Just curious. Why doesn't anyone think legalizing baby killing wasn't when America fell?

I had to laugh at this one. Apparently, Chicago had a 'Black Lives Matter' protest that conflicted with the 'Chicago Gay Pride Parade' and the two groups ended up fighting each other... lol.

HAHA! The "progressive" left just keeps on giving. I wish they'd stop being so "good" to us.

Black Lives Matter Protesters Disrupt Chicago Gay Pride Parade
Don't think the two groups are on the same side. After all, the sodomites lifted their "rights" based on slavery. They were never slaves, so angered backs already.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "morality," since slavery was an issue from the formation of the United States. Additionally, one could potentially view our rebellion against England as immoral since the bible tells us to honor our civil governments. And then, of course, there is the treatment of the native peoples at the hands of the American gov't.

When were we moral again?
When were you moral? When did you follow Christ precisely, exactly, without fault?

Or do you count yourself "moral" because you are a believer, covered by His blood, resurrected with Him to new life, which He now lives out in you?

It is by that same measure that this nation has acted morally -- not wholly as a nation, as even God's chosen people, Israel, did not uniformly do so. But the leaders and the people of this nation have generally been moral by the standard of Christ's sacrifice, imputed righteousness, and spiritual/moral leadership through the Holy Spirit.

As an aside, Peter plainly said that he was not required to follow a civil government that did not appeal to God as its authority (Acts 5:29). When a government shows itself to lack in that appeal to the ultimate Authority, the Christian is no longer bound to adhere to obedience to it, but must rather follow Christ.

Hard to believe, but America never made it into the Good Book, so it really isn't any thing special to God
There's been much buzz, for quite a number of years now, in smaller circles, who Babylon or the daughter of Babylon is in Jeremiah 50 and 51, Revelation 18, also in Isaiah 18. Note the Bible uses the ancient names of nations in prophecy, as they existed at the time of the prophets. There was a credible scholar named Richard Coombes, once affiliated with Moody Church, who held this view and did an exhaustive study of this you can surely find on the web, fascinating stuff.

Well I am no saint that's for sure but I rarely if ever think of judgement and doom and gloom, true enough I am not out in the word proclaiming the gospel boldly shouting repent and be saved the kingdom of God is at hand but my heart and my thoughts are always on him and his lost sheep and his wounded children.

I may not be able to boldly be out there doing this but what I can do is help and serve and love here on cc, even if it's something little if there is something I can do I am going to do it. Being a Christian to me is much more than simply being saved and goes far deeper than we usually think and believe as Christians. I made a promise to God when we first went into this that I would be strong and be love and only love for his sake and for all others, however making such a promise you have to mean it with every fiber of your soul and being. You have to be willing to accept the costs of such strength and love even if that means you suffer greatly and severely for his sake.

The way I see it if we are do not go all way and do not give it everything we have in faith in love and as a Christian then what is the point? I guess it would be much easier if I thought to myself I didn't need to be willing to go that far but if I don't go to such great and extreme lengths out of love for love and to be love then who will? I could assume that God will find another heart who would go to such lengths like that but there is no guarantee of this. There is coming a time where our hearts and our faith will truly be tested, where we will have to either put our money where out mouth is or not. That time is going to weed out the hearts that are truly after God's heart and the ones who seem to be but aren't. and one day perhaps one day soon I may be required to uphold my promise to him and if my promise to him was mere words or not. But even though I don't see myself or really know myself and even though I don't see myself as strong at all even I can look in my heart and know that when I made that promise not only did I mean it with every fiber of my being I know it is going to happen.

now that I think back to the beginning of my faith I grew strong in love and in the Lord very fast I didn't have any explanation as to why he was grooming me so deeply and so fast other than he must be preparing me for something and needs me to be strong for him for it. I didn't know if I believed what I said or not but if all this is going to go down that soon then maybe I was right.
Get over it! You're either a saint or a sinner, so, poof! You're a saint. :p

Just because a mantle feels uncomfortable doesn't make it any less a mantle given to you. Our job is to grow into it feeling comfortable. (No, I'm not there yet. Why do you ask? lol)

Sort of like the produce section of a supermarket, isn't it? So many fruits and vegetables to choose from. There needs to be a TV show, "Name That Sin!"

Haven't you also seen it said (myself a number of times) it's just Leviticus at any rate, not Christianity, that condemns homosexuality? Clearly, somebody never read Romans 1 to the end, for starters.
Yes, and they will go to great lengths to "prove" why Paul's use of the Greek arsenokoiteß (arsenokoites) in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10 is actually not a reference to homosexuals, when it is obvious from a competent lexical examination of the word that it can't possibly mean anything else.

