I see something else here

God Gave adam His Word, satan came along and gave eve and adam a different Word...they chose the other Guys word. "you will surely die" is what God said. and they chose to listen to the Lie " would will not surely die"

When Jesus is tempted satan also Uses Gods word Out of context to try to support His word. Jesus though responds as adam and eve should have....

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."

it is written...it is written...it is written.....<<< if we could learn to respond to temptation by Gods Word, satan has no power over us. after all....the Word of God is the Sword of the spirit the Only weapon in the armor to strike a blow to the enemy.

WOW Miri kudos to you for that insightfullness:D I never even considered how Jesus was tested in the exact same way as Adam and Eve It makes sense really as he is known as the second Adam right? I can certainly say from far to much experience that we are still tested in this way and sadly self control is my greatest weakness so I fail at least 90% of the time with my caffeine addiction Honestly if I can't get my fix I go insane and I have beaten myself up so many times over this.

Wow someone who got it. Lol

Question? Do you think we still ultimately tempted and tested in similar ways
to day?
Yes. I believe satan uses the same temptation over and over and over --- he just wraps each temptation a little differently each time.

I believe the temptation is:

You cannot rely on God and God's provision for you ... you must rely on yourself (what you see with your eyes, hear with your ears, smell with your nose, taste with your mouth, feel with your touch).

And I believe that when we wholly rely on God, what we see with our eyes, hear with our ears, smell with our nose, taste with our mouth, feel with our touch is much more enjoyable when shared in that wonderful fellowship with Father.

In other words, I believe our senses are gifts from God and nothing to be ashamed of. The shame comes when we turn from God to enjoy what we see, hear, smell, taste, touch on our own (selfishly and without the communion with Father).

I love the verse in Gen 2 where God brought everything to Adam to see what he would call them (vs 19). Just a delightful time of communion between Father and son. I believe God desires to have that relationship with each of His children.
