I just wanted to clear up something. Now I know there will be attempts with scripture to disprove this, but the hebrew and greek with show otherwise.

The Old Testament is not what it is actually called. It is called the Tanak
-תנ ך
Tav-for Torah
Nun-for Nevi'im -The prophets
Kof-Ketuvim -The Writings

This is the Covenant of YHVH.

The New Testament is actually called The Brit Hadeshah -
הברית החדשה

Brit is the hebrew word for covenant
Hadeshah is the hebrew word for 'the renewed'

Here is the hebrew definition for this word.

חדשׁ

châdash
khaw-dash'
A primitive root; to be new; causatively to rebuild: - renew, repair.

Here is the greek definition (which is all over the NT)

kainos
kahee-nos'
Of uncertain affinity; new (especially in freshness; while G3501 is properly so with respect to age): - new.

So here it explains to make fresh, respect of age. G3501 talks about to regenerate

G3501
νέος, νεώτερος

neos neōteros
neh'-os, neh-o'-ter-os
A primary word, including the comparative (second form); "new", that is, (of persons) youthful, or (of things) fresh; figuratively regenerate: - new, young.

For a simple analogy, it would be like taking a classic hot rod, say a 68 Camaro, it's worn out after 40 plus yrs. of being around. I restore it, renew it to make it look young and new again. But it is still over 40 yrs. old.
This is what Yeshua did, He came and made the covenant to us renewed, made it fresh. Otherwise Gal. 3:26-29 wouldn't tell us that we are heirs to the covenant of Abraham.

I agree with you about the covenant, it is written upon the heart and we become part of the covenant given to Abraham.

Galatians 3:29
(29) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Hebrews 8:10
(10) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Avinu, you wrote with great clarity. If a person desires to know certain meanings... ask a Jew.

For we inherited the spiritual things of Jerusalem and are fed from the root. We don't posess the root, but root posesses us. We are built on the foundation of the holy Prophets and Apostles, Yeshua Ha' Mashiach being the chief corner stone.

Shalom!

Here are some verses on the covenant
Isaiah 42:6
(6) I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
Luke 2:27-32
(27) And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
(28) Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
(29) Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
(30) For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
(31) Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
(32) A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
Luke 1:72
(72) To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

Romans 15:8
(8) Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
Galatians 3:16-17
(16) Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
(17) And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

Notice that these verses say that Christ confirmed the covenant. The covenant made to Abraham are all promises of God

This is the covenant mentioned in Daniel 9
Daniel 9:4
(4) And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
Daniel 9:27
(27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Brother I'm sorry, but this is not the covenant of YHVH, why would YHVH bring the abomination of desolation upon His own temple? There's no logic in this. I stated in another post, in the hebrew it says "he made a firm covenant for a week." Not to mention verse 26 says " The prince of the people who destroy the city and sanctuary" that is not YHVH or Yeshua.

You agree that Christ confirmed the covenant and after the apostles. Notice a verse I quoted says Christ was given for a covenant. Because Israel rejected Christ God allowed the city to be destroyed as in the time of the Babylonian captivity.

And the prince of the people who destroyed it, is the anti-christ of tribulation. It wasn't Yeshua.

]Daniel 9
26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

The "He" refers to the Messiah since the whole prophecy is about the Messiah and there is no other singular person mention until later.
However "shall be one who makes desolate" refers to another person different from "He" who ends sacrifice.
Otherwise they would have said "and on the wing of abominations HE shall make desolate" but that is not how it reads...

Leviticus 26:33-35
New King James Version (NKJV)
33 I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you;
your land shall be desolate and your cities waste.
34 Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land;
then the land shall rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
35 As long as it lies desolate it shall rest—
for the time it did not rest on your sabbaths when you dwelt in it.

God fulfilled His prophecy in 70 AD. whether you accept it or not is your choice.

Deuteronomy 31
16 And the Lord said to Moses: “Behold, you will rest with your fathers; and this people will rise and play the harlot with the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them. 17 Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured. And many evils and troubles shall befall them, so that they will say in that day, ‘Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?’ 18 And I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.

