And I will say, I do think things like this happens across the world.. I used to be a full cessacionalist. But people here have changed my view.. If God needs it to led people to christ, he will use it.

I also believe there will be a time in the future where 144000 jews will all speak in tongues s they go out to re-evangelise the world.
I have never said God cannot use it and even said MOST not ALL have turned it into a side show of fleshly outbursts........

Guys (and gals), if you can't discuss a topic civilly, stay out of the thread.

If you have issue with posts or conduct of a staff member, take it up with RoboOp rather than hashing it out publicly.

You mash up the scriptures in Isaiah something dreadful,

God is speaking to those who reject His grace. Who make the sabbath rest yet a day, rather than the day God gives spiritual rest to His people. The Spirit. In the Spirit, speaking in the Spirit, walking in Spirit. Spiritual people in His image for God is Spirit.

This is the sabbath rest of God:

9 To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? To children just weaned from milk? To those just taken from the breast?

10 For it is: "Do this and do that, do this and do that, Line upon line, line upon line, a little here, a little there."

11 Very well, then, by strange lips and foreign tongues the LORD will speak to this people

12 to whom he said, "This is the resting place, so give rest to the weary"' and "This is the place of repose"—but they would not listen.

13 So, then, the message from the LORD to them will become: "Do this and do that, do this and do that, line upon line, line upon line, a little here, a little there," so that they will go, but fall backward, and be injured, snared, and captured.

The sabbath rest of God when we cease the natural man and become Spirit.

.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
You say I mash up the scriptures in Isaiah something dreadful. I would think only because you are not interested in looking at the foundation of the doctrine of God as to what it has to say as a sign that confirms unbelief (no faith) in natural unconverted man . (sign seekers) Using the rest we do have when we do mix faith daily in what we do hear coming from God is exactly what the sign of unbelief points to. They had no daily rest from hearing the word of God but rather did whatsoever their own mouth brought as oral traditions of men making the word of God to no effect .or tutning things upside down removing the undersanding of God .

It would seem you are trying to turn the tongues doctrine into making it some sort of sabbath day once a week celebration as a another sign that sign seekers ?

Bottom line verse 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

The tongues that the 'snake handlers' sought and received by faith, are they also real?
God's Word says we are to ask for and shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. So many do exactly that.
In addition the Word cautions about speaking against the Holy Ghost:

"Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit." Mark 3:28-30

I went back and read those posts

it's always like that with the subject of tongues

no respect

it would be nice to be able to chat with others of like mind instead of dealing with people who jump on you and tell you that you either have a demon or you are wrong and then be given scripture that has nothing to even do with speaking in tongues
or be told that the perfect has come so tongues are no longer given

Are you receiving new prophecy that we could add to the rest of God's witness the Bible to man or has that possibility been sealed up with 7 seals as in we have the whole or the perfect? Do you have a new message as a private revelation that could add?

What's the thing about making a noise and using it to confirm something? How is that walking by faith? What does it confirm according to the law? Belief or unbelief?

People forget we are in communion with the Creator. He has given us gifts to help
us as expressions of His love and to help us exercise His ministry on earth and
one with another.

When His people reject His gifts something is wrong in their attitude and
understanding what being one with Him and desiring His will.

When you see people come to Christ and are filled and walking in rejoicing in Him,
this is a great sight. Too often the privilege we receive we find hard to believe and
honour, but that is what the cross means, and what an honour

My friend, you are so dismissive. Do you know how much God loves us?
Do you not believe in prophets and the gifts of the Spirit?

One needs to have an open heart and be willing to listen and share in Him.
I cannot speak for others, but the Lord is so gracious, I am not going to turn
down His gifts to help His body.
You're a false judge.

God revealed the truth to me about speaking in tongues. You should humble yourself and listen.

I experience gods power in many ways every day. I take offense that you or anyone else thinks I have to have some special manifestation of the spirit to experience Gods power.

