, he also killed 7000 Philistine Lords in the process....

HE makes the 11th chapter of Hebrews as a man of faith

We need to be careful when we judged those that commit suicide and or we need to be careful when we paint such an act into our own little box of belief......

DISCLAIMER-->NOT saying or implying that anyone should whack themselves..........just pointing out that there are biblical examples overlooked

Saul was another one....he was SORE wounded and FELL on his SWORD to keep from being taken by the Philistines.....and what of Masada? How many JEWS committed collective suicide instead of being taken and crucified by the Romans?

Many truths to ponder........!!!!!!

What part of ..."thou shall not kill"....is not understood?

Many references in scripture.
We may not take a life. Only G-d has that authority.

Please everyone do not be discouraged by " some" that would just come here and " run their mouth"! God wants us to uplift and encourage one another. Most of ALL He wants us to LOVE one another, and bear one another's burdens! Lord rebuke the naysayers that trouble this thread!

Speaking from personal experience with suicide, those who attempt it, and those who succeed, are not mentally sound. It is just my opinion that God will not judge a mentally/ emotionally diseased mind..

It takes a good deal of despair, depression, emotional, physical and mental maladies to even attempt suicide. I know this, because I have attempted it more than once, and I carry a good deal of all the symptoms I just mentioned.

IS this directed at me and my biblical comments.....? Because if it is......it shows a complete disregard for the truthful examples I gave from the bible which states what exactly????

I did read it.

Sorry if I got it wrong.
Wasn't saying you was suicidal.

My focus went to the post you made below

To this day, I'm finally processing things. I'm in therapy, trying to come to terms with her note (it was one sentence and written in 3rd person and very eery), trying to come to terms with her being gone.

In therapy.
Gotcha! I might have just been confused :)

Yes, this is something I still struggle with!

1Cor.3:16/17-Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dewlleth in you.
1Cor.6:19/20 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which ye have of God,and ye are not your own?
John 12:25
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

John 15:19
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 Corinthians 4:11
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; 12 And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: 13 Being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the off scouring of all things unto this day. 14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you."

Matthew 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:20
“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. 24 “But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. 26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

2 Corinthians 12:10
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Matthew 10:22
You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith

1 Thessalonians 3:7
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8 For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.

***

That feeling that you don't belong in this world, is because you don't belong TO this world. Paul wanted to move on, but chose to remain. God says above all perseverance is the key to the end. It's a war of attrition; With the benefit of knowing who wins in the end. May that be our strength in times of trial.

That is quite shocking and disturbing. NZ is almost equated with Paradise by many people. So what might be missing is a strong Christian presence or influence (and conversely a strong demonic presence). After all the Prime Minister of NZ was recently all broken up about an attack on Muslims in Christchurch, but never showed any outrage while Christians were being attacked daily by Muslims.
Its become a rich mans playground.

We were asked to pray about this last week (the youth suicides) . Yes it is disturbing. And demonic. We also have high rates of child abuse, peoole turn a blind eye to these things. For a country that has millions of sheep, but the people are like sheep without a shepherd and then vote wolves into power.

Sucide! How does God view the heart at such a time @dcontroversal stated that Damon killed himself, yes he did but what was the endgoal....to kill as many Philistines as he could! Those ppl who jumped from the Twin Towers to their deaths. I have seen the films, they never screamed nor flailed about. Was it bc it was their choice to die like they wanted rather than the enemy wanted. God's ways a far beyond our own conceptions!