It was always "legal" for the behavior (homosexuality). All the court did was make all the states recognized the marriage. Homosexuals will still practice homosexuality regardless of recognition. It sounds like you're just venting.
Actually, it used to be illegal in every state of the union and even every colony before they became states. Kind of why The Supremes created a new law. They skipped the Constitution all together to make this "law." (They also have no rights to make laws, but do it anyway. And the President of the United States has all rights to simply veto a SCOTUS ruling, which is long overdue to happen again.)

It is another cog in the machine, another brick in the wall. Yes, it started it. A solid building does not collapse. That requires a continuing structural weakening through poor maintenance, wrong-headed engineering decisions, and the right conditions. In these times when economies are supported only by smoke and mirrors, national jealousies and machinations are destabilizing international relations, and the moral fiber of the world is unraveling, the timing of this Court decision threatens more than any other time in U.S. history to topple the structure.

It doesn't really matter, as all she wrote is this,

Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

So, it's like, "Now, what part of vile affections, in the eyes of God, do we not understand? The vile part one would suspect?"

Rome fell because they became divided. United we stand, divided we fall.

The US will fall because we are divided. not because God will judge us for what a few men did, he may punish them, but he is not going to punish us he does not have to, we are punishing ourselves enough with our sin and the end result of that sin
If the US decided to take over Canada, Central America and South America, do you really think we'd ever be united? Do you honestly believe Europe and Asia Minor wanted to be Roman? They were conquered. AND they were conquered in a timely way, since Judea was under Roman law when the Messiah came.

Give much more credit to God and far less credit to countries. God is in complete control even when it doesn't feel like that and even when it hurts.

I see one of the big issues with this article you posted, and the main issue that glared out to me was this statement;

[h=4]"The Bible Does Not Teach a “Ceremonial Law” and a “Moral Law”[/h]
That is completely false as this person to come up with this statement obviously has never done a history of the bible study, and looked into the Torah and how the Jews placed the laws.

For the Jews list the 10 Commandment's both as God's moral laws, and also placed as written ordinances in the Mosaic laws with their earthly consequences for breaking them. This is what Hebrews 8:10 and 10:16 is referring to of the moral laws of God that will be placed in our heart and mind. Lord Jesus (Matthew 22:40) and Apostle Paul (Romans 13:9-11) both show in these passages that walking in love upholds those commandments as well as the others given by the Lord....

[h=1]1 Timothy 1:8-11[/h]8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully,9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers [e]and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

[h=1]Galatians 5:19-21[/h]19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The moment came for me in 1994. Cheering crowds lining streets as O.J. Simpson went down the freeway on a low speed police chase. The man had killed an innocent man, nearly cut the head off the mother of his children, and was now fleeing police. The shock of seeing the throngs cheering this murderer slapped me into the reality that the beloved USA of my youth was gone forever. I had no prior delusions that America was as pure as the wind driven snow, but I had always believed that we had a moral center, and was a shining example to the world how a society should conduct itself.

Over the yrs since then I saw times where I thought maybe we could get it back, like how we came together after 9/11. But I never fully got the sense that we repented as a nation and returned to a moral center. My heart is still heavy as we see the downward spiral we are currently in.
But I'm reminded of the book and movie The Lord of the Rings. In it there is a scene where Denethor the Steward of Gondor looks out from the walls of the city with great despair at the gathered evil orc army, and convinced they will be destroyed proceeds to kill himself. He did not believe in the only real hope they ever had, which was a hobbit dropping a ring in the fires of Mt. Doom.
We CANNOT be like Denether! We have a MUCH greater and more powerful hope in Jesus Christ than a hobbit. So take courage my brothers and sisters, and despair not. GREATER IS HE WHO LIVES IN YOU THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD!!!
Oh boy! It all came down to OJ and you alone know what happened that day? Oh boy.

Signing off on the conspiracy theory thread now.

Did you read his post, AWC? He was convinced not by his presumption O.J. was guilty. He was convinced by the behavior of the crowds, cheering a fugitive from the police.

No one was forcing mothers to abort, but we'll see if christian ministers and groups are forced to marry couples against their conscience or else.

Christian ministers should not have anything to worry about unless the government does away with two constitutional laws first;

Separation of Church and State

Freedom of Religion

Until those two get done away with legally they can not force Christian ministers to marry same sex couples.........................

The government of rome split into two parts. it became weak, and was defeated (although it really still stands today in democracy)

Just like our government is weak and we are split in two. we are disarming, infighting, and so "self righteous" that we will have the same occure to us.

Lenin said he would take over america without firing a shot. His own prophesy seems to be coming true (since obama is more of a socialist then a left wing fanatic)

It will also be restored to a much more powerful entity.

I am not taking credit away from God. Gods prophesies are coming true.

Seems to me those rights have already been seriously eroded. I know of a number of pastors who are ceasing to do marriages because their lawyers are saying the situation is too fluid.
