37 is a combination of 3 (Father, Word and Holy Ghost). 7 is the number for completion or perfection and the "seven spirits". 37 is the 12th prime number (12 apostles etc.). 37 reduces to 1 (3 + 7 = 10 and 1 + 0 = 1)

37 reduces to 1; 74 reduces to 2; 111 reduces to 3; 148 reduces to 4 and the pattern goes to infinity as far as I know if you count by 37's
Who counts by 37s? I didn't even learn my 37s when I was doing the times tables in school. Keep it simple and stick to the 1-12s! :p

Wow! Gematria for KJVOnlyism! Something new for me!

Now, I didn’t check the math, but I am sure PostHuman could tear large holes in it!

Or more likely psychosis. This is typical of schizophrenic delusions. I don't say this to criticize the OP, but to warn others when you start seeing patterns where there are no patterns, you are treading on dangerous soil.

As for you Maxwel, when people like this come into the forum, citing these nonsense numerical patterns prove the KJV is the only true inspired English version, there really is no defense necessary.

If someone wants to read Early Modern English as their favoured translation, I have no problem. But when they pull us through the looking glass, and the mad Queen is ready to cut off our heads, well, then it is time to take these people in hand, who actually disgrace the vital and living truths of the Bible, and turn them into a gambling show or numbers game!

If you count 37 18 times you have 666 and thus some wisdom according to Revelation 13:18

From John Ankerburg...

"There are even a few significant differences between the 1611 edition and our modern version. In 1611, the King James Version had “Then cometh Judas” in Matthew 26:36. Today it is rendered in the King James Version as, “Then cometh Jesus.” Wouldn’t everyone agree this is a rather significant difference? There were also a few embarrassing printing errors. The 1613 printing omitted the word “not” from the seventh commandment, inadvertently “encouraging” people to commit adultery. This King James edition became known as the “Wicked Bible.” Another printing of the King James Version became known as the “Unrighteous Bible” because it stated that the unrighteous will inherit the kingdom of heaven. And a few printing errors continue to occur in the King James Version and other versions today.

If God has preserved His word in the KJV, He has done a rather shoddy job of doing it, with all the typos.

Angela,

I wasn't defending him.
You know perfectly well I wasn't defending him, and you could read my post and see I wasn't defending hm.

I was defending the KJV as one of the most important LITERARY works in English,
to a friend who was so upset by the debate he was saying we should GET RID OF IT.

I said nothing which should be the slightest bit controversial to any rational human being who speaks English and is even moderately literate.

Did I say false? No, I said psychotic. Of course, your so-called "proofs" are really nothing. But, the mind behind them needs help, no doubt about that.

So do you have a mental health diagnosis yet?

The difference between you and I is that I believe God when He said He would preserve his word.

You have a 1/38 chance of landing on any given number on a Roulette wheel. To hit the number 5 times in a row is 1/38 x 1/38 x 1/38 x 1/38 x 1/38 which is 1 in over 70 million. The odds of the number 37 pattern in Mark 1:1 happening by random chance is 1 in over a 100 million. This is 1 verse and I am telling you good folks that THE ENTIRE KING JAMES BIBLE IS MADE UP OF THESE PATTERNS. I did not put them there. God did. The odds of all the number patterns in the King James Bible happening by random chance cannot be calculated because they will no all be discovered on this side of eternity. I started this thread not wanting to create a negative debate but to put the evidence of this great truth for you people to examine it for yourselves and test these things to see if they be so.

You can't prove anything from lunacy.
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
Proverbs 1:7

"wisdom" 74th (37 x 2) time this word occurs in the King James Bible and Proverbs 1 is the 629th (37 x 17) chapter in the Bible.

Tell me Angela, how are these number patterns nonsense? What evidence are you putting forth to prove that these patterns do no not exist? Have you with an honest heart investigated this matter?

Look, when the books of the bible were written, there were no chapters or verses in them. This was added by men hundreds and thousands of years later.

So you saying 37 x 15 = whatever does not prove anything.

I agree that #'s have meanings. But to say 37 x 2 means 'this' and 37 x 15 means 'that' proves nothing, seeing that there were no verse #'s in the original mss., or even the copies of the copies of those original mss.

Young man only because you are younger than I am... When will you understand that there are some of us on here who want be left alone to read, study and quote our KJV in peace... There are other who want it in your face as you seem to do and want to drag us into the fight... I have been serving God over 50 years and have heard all the pros and cons!... I know all the history... There are those of us that love the beauty, style and prose of the KJV... I leave the others to their translations and have learned through many years of serving the Lord, to read, study, quote and enjoy my KJV as they also read, study, quote and enjoy the versions they read... Brother Glen:)

Thats not to point. The point is that such number games are silly and proving nothing.

You can do similar job with any other translation.

The only thing you need is some online word search engine with word counter and a lot of time to spend playing with it.
