Am I the only one who sees the topic of this thread and has music play in their head?

"STOP, in the name of love. Before you break my heart."

"Stop. Collaborate and listen. Ice is back with a brand new invention..."

Just me?

Its not about treating people badly, its about rebuking them.
Again the bible gives a clear teaching on how the rebuking and reproving is to be done, back-biting, name calling, false allegations, and demeaning/belittling the person is not part of it.

Also as Paul showed if exhortation and esteeming of the person does not follow it was done in the wrong manner, and thus you are only placing judgment on others that you will actually face !!!

I've got two study bibles and two regular bibles (one hardcover the other a leather soft cover). I read every night for an hour maybe more. I check the cross-references and track passages back and forth. I've got concordance. What I don't have, is a church with a preacher that teaches it.
In finding a church ask the pastor/preacher a couple of questions:

1) Is Jesus the Son of God

2) Was He God come in the flesh

3) Does His teachings and commands apply to us

4) What is their stance on falling away or departing from the faith in Jesus

If the answer they give is no to the first 3, and those things in point 4 are impossible keep moving on to another church !!!

I have refrained from saying it for fear that I will name a particular denomination and get somebody all WARGARBBLLLL about it, but:

I've tried the Evangelical Free church (the very first e-free church in N. America) and found the sermons to be rehashing of current events, very little Biblical teaching, and the pastor to be overly friendly to the point of being phony

I've tried the Baptist church, and found it to be a "let's get people in the pews even if we have to water down the message to do it".

I've tried the Lutheran church and found a lot of the same as the Baptist church, but the pastor was, I think, drunk before taking the pulpit. No kidding.

I've tried attending Catholic Mass since my Dad's side of the family is Irish Catholic, and I simply don't agree with their beliefs. I think they deify Mary and the saints and thereby violate the 10 commandments. I don't agree with communion or sacrament, and I don't believe I need a priest to serve as intermediary between me and God.

Now, throw your tomatoes, folks.

There is no need to throw tomatoes at you for having bad experiences in your area.

I for one am Baptist and our church does not water down the gospel at all, and we are going through 1 Corinthians right now in the sermons.

He has been speaking on the issues that Paul addressed to this church, and showing that as believers we are not called to sit on our buts and be lazy. We are called to be active in the faith, and our pastor points that out directly !!!

As for Catholic church you are right about their teachings as I went to one for 5 years, and they do teach a number of things that do not align with the Word of God.

Also their 10 Commandments are not the same 10 mentioned in God's word, they omit the 2nd commandment of not bowing down to any engraving images and take the 10th commandment to not covet and break it into two !!!

It is my understanding that the 'sparkly' effect of 'beaming' on Star Trek was produced by aiming the camera through a small circular tank ( 12-18 inches in diameter, and about 6 inches deep ) containing glitter in water while the mixture was 'stirred' into motion --- and filmed --- and then, later overlay-edited into the scene...

:)
I could be wrong. I'm a Trekkie so have gobs of useless info rusting away in my brain anymore.

I don't know if everybody who has been in here will get this post but I want to deeply and sincerely apologize for an error that occured on one of the post...... I was trying to spell "shot" and somehow the "o" got replaced by an "i"...thank you Willie for pointing that out.... I want to first apologize to all the ladies that have come in here and had to see that, it was not my intention.. And to all the other folks if I offended anybody I sincerely apologize.. As a matter of fact I was talkin to someone on a private chat explaining it and the spell correct did it again when I spelled it out but I payed attention this time thanks to willie.... But I did want to offer my apologies...
See my "signature." Thankfully, I'm no lady, so didn't have a problem with it. (I was just worried about your biggest fear on here -- banned.)

Yes, I am very offended. I wouldn't say what you said even if I had a mouthful of it.

Kidding...I'm a former Marine, I grew up a cowhand in Wyoming, and I can swear up a storm. You made an honest mistake. Relax bud.
If you can swear up a storm then the next time there's a drought, they ought to call you. :)

We like to dream, but when asked to drop for 40, we quickly wake up. LOL

I once did a mile in less than 6 minutes with a field pack.... no more.
I once did a mile and that in itself was enough to appreciate cars. (Kidding. I'm not big on walking, but can do a mile... without lugging more than 20 pounds and in a mere 20 minutes.)

Ahhhh, thanks a bunch. Two weeks ago I heard that song by the Supremes in the car. It took a week to get it out of my head, just in time to hear it again, and have instant replay. That song is up there with "My bologna has a first name, it's OS-C-A-R" or "Hotdog, Armour Hotdogs. What kind of kids eat Armour Hotdogs?" Two songs I start playing in my head just to get other songs unstuck.

Is my age showing?

Sorry, I like tomatoes, so eat them.

But just to give you a heads up -- Baptist and Lutheran isn't enough to go on. Baptist run the complete gambit on beliefs. They can be conservative, liberal, God-fearing, humanistic, and everything in between. You really need to know which kind, since they've split often. Lutherans have done some splitting too. Kind of the reason I steered you toward which kinds of Presbys to avoid. We too run the gambit, but the full name of the denomination tells you the story -- if you know what it all means.