That is the problem with many churches, they focus too much on certain things, and not enough on others. And think unless you have these things, something is wrong..
Exactly....the Holy Spirit points to and speaks of Christ...not of self....Any church that makes more to do of the Holy Spirit than Christ is suspect in the very least......It is clear...when the Comforter is come HE WILL TESTIFY OF CHRIST......NOT SELF and or "supposed" spiritual manifestations.....Jesus was clear....HE WILL NOT SPEAK OF HIMSELF.....

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into alltruth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Yeah they are afraid of satan

Thats why many are afraid of this. Satan comes as an angel of light. And we see in Jesus own words that people prophecy an do all kinds of things in jesus name, when it was in reality satan. Thats why using experiences to say you are saved is dangerou, you do not know if it is god or satan.
Amen....the truth trumps any and all experiences....Peter under inspiration said this when discussing the transfiguration.....we have a more sure word of prophecy.....

Your proposition is tongues are gibberish. Unfortunately for you this is not true.
I am speaking of the actual gift, not mans immitation.

This is the problem of just doing biblical study and being alone and not part of
the body of Christ. We believe God raises the dead, heals the sick, turns us from death
to life, yet speaking language of men by the Holy Spirit is a step too far?

You need to listen to the word of God and His people. People with no motive than to
bring glory to Jesus, testify to these experiences which do what is claimed. It is not
something we want, it is a gift. Churches who desire the extra ordinary without faith
can create something else, but God is greater than us, and His blessings and ways rule.
Your mistake my friend is to think we are not already humble, adoring and worshipping
our King. All His gifts are not something of pride but helps, not boasting but empowerment
in ministry. Thank you Jesus for you love, and your insight and your blessing of us your
people, Amen.

I gave many scriptures. Are you another one who doesn't care if what they say is truth or not?

you gave your biased and personal opinion

nothing more

but I have not read all your posts but I did see you being quite insulting to another member here

just like you are insulting me in what you say

you have no business to call me another one of anything or falsely try to state I don't care for the truth

there is a big difference between accusing and actually discussing. perhaps learn the difference

Now these are dangerous words. It is very obvious what is of God and what is not.
If it brings the fruit of the Spirit and proclaims Jesus came in flesh and died for our sins, it is of God.
Those who are born again are not scared of evil spirits because they flee from Jesus and His name.

The confusion comes from those who claim so much but have closed hearts and no reality.
Jesus Christ of Nazereth conquered death and sin, and is seated at the right hand of the Father in
Heaven. And at His Name every knee will bow, Amen.

You're a false judge.

God revealed the truth to me about speaking in tongues. You should humble yourself and listen.

and here is yet another example of your puffed estimation of yourself

a person should humble themself before you because God Himself revealed the truth to you?

that's pretty edgy. maybe don't mock those who believe God has not changed His way of giving of gifts to believers with so much enthusiasm

I have not seen on single person say humble yourself before me because I speak in tongues

so God Himself appears to you and speaks to you but only you and we should humble ourselves before you

can't make this stuff up

do you just dream up strange things to say?

1. who said anything about receiving new scripture? I would be totally against that. yet you try to make a case for your unbelief by stating false things...many many times..cause this is not the first thread about this subject and this is not your first attempt to try and dismiss everything taught in the NT concerning the gifts

2. do you have something factual concerning the op or are you just going to continue to operate in your default position of God just leaves things up to happenstance these days so do not expect any guidance from Him

3. oh you heard a noise? quiet on my end. maybe go check the cupboards. could be mice

A gift of the spirit is to be able to say
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth demons be quiet and leave this place.
It is strange because they have to obey, because they have no authority
over His people.

And even stranger those who claim that good works are what Jesus calls evil
doers are wrong. Evil doers are evil doers as the words describe.

But then who knows the authority these people have submitted themselves
to when they accept unbelief and rebellion as their way of faith, while claiming
to know Jesus. Dangerous stuff.

You are claiming to speak in tongues (God's word) that you misinterpret to begin with.. That would be to add to the whole word of God saying a made a noise to confirm something?
