I dont read much science fiction at all.
My major was in english literature, so it seemed to consist of lots of Shakespeare and victorian novels. But the authors always had a moral to the story, so even fiction is believeable to some extent.

I asked my workmate if she had read the Bible and she hadnt, so maybe its a challenge for her. Shes read Shantaram , which was 1000 pages. I told her the Bible was a great story. Maybe she will want to read it later if people keep asking her if shes read it but she has absolutely no clue what its about.

A challenge that rises above her .No one can come unless the father reveals the mysteries hidden from natural man in parables.

It is how it is written. . a mystery made known hid in parable. Which without parables the Spirit of Christ spoke not.

The parables need to be rightly divided or faithless men remain faithless .(2 Corinthians 4:18 )

Parable are designed to teach us how to walk by faith. . the eternal not seen. The literal historical as to what the eyes see .The two must be mixed or there is no gospel call by which we could enter his sabbath making our load lighter, Hebrew 4:1-3

Then that which is of natural man who thinks it is fictional . . . being revealed by God it become factual to them .

Prayer and offering to gospel (fasting) can drive out lying spirit from the god of this world. The truth will set a person free to do the will of our Father .

Or do you go the CS Lewis route and compromise and say well actually its a true myth.

I had this workmate who said this and it seems like she believes in science. But I then point out that there is science fiction which I dont believe at all. Maybe I should just leave it at that and only be worried if she starts pushing Scientology.

She’s pretty ignorant because archeologists have uses the bible in their scientific pursuits for decades if not a few centuries.

But if she has decided this, I wonder if she’s read it. Certainly her mind is closed. I wonder if she knows a better book on how to have a just and free society than “treat others as you’d like to be treated.” I debated with an atheist standing on no other religion or system of law suggests anything superior to those words of Jesus. He couldn’t come up with one.

well shes only in her 20s and she hasnt actually read it so she was just saying 'isnt the Bible fiction?' I think there was a bit of room for her to explore as I was like what? no way. Havnt you ever heard of a place called Israel? And there is all archeological evidence, but she just grew up not really having to ever pick up the Bible to read I guess.

Some schools ignore it completely, but I wonder if she ever sings the National anthem, or whether she thinks someone made it up and we arent actually asking God to defend New Zealand when we sing it, but just pretending to believe or something.

Natural man is dead in his tresspapases and sin without a living abiding hope and without God in this present life. Mankind under the god of this world .the lust of the flesh lust of the eye that works to provide a false pride is reckoned as having no faith . Not little, none. The starting point. The foundation of all the Pagan religions to include atheism What you see is what you get.

Its all about the faith of Christ the revealer of the will of God .the power that works in us to both will and perform his good pleasure. Christ cannot be found under a microscope or seen with a telescope

Since no man can know Christ after what the eyes see . They must look to defend their philosophy (no faith). Christian are given a suit of armor to protect that which protects us .

Colossians 2:8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments (dead) of the world, and not after Christ.

Colossians 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

Things not see the eternal .

People who say the bible is fiction, have not studied its texts properly. The bible has things in it that agree with science, the most interesting one is when Jesus talks about the two grinding at the mill and two on top of the rooftop. It shows different times in the world. Look at all the things Jesus said would happen at the end of days. Faith is something that has existed throughout time, and everyone uses it even God himself.