19 “Now therefore, write down this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for Me against the children of Israel. 20 When I have brought them to the land flowing with milk and honey, of which I swore to their fathers, and they have eaten and filled themselves and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods and serve them; and they will provoke Me and break My covenant. 21 Then it shall be, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify against them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten in the mouths of their descendants, for I know the inclination of their behavior today, even before I have brought them to the land of which I swore to give them.”

Deuteronomy 32
15 “But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked;
You grew fat, you grew thick,
You are obese!
Then he forsook God who made him,
And scornfully esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
16 They provoked Him to jealousy with foreign gods;
With abominations they provoked Him to anger.
17 They sacrificed to demons, not to God,
To gods they did not know,
To new gods, new arrivals
That your fathers did not fear.
18 Of the Rock who begot you, you are unmindful,
And have forgotten the God who fathered you.
19 “And when the Lord saw it, He spurned them,
Because of the provocation of His sons and His daughters.
20 And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them,
I will see what their end will be,
For they are a perverse generation,
Children in whom is no faith.
21 They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not God;
They have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols.
But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation;
I will move them to anger by a foolish nation.
22 For a fire is kindled in My anger,
And shall burn to the lowest hell;
It shall consume the earth with her increase,
And set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
23 ‘I will heap disasters on them;
I will spend My arrows on them.
24 They shall be wasted with hunger,
Devoured by pestilence and bitter destruction;
I will also send against them the teeth of beasts,
With the poison of serpents of the dust.
25 The sword shall destroy outside;
There shall be terror within
For the young man and virgin,
The nursing child with the man of gray hairs.
26 I would have said, “I will dash them in pieces,
I will make the memory of them to cease from among men,”
27 Had I not feared the wrath of the enemy,
Lest their adversaries should misunderstand,
Lest they should say, “Our hand is high;
And it is not the Lord who has done all this.”’
28 “For they are a nation void of counsel,
Nor is there any understanding in them.
29 Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this,
That they would consider their latter end!
30 How could one chase a thousand,
And two put ten thousand to flight,
Unless their Rock had sold them,
And the Lord had surrendered them?
31 For their rock is not like our Rock,
Even our enemies themselves being judges.
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom
And of the fields of Gomorrah;
Their grapes are grapes of gall,
Their clusters are bitter.
33 Their wine is the poison of serpents,
And the cruel venom of cobras.
34 ‘Is this not laid up in store with Me,
Sealed up among My treasures?
35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
Their foot shall slip in due time;
For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.’
36 “For the Lord will judge His people
And have compassion on His servants,
When He sees that their power is gone,
And there is no one remaining, bond or free.
37 He will say: ‘Where are their gods,
The rock in which they sought refuge?
38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices,
And drank the wine of their drink offering?
Let them rise and help you,
And be your refuge.
39 ‘Now see that I, even I, am He,
And there is no God besides Me;
I kill and I make alive;
I wound and I heal;
Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.
40 For I raise My hand to heaven,
And say, “As I live forever,
41 If I whet My glittering sword,
And My hand takes hold on judgment,
I will render vengeance to My enemies,
And repay those who hate Me.
42 I will make My arrows drunk with blood,
And My sword shall devour flesh,
With the blood of the slain and the captives,
From the heads of the leaders of the enemy.”’
43 “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people;[a]
For He will avenge the blood of His servants,
And render vengeance to His adversaries;
He will provide atonement for His land and His people.”

You all explain the new covenant so well, would you explain Hebrews 8:13?

Hebrews 8:13
By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

I loved the illustration of the hot rod. My friends keep telling me it is a completely new car! They say that the law was too hard for us, so God changed his mind about it. !!!!!

Also, we now have the Holy Spirit, the law is on our hearts and minds. I am told this means that the spirit replaces the law. The old way, they say was the obsolete law, the new way is with spirit and truth. I am not getting through to my friends that both are alive and well.

I have never explained as well as any of you! You all understand, I am anxious to hear you explain it.
