The term "sinless perfection" has been used to describe entire sanctification in order to produce a straw man that is easily toppled by 1 John 1:8.

While the doctrine itself, does not purport that sin is eradicated from us, so that we might be without sin; but rather that sin, which indwells us as believers, can be rendered dead (Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24, Romans 7:8) so that it no longer has any say over our behaviour.

Thus the following verses,

1Jo 1:8, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1Jo 3:5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
1Jo 3:6, Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1Jo 3:7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jo 3:8, He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jo 3:9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.


are not in contradiction to each other as they are taken literally; for they are also found within the immediate context of each other.

Here are a few other verses that show that entire sanctification is a viable doctrine in holy scripture.

1Th 5:23, And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th 5:24, Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.


Heb 10:14, For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

1Jo 3:9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

These verses declare that the believer can indeed walk in consistent victory over sin in absolute freedom for an extended period of time.

Thus the heresy of "the inevitability of sin" is here refuted; and for those who desire it, the teaching that we can indeed be sanctified wholly will bring us to victory.

And, this is also good news to all those who have come to the same place in their hearts and minds that Paul spoke of in Romans 7:24.

Rom 7:24, O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

For in Romans 7:14-21, Paul is using the literary tactic of IDENTIFICATION; identifying himself as carnal in order to define carnality for his readers. He here becomes as weak in order to gain the weak (1 Corinthians 9:22).

In all reality the context bears out that in Romans 7:14-25 Paul is identifying the law of sin and death; and in Romans 8:2 he declares his victory over the law of sin and death.

If Paul were actually carnal when he wrote Romans 7:14-25, then he would not have been penning actual holy scripture. For it is written,

2Pe 1:20, Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21, For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.


Therefore in order for Paul to have been penning holy scripture, he had to be holy at the time.

I conclude that he was indeed using a literary tactic; in which he became as weak in order to win those who are weak (1 Corinthians 9:22).

His point?

That if anyone is truly born again and yet living a Romans 7:14-25 lifestyle, they will be discontented with such a lifestyle of sinning.

Therefore the doctrine of entire sanctification would indeed be good news to them.

Finally, the scriptures that I have given are divine promises; and in Romans 4:20-22 we find that righteousness is imputed to the one who believes in such divine promises that they will be accomplished in his or her life.

Rom 4:20, He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Rom 4:21, And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Rom 4:22, And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Rom 4:24, But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
Example: Being tempted=run away or pray to God to remove the thoughts of sin or replace the thoughts with Jesus Christ.
I assume less than 1% of the world's population are God's elect=Pray to God for all understanding

I think John Wesley missed it here in his theory of entire sanctification. Or course it is God's will that we are separate from the world. John Wesley's "second definite work of grace" in the bible is the baptism in the Holy Spirit for POWER. It seems he never understood that. Few did until the Azuza street revival.

Pray to God when about to be persecuted, you depend on God when weak. I really experience a small part of what Jesus felt in Garden of Gethsemane, when persecution=holidays=family gatherings come.

Holy Spirit has an affect of permanent cure to boredom. If you are one of God's elect and God has given you the Holy Spirit, you will know what I mean.

Nazarene Church preaches entire sanctification...

And Methodist churches also have their basis in Wesleyan theology.

But Methodist churches, I think, may have become more liberal over time.; although I am not certain of this as I do not generally attend them.

Jesus has a mystery and says "the seven lampstands are the seven churches"


Rev 1:20 “As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches

Jesus says He "walks among the seven golden lamp stands"

Rev 2:1“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this:

Now Jesus is saying He "has the Seven Spirits of God". We see where they come from and where they go.

Rev 3:1 “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

There is a door open in heaven and a Voice like a trumpet "Says Come Up Here"

Rev 4:1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.

After a reception of lightning and thunder Seven Lamps of Fire appear in front of the throne; and look what it says they are. Now the lamps that were on earth are before the throne, and do you remember what Jesus said the lamps were: that's right He said they were the churches; But now they are being called the Seven Spirits of God. And it just keeps getting better.

Rev 4:5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God

Let's do a little review: Jesus said that the seven golden lamps on earth are the churches. Then after a voice like the sound of trumpet says come up here, and after a reception of lightning and thunder coming out from the throne: now the seven lamps are in heaven, but now they are being called the Seven Spirit of God. So you can look at the previous verse to see that it's all true. But move forward is the greatest thing we could ever see. So now we know the Seven Spirits of God are the Seven Churches.

Rev 5:6 And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, that were sent out into all the earth.

So there we have it. The greatest thing one could ever imagine: Right there in the Head of the Lamb is Seven Eyes that are said to be the Seven Spirits of God that were sent out into ALL THE EARTH. So We are on The Throne Just As Jesus Promised We would be. Therefore, We are Raptured off of the Earth and seated on Our throne, Immediately before all the Murder and Mayhem begins.

Below is the Promise.

Rev 3:21-22 ‘He who overcomes, I will grant to Him to sit down with Me on My throne, just as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Dan 7:13“I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, One like a Son of Man was coming on the clouds of heaven. And He came up to be presented before the Ancient of Days.

People ask where the Rapture is in the old Testament. It's in the Little Book/Daniel where we see many aspects of Revelations.

Rev 3:22 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.’”

Very interesting. I believe this is also part of conservative mainstream Seventh-Day Adventist theology (which makes sense, many Adventists recognize Wesley as a pioneer of the Gospel). But it is also challenged in our churches by more liberal theologians.

I don't know anything about the Nazarene church 🤔 I'm going to look it up 🤓🧐

Oh wait. No. There are some major differences in the terms we use about sanctification, but I personally think that the final concepts are similar.

The point is, after the original regeneration and sanctification, do you keep being sanctified, do you think we keep growing in holiness during our life?
