Okay Angela, fair enough. I will repost with modern English. This will be in NKJV. I hope it helps. Thanks.

Angela, could you weigh the following scriptures without deducing Rev. 20:10 is nothing more than a memorial, like we have films of cleaning out the holocaust death camps. Somehow these scenes are preserved. File, tape or digitally, I am sure we don't need to give God an idea on how to store data. The same in Mark 9 where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched.

Now for Rev. 20:10 "The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

The last "are" in that sentence was added by translators for ease of reading. You could read "where the beast and false profit were cast." ESV uses "were." What happens when you toss a live person into fire, they die! Even Satan will not be tormented forever.

Eze. 28:14: "You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones." This establishes identity.

Eze. 28:18: "You defiled your sanctuaries By the multitude of your iniquities, By the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you."

Eze. 28:19: "All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever." This tells of the fate of Satan. Which is also the fate of those that reject the Holy Spirit anointing by the end of the judgement period.

You are the Greek expert, how do we parse Rev. 20:10 with Eze. 28:19?
I appreciate you putting it into readable English, although NKJV goes with the Byzantine text, which has so many additions. Not the best texts to use.

The other thing I am confused about, is do you know what “to parse” means? It means to take the grammar in a verse, and look at the parts of speech, noun and adjective cases, verb types, and how the prepositions, adverbs, conjunctions, particles fit together.

To my knowledge parsing has nothing to do with comparing a verse from the OT and the NT. Of course you can quote the OT in the NT, compare verses, but not grammatically.

I also think that Ezekiel is one of the most difficult books in the OT to understand, let alone compare, unless the words are identical.

FURTHER, although the word “are” might not be there in the Greek, it certainly is a legitimate practice to add it when it is frequently left out of the Greek.

Finally, I don’t hold with futurist eschatology. I think you are fusing texts together which probably don’t belong together. I will try and remember to look at these verses tomorrow after church, but I feel certain you will not agree with my conclusions!

you do not even know what it ia you say you believe
I know exactly what I believe.

Laugh it off if it makes you feel better.

someone sold you a hill beans guy,
I'm not the one who believes that when a person dies he isn't dead.

the doctrine of annihilationism is well documented .
Yes. And annihilationism is not universalism.

You should study more of the founders of this heresy .
We should all study the Bible.

Hell according to the scripture is a living suffering above ground . I think we could say it is the mark of Cain shown by the metaphor 666.

Cain.... no sabbath rest as a result of the lamb of God. No way in his unbelief to mix faith in what he did hear or see but rather killed the miss-perceived, outward competition... as in out of sight out of mind (no faith) as that comes from hearing God, therefore no rest in his works.

He said My punishment is greater than I can bear. One that only Christ could bear.

God made sure he finished all the suffering protecting him from men making the suffering of hell a lighter work .

Christ as our savioue as we are yoked with him he make the load lighter . we enter his rest and do not harden our hearts as did Cain

And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.Genesis 4

he who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit is saying If annihilationism was bible Then Jesus said something about Judas those who hold to this heresy can not address .

Matt 11: 20-24

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: 21Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. 23And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

clearly Jesus is saying something MORE will happen to the unrepented then that of Sodom at least that is what Jesus is saying. Now Sodom is no more, they exist no more, so what is it , what happen to Sodom more tolerable ?

Matt 26 :21-24

21And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? 23And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. 24The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

We no Judas hung himself and is that the context of what Jesus said "woe unto that man whom the Son of man is betrayed!". He hung himself and that is it Judas is no more.

Why would Jesus it Sodom was more tolerable what happen to them then what happens to the one who betrayed Christ ? I think fire and brimstone raining down on Sodom was terrible compared to hanging yourself.

Why did Jesus say that?

what did Jesus say about the coming judgement and hell ? this is what everyone should take as authoritative

Jesus’ teaching about an “eternal punishment” (Matt. 25:46),
Jesus called this place “the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matt. 25:41).

Jesus spoke of hell as “eternal fire” (Matt. 25:41) and “eternal punishment” (Matt. 25:46). In Matthew 25:46, the same word—eternal—is used to describe eternal life for the righteous and the eternal punishment of hell for the unrighteous. According to Jesus, hell will be eternal.

And Jesus is authoritative when HE is speaking . Jesus Knows all .

What other Biblical writings parallel what Jesus said ?
2 these, 1:9 "9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might
Jude 1:7 " In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

The issue is not if Hell is eternal or not the issue is what Jesus said is true or not

This is why annihilation doctrine is unbiblical and a foundational teaching of cults and other denominations with theological error . from JW, Mormons, and SDA and universalism .

Pride and conjecture and human reasoning is used to interpret scripture . And is done while ignoring the very words of Jesus.

When in doubt as to what is true ,the rule is for biblical interpretation for clear contextualization Jesus is the authority when HE is speaking . As you notice some will not adhere to this Normative of Biblical Understanding.

