I don't know. What I do know is if I found myself in a similar circumstance where offended a whole bunch of people I would say something to the effect of. Hey ya'll, it wasn't my intention to lump everyone into one cart as if there are no other Christians out there but me who care about the lost and those who don't know Jesus. My intention was to communicate my own personal feelings and joy of winning hearts for my savior and maybe to light a fire in others to do the same. I am truly sorry if I alienated anyone or made them feel like I was the spiritual authority in their lives.

but that's just me I suppose.

Yeah I suppose Jesus and his apostles would agree with you on that!

I'd put her on ignore, but this is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Kind of fascinating...

You are a good man on the right spiritual path in your walk with the Lord. You set a good example for others to emulate and your behavior as a member of the community is exemplary.
I concur. He is a blessing.

are we are harvesters? Jesus says differently:

The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
(Matthew 13:39)

Probably thinking about this context

(John 4:35 [KJV])
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

(John 4:36 [KJV])
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

(John 4:37 [KJV])
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

(John 4:38 [KJV])
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

well, i was thinking about the context i quoted from, where Christ is explaining the parable of the Sower. where is the evangelist in that passage? the Lord is the Sower, not us -- and the angels are the reapers, not us (?) -- and the harvest is at the end of the age, not now (?).

John 4 is an interesting context too -- He tells them that He has sent them to harvest what they did not sow, and that the harvest is already ripe -- is this the same harvest as the parable of the sower?
but look at the immediate context of John 4 -- the disciples had gone into town looking for food (that they did not sow) while He reaped the 'spiritual food' of doing the Father's will, talking to the Samaritan woman. then when they returned, they found Him there talking to her, and He told them what you quoted to me -- then He went on teaching all the people from the town while the disciples also sat and listened to Him.
what did the disciples "reap" ? where did they do any 'evangelizing' in this context?
though, it's true, the Lord was there with them...

so, that wasn't the context quite that i was thinking about, but it is also feeding into my musing. and i am thinking that we probably describe some things in the wrong way, and misuse some passages of scripture sometimes :p

in re: the thread topic ((we do still have a thread topic other than bashing each other, right?)), did the disciples serve as witnesses, in their silence - as the Samaritans saw that
'look, here are some men who have given up everything to follow Him! let's listen to what He has to say, because these men seem convinced of Him' ?
because in John 4 i certainly don't see anyone evangelizing -- or planting seeds - other than Christ Himself. yet He said He had sent them to reap. they did return with earthly food, haha!

and how interesting that these are for all intents gentiles Christ is reaping! another thing our dear Peter might have remembered, but didn't sink in for him until later. so like us! he would not go and preach the gospel to a gentile household until after all this, and years later, when the Lord again gave him three visions specifically to do so!
when it was God's time for Peter to speak, the Spirit moved him. not Peter, but the One that lives inside Peter, and no human could have moved Peter to do so, no matter how sincere.

I understand what you are feeling, there was a time when the word Christian left a sour taste in my mouth and this is because in the bdf I saw what the general Christian is and it certainly isn't what we were taught to be. if you met most of these ppl face to face it's very likely you would not recognize them not because you don't know what they look like but because the way they would speak act and teach would be completely different. The interesting thing about an online forum is people tend to speak what is really in their hearts what they would not say to people face to face because there is security of being behind a computer screen.

At the same time though me being the glass is half full kind of person it is also kind of a blessing because we can see who ppl truly are we can read their hearts and sometimes even know them far better than if we knew them face to face. who you all see me as when I type the words I say the way I speak this is who I truly am because like everyone I am behind a computer screen but even so if you met me face to face you might notice I am more child like and more energetic than I appear here but that fire and that passion and the words I speak on here would still be the same

just hugs

Anyone can get their point across, it's how it's done that's the problem. Some Christians do not know how to treat the thoughts and opinions of others with respect. Humility is a quality sadly lacking in here - especially on this topic.

Jesus told his disciples to love one another "as I have loved you". The apostle Paul wrote in a similar way and showed the early Christians how to behave in his letters to the early church. Yet here we are with some of us behaving "holier than thou". No one gets is absolutely right, we are all learning - no matter how long we have been saved. Why can't we just learn from each other with humility and respect? Is it really SO MUCH to ask?

me jumping up and down

yeah yeah yeah!~

:)

Suzanna I am asking you one more time to please kindly back off, I don't care what you say to or about me I can take any heat thrown at me but when it comes to others I cannot and will not sit by and let you shoot them with your fiery arrows. Something you should know about me is while I may be very patient and caring I am also very protective even if it's a lost person who is evil in heart when they are attacked in an injustice manner I will stand for them.

I don't know if you have me on ignore or not because I sent you a pm and I don't know if you can do that with ppl who have you on ignore but either way this si the last chance I am giving you or I will report you and I have only reported one person in my entire time of being in cc so you really have to go far for me to do so. We as Christians are called to Love to be Love to see out of loves eyes to speak in love not point fingers not judge not mock and boast and make false accusations like you do.

I will not stand for your attacks and your condemning of others and if need be I will report you so i am only asking you one last time to please stop

If telling the lost about Jesus is controversial ,that is news to me!

Go ahead and report me. That is your choice. Thank you

listen...folks are not saying that to you

however, they ARE saying, that your delivery is like a cat of nine tails to the back

you hit me with that way back...I backed off cause I don't need the grief...

did you know God can get the results you say you want but without smacking everyone over the head with that massive family Bible I have mentioned several times now?

Thank you.

I told my wife that I expected that many on this forum would misunderstand the last sentence. And she said, "Most of the people on that forum will misunderstand the entire post." LOL (She's pretty perceptive.) We both agreed that about ten people would completely understand it.

I dont assume . I just repeated what came from the horses mouth. I dont care how long anyone has been here. It means nothing in the big picture. It doesnt make what I say any less valid.
Thats me being blunt

James 3:13-18
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
