These are the kinds of parents whose children spend years in counseling trying to undo the damage.
Wasnt it you that told my husband you dont have the courage to spread the gospel?
LOL
Yeah, its abusive to encourage people to walk their talk.

The word is the word. You cherry pick it so I dont take advice from you.
Talk about cherry-picking. You can't show me one verse in the bible that commands everyone to go witnessing. Just the opposite - everybody has a different gift to edify the body.

Whats abusive is to force sorrow on people. In fact the bible says it brings forth death.

I am not responsible for how you react to the truth. Accountability. I see you have a problem with that in more than one area.:)

I think many times witnessing is used as self-justification for not living the Christian life.

I find it interesting that you can't keep the discussion from becoming personal. I really don't wanna fight with you but you're kind of taking on a Church Universal and Triumphant got a corner on the market of Jesus sort of attitude. You don't know me and you can't make those kind of assumptions about me with any accuracy. You can try but it only shows a sort of dark corner in your own heart.

you know, HRFTD may not always be right ((none of us are)), and what he has to say is rarely popular, but he does speak from as much of the whole counsel of scripture as he understands, and doesn't disregard context. what else can we ask from any of us?

i do not share the 'heretic' opinion that others might have about him. the whole eternal security contention notwithstanding, if we did not have voices reminding us to be obedient, we might for all our zeal & joy be worthless ambassadors for Christ. i love him and he's encouraging to me -- whether you enjoy insulting me or not, i don't care, but please don't disparage him, especially without any cause other than your own cantankerousness.

the apostles frequently encourage us to live sanctified lives, and the reasons for this are both for our own good and for the sake of the witness and testimony our lives bear to the world.

The Christians in my life who weren't overt proselytizers, but who impressed me with the life they lived, made me hunger and thirst for what they had.

The witnessing crowd made me want to run away from Jesus.

Then I will post it here........

I said that I should be enjoying this, but I am not. You seem to need so much that you just won't let yourself receive.

When I was non-Christian, I just loved it when Christians who didn't seem to know what it was to follow Jesus would witness to me about Jesus.

While there are people who dont practice what they preach we are still called as Christians to spread the gospel. But if you hold to any standard for the church you are called a legalist these days. Catch 22.

Jesus is a surgeon and He operates on people the way they need to be. Some people can't get it thru their thick skulls that you don't use a sledgehammer for finish carpentry. Lol

Speaking of dark corners in your heart.....
why do you withhold the truth from the lost when you know that they are going to hell?

This is NEVER a discussion that people want to have when they do not go out and spread the good news! Its your own conscience that is convicting you . Im not doing it.
One would think this subject would be welcome amongst believers but it isnt. That is very disheartening.
You say you love people but not enough to tell them the truth. Alrighty then....

You see....you have no idea how I interact with people. You can only assume you do. Why would a believer think the worst of another person? I think I know why but you wouldn't get it if I told you.

We are called to support those who spread the gospel. It is a church function, not an individual one, unless of course someone feels led to do so.
