I'm sorry to make that comment public, Ember. I've already PM'd Sirk about this thread. I think it is counterproductive to what I thought we mostly agreed to -- all of us, you who supported my "How to ... " thread the last 30 hours or so.

I maybe should have PM'd you too, but I think this is an example of us being able to post things without thinking them through, and I have long, long been the most guilty of that exact thing on this board. Maybe instead of ignore buttons, we need a 10-minute delay before the post registers, so we can change our minds.

Hence, I've opened myself up and admitted to it. I actually hope that puts me under a microscope, because after posting a thread like that, God help me if I abandon the cause ever, much less early.

I don't want to sound pedantic, but the Bible actually speaks of foolish talking. Jesting is separate although it can definitely be foolish.

I'm not Judge Judy, that's for sure, but what concerns me more than what actually transpired here are some of the responses to it and not just on this thread either. It's like people are dying to attack each other and see them punished or banned. If any of you had three children and one of them did something wrong and the two other siblings came and reported the same to you with totally different motives for doing the same, would it make a difference? In other words, if one sibling reported it out of genuine concern and the other sibling reported it because they wanted that person to get in trouble, would it matter?

I don't know.

Maybe I should just shut up, but it seems to me that we have too many of the second type siblings on this forum and not enough of the first type.

Isnt the bible littered with the failings of men and God redeeming them? So now the focus is on my failing. Correct me, rebuke me...wherever that goes. I'm not gonna defend the post with my initial intentions. I've been accused of being too popular. Now I am unpopular and I'm okay with it. Let's learn something.

Actually, I think this thread is relevant, even if it was meant as a joke.

I posted three Scriptures on that thread, and never a peep from the OP. I guess he has me on ignore, but he could have just looked at the post and commented on it.

I was very disappointed that he obviously did not see my post, which was totally Scripture or chose to ignore it after saying he would comment on posts that had the Bible in them. He certainly had long posts for other people.

Good thing I generally have the other person on ignore. No sense wasting my time posting perfectly good Bible verses if the OP is not interesting in discussing them, when he specifically said he would.

We are just a bunch of wimps any more. I had Christianity try to teach me that I had to be sweet and nice and change my personality for 8 years. And it was miserable. It was a white knuckle ride. and I was about ready to leave christianity. Then a REAL pastor came around and taught " you are who you are by the grace of God." and the chains FELL off.

You hang in there Sirk. I have no problem calling a spade a spade.

If people would look instead of just see. respond instead of react........they would notice that it is the MESSAGE of the man that is being scrutinized, not the man. Jason just has everybody duped into thinking it is about HIM.

nah...straightforward actually works best for me... I agree about not insulting etc...but I also believe in not supporting certain doctrines...they are simply devilish and I do not see that as an attack whatsoever...

That is an outstanding question, one that deserves a well-thought out answer. And know, my friend, I intended to keep my PM between the two of us and not say anything on this thread, but I felt I had to reveal it in my comments to Ember, which are actually for all of us, including me.

I take the revelation I've received, one I am convinced is from God via the Holy Spirit, very seriously and if I'm going to take the stand, I can't just move on and ignore what I see as continuing examples of what is wrong with CC&F. If there are those out there who say, "Great, nothing worse than a self-centered extrovert with a holy cause," so be it.

Sirk, you happened to be the first I've actually done this with so strongly. I don't set myself up as a mod, or an admin, I'm not. But if we police ourselves, they won't have to, and maybe we can keep peace.

Amen, we all need to. I think some of what has been said to you here is unfair, and as Purged noted, "piling on."

If someone sees me violate the tenets I attempted so poorly to define yesterday, please do. I posted what I think we all know we need to do. Let's all take the responsibility. I'm not fireproof, but I might need to have my feet held to the fire every now and then.

okay.. let me give a lesson on respect.. You have to GIVE it to GET it. You're not respecting Jason with this thread. You're not helping him with his failings. You're just sitting here crowing over your own. Don't you think maybe he'd respect you more if you dealt with him, maybe one on one or something? I think that would yield far better results than this tacky thread will.

Thats all a probably can be is a hunch.

Patterns of things help to explain hunches a little better, however, they need to be tireless gathered and put forth and its not so important to do on this specific matter.

I can understand our feeling the same on a thing and yet at the same time possibly coming from a different angle on the same.
