What do you think a incorruptible new spirit is?
The Roman Catholics opened the coffins of dead people to decide if they were Saints. They thought that the lord protected some bodies from decomposition as a sign they were Saints.

God placed a with a flashing sword to guard and prevent anyone from re-entering The Garden
So was that angelic child with a flashy word sent to prevent anyone from re-entering the garden or does the flaming sword shine upon the two cheribums facing east so that those who are lost can find their way back into the garden?

So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Genesis 3:24

Now before the earth had had brought forth any plant or herb, the LORD God made man and planted a garden. And in the midst of that garden called Eden the LORD God made every tree that was pleasant to look upon and good for food to grow, the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil also.

Matthew 27:52-53 has always interested me as it doesn't seem to get much attention even though of its significance:

and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
They came out of the tombs after Jesus' resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

Who were these 'Holy People' and why were they raised from the dead? Was this part of a prophecy? I haven't seen much in regards to an explanation. Anyone have thoughts?
Jesus is the Resurrection and the LIFE. He who believed in Him, Yet he were dead shall HE live. Jesus not only raise from the Dead, HE led out of Captivity the captive. And set men free. What a powerful Testimony of the Resurrection Power of the Lord .

What do you have ? I may learn something ..
We don't get a bye into heaven like Adam had, Jesus is the way ,,, 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Yes, the OT Saints were being held in Paradise in comfort until Jesus finished His work on the cross ..
You could say that they were *potentially* in Paradise.

Many people have the mistaken idea that Abraham's Bosom in Sheol/Hades was Paradise. However we know from other Scriptures that Paradise is in the third heaven (God's Heaven), and in fact within the New Jerusalem. So it was only AFTER the resurrection of Christ that all the OT saints went to Paradise in the New Jerusalem, and became the spirits of just men made perfect (or both perfect and complete).

But they were not necessarily sleeping in Sheol. Their bodies (when buried) gave the appearance of sleep or repose (and sleep is a metaphor for death in the Bible), but as we know from Luke 16, those saints were very much awake and alive. And during the three days and three nights that Christ was in Sheol/Hades, they all heard Christ preach (or proclaim his victory) to the spirits in prison (both the righteous and unrighteous dead, and possibly the angels chained in Tartarus).

Some of these saints were undoubtedly given resurrection bodies after the resurrection of Christ, and walked about Jerusalem as stated in Scripture. We are not told how long they remained on earth, or whether they accompanied the Risen Lord to Heaven (which is more than likely)

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city [Jerusalem], and appeared unto many. (Mt 27:52,53)

He went to Sheol/Hades with Christ, then to Paradise after the resurrection of Christ. If that verse is punctuated differently it makes sense. I'm using the NKJV:

New King James Version
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you today, you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Note: The Greek did not have punctuations and paragraphs.

Lazarus was in Abraham's Bosom (the region ofthe righteous dead) which was a separate compartment in Sheol/Hades. He was waiting for the resurrection of Christ.

BTW, you could re-punctuate the KJV also, but it does not flow smoothly.

Was this before or after Jesus ascended into heaven ? I removed both the commas after ''unto him'' and ''unto thee''
43 And Jesus said unto him Verily I say unto thee To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
