Paul says it so well, doesnt he? There doesn't seem to be a need to expound, it seems quite clear. But maybe not to everyone...
It is written in every epistle, about what this freedom is and is clear in each that by Christ's death we are forgiven 100% and by this action of death that Christ never needed for himself to do, he did so he could then
Colossians 1:22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—

So we could then gain the gift from God, the born again Spirit in God by the resurrection
[h=3]Romans 6:2-4[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? [SUP]3 [/SUP]Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life

All done by God fro us all, wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Verse 15
But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Yes, Lord.

Sometimes its hard to stand fast in the Liberty wherewith Christ has made us free without getting a little "bitey"... If they pull your tail or slap your face you are to remain steadfast in His Love.

Even though my first instinct is to stomp it into little pieces. Stupid flesh.

Its so much easier to teach a brute beast with the whip. The whip demands respect. But it doesn't cause devotion.

Verse 14
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Don't be confused by the pharisees. Keep it simple. Abide in Christ and in His Love and this fruit will be grown in your life to be a blessing for others, and for you.
Yep and just maybe see it a step further for those that don't think they love themselves. So how about how much Christ loved you at the cross where he took the sin that caused death issue out of the way of his Father, so that Father could come and live in us, through our born again Spirits that he did by the resurrected Christ. All God and none of anyone else's doing
I think this is too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! miraculous for some and have to add law and whether or not one is taking advantage of this amazing grace, not seeing that those that do, do not understand the truth of God's Mercy

That last verse, verse 15 made me think about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Can you imagine having the Power of the entire Army of God at your fingertips and instead of bringing the whole thing down to ash you instead decide to endure the humiliation of the cross???

That's why He is Lord and we are not. Without Him our response could never be like His.

Verse 16
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Ahhhh... Like a breath of fresh air...

Walk in the Spirit. And you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

One or the other. You don't get both.

Verse 17
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Another common theme by Paul shown in many other places in the NT.

The flesh fights against the Spirit. The flesh wants to be in control. It may rest for a time but sooner or later it rears up and tries to be in control again.

The flesh doesn't desire anything except to satisfy its own self. It will use any means necessary to accomplish this. I wish I didn't know and couldn't talk about this.

The desire to satisfy the self is the enemy of love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
[SUP]5 [/SUP]does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
[SUP]7 [/SUP]bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

Verse 18
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

You are not under the law. The yoke of bondage. The whip for transgressors. The chastening for those coming to Christ. The Schoolmaster.

You are led by the Spirit if you have come to Christ and recieved His Grace, by faith, and continue to abide in Him.

There is a lot of argument over what law is being discussed here. What law are people working towards? Some would say it is the law of ceremony and sacrifice that we are not under. While that is true it is only half of the truth.

If the Lord Jesus Christ has fulfilled only part of the Law then that leaves some other part to condemn you. That is not true. The Lord Jesus Christ has fullfilled ALL of the Law and that is why NONE of it condemns you.

That is why you are not under it. You believe that the Lord has fulfilled it.

If you don't believe the Lord has fulfilled it then you are working to fulfill it yourself. And more than likely teaching other people to work at it too...

Paul is really straightforward. If he meant that you aren't under the ceremonial law only, he would have made that distinction. Only legalists and judaizers try to make this distinction so that they may put you back under the yoke of bondage.

This yoke of bondage comes in many forms. There are a lot of different denominations that require some work of men to attain the Grace of God.

I won't come up with a list here but you can see how this yoke of bondage is used to control Gods people. Or attempt to control Gods people.

Its the difference between a religion and a relationship. Your religion can't cause you to be led by the spirit. Even pure religion which is spoken of in James 1:27 is the effect of being led by the spirit and not the cause.

Verses 19-21
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

That's what flesh likes to do. The workers of iniquity.

If you are led by the flesh you shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Verse 22-23
[SUP]22 [/SUP]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

These two verses are key to understanding why you are not under the law, what walking in the spirit looks like, and what the Lord Jesus grows in our lives as we Abide in Him.

Verse 24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Those that are abiding in Christ have nailed their flesh to the cross. This is temperance and self control. Which is a fruit of the Spirit which is a GIFT from God.

Verse 25
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

If we have eternal life, if we've been born again, live that way. Know it. Make your election sure.

2 Peter 1:4-9
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Verse 26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Vain glory - men/women looking up to you, like america does with athletes and movie stars...
Provoking - picking a fight
Envying - thinking the grass is always greener on their side.

Hello
I always wondered,why we think believing in the finished work of JESUS is too easy and that we need to do something to be worthy of a relationship with GOD.GOD said that unless the lord builds the house the workers labor in vain.when we are reborn in the spirit,Its GODs workmanship,and we have love.Its easier.But some people feel like believing on the inside (which produces good work is not enough.)

Me too. Either come to Christ or don't. But those that are coming to Christ let them. Don't put them on a side track and try to keep them there.

Verse 11
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

If Paul preached the ways of the jews, the shadow, why was he still persecuted? If he preached the way of the jews then the cross would no longer be an offense to workers of the Law.

Paul was persecuted precisely because he preached of the Liberty that is in Christ. The pharisee, the jew, doesn't like it at all. The pharisee is wanting to point you back to the yoke of bondage, because he doesn't know anything else. The pharisee doesn't want you to have liberty. The pharisee wants everyone to work at the law exactly the way they do. That way they are all in the shadow boasting of their own works before men and they don't have to mention the Great Light that has come to the World.
Great thread throughout Gramps :)

Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Jesus walk among us in love showing us love :)

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Thats pretty awsome