I leave it to you and prayer and the Words of our Lord.

amen .

the theory of ann... will do nothing but open a huge can of worms in hell.

depart from me? (Matthew 7:21-23) no way, I'm going to violently grab Jesus, bite him and drink the blood of eternal life

What do you want with us, Son of God?
“Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time? (Matthew 8:29)

not only will I go to hell, but I will drag God down to hell with me, hold on to God in hell, and compel God (knowing God's love) to convert my soul in hell, then I will be redeemed in hell, and I will be saved <-- there is no second chance at salvation, this is just pipe dream

Lazarus, Lazarus, why are you depriving that drop of water from my tongue

is the torment in hell evenly distributed? even if it is, it's far too extreme to feel it

there's hardly any self-control in hell. we'd be consumed in the present, the reflex of the flesh will be so all consuming, that we are compelled to feel torment and respond sinfully.

the desire for sin be very extreme?

"I will make sure to drown myself in hell, for all eternity, multiplied by degrees of intensity, just for the sake of committing even the smallest possible sin that can hypothetically exist, ..."

so yes, hell definitely exist.

I hate being born, why must I be born to this physical world in the first place?

and Judas Iscariot would have the same exact thoughts,

Jesus told Judas that hell is a place where one would regret ever be born

and it's more tolerable on Sodom, and it's more tolerable to have a huge grind stone hung around my neck than for me to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

This scripture is speaking of the judgment. The judgment is not a resurrection of all the dead just to condemn them and throw them into the lake of fire. The judgment is a period of time for those that never had a chance to live and serve Christ. Things will not be equal for everyone in the judgment. If you have seen much in this life, God will make it harder on you to walk uprightly during this time. Those that have already rejected the Holy Spirit anointing will be resurrected to damnation and Satan will lead them in rebellion against Jerusalem.

Trying to get people to serve God out of fear of hellfire will never perfect their walk with Christ. They have the wrong spirit driving them.

1 John 4:17-19 "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us."

you are right, but how do we get this better motive (pure motives) and even if we pursue this "pure motive" how can we make sure that pure motives is not pursued out of ulterior motives?

That is the job of the Holy Spirit, not ours. If you are just shooting for numbers, that isn't God's work.

you can't have the gospel without what Jesus saved us from. And I see no refute to the words of Jesus that would change the truth of HIS words about hell.

"it is" response hardly proof of the false doctrine of annihilation. And you did not provide any Biblical refute to what Jesus said I see you did not agree with Jesus on HIS staement of Hell eternal torment . Agsin Jesus is the authority on the subject of hell.

The Jews had a festival (holiday) which was the 8th day of the Feast of Tabernacles (tents or booths). This was a sacred, no servile work, holiday called The Last Great Day. This pictured the White throne Judgment period after the millennial reign of Christ on earth.

Jude 1:6, 7 “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Okay, the White Throne Judgement takes place on earth after the millennial reign on earth. All those that had never had a chance to serve Christ will have their chance here. This includes the infant son of David, all the stillborn, toddlers, mentally handicapped and they that lived in Mongolia 600 BC. God is not going to raise all the people that has ever lived, to pass judgement on them because they just did not make the cut.

I believe God's salvation plan will eventually include most humans. God is not losing the war for souls with Satan. Satan is a tool for us to overcome. What God is doing is purging the universe of evil. Remember a third of the angels decided to try evil along with Satan. Once done, that fixed their characters as evil.

The White Throne Judgement is not resurrecting people just to turn around and cast them into a lake of fire. Christ said broad is the road to destruction, but that is just the first death. Once the millennial reign ends, we will have accumulated six thousand years of world history under man's rule (influenced by evil spirits). We will also have a record of one thousand years of Christ as our king. The difference will be astounding.

Next, comes the Great White Throne Judgement. God will resurrect all the people that have ever lived that He hadn't given His Spirit to (most people). First thing it tells us, they will not remember their former life: Isa. 65:17 “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” I believe that this time of judgement will last 100 years based on the following scripture: Isa. 65:20 “There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.”

He will then pour out His Spirit upon all flesh (Joel 2:28). Then the little season Satan will be released for them to overcome for themselves. Even then some people will reject the good path, because they love darkness rather than light. This is not a second chance, those who received and rejected the Holy Spirit during this life will be resurrected to damnation. Those who choose evil along with the fallen angels will be destroyed in the lake of fire. No fiery torment forever.

The difference will be astounding.

you have seriously allergoized the word of God . Jesus said there well be eternal torment . And you error about Joel 2:28

That was fullfilled in Acts 2:4 And it was Peter who said "But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; " Acts 2:26.

Why are you innerjecting something the Bible does not say?

You really think that God has already poured His Spirit on all flesh? That statement Peter made in Acts was just the beginning of a much later event. Look around, today very few have God's Spirit.

Does not matter what I think, what matters is the context to what Peter said under the leading of The Holy Spirit. Peter said this is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel. I think Peter was an authority when he said it. it sound like to me you thinkmall will have the Holy Spirit in them? LOL hahahah you have bigger issue Biblically if you think that. But thank you for confriming even more error and false teaching with annilhilationist.

So EVERYONE receives eternal life? Hitler, Dahmer, etc. . . . whether eternal life with God or eternal life in hell that is EVERYONE receiving eternal life . . . I thought only those who believed in our Lord Jesus Christ received eternal life . . . I thought the wages of sin were death and that the GIFT of God is eternal life . . . . Everyone receives the GIFT of God - eternal life? Granted one is better than the other but BOTH are eternal life which also would not be the "second death".
