As if you actually believe you're smarter than that Scholar, who broke down the Greek and revealed, that you're not even remotely close to the truth.
The Kjv is fine . I think God knew that English would be the dominant language.

God knew His Holy Word would be translated into all Languages. But there still is a difference between as close to original VS translated from almost close to original due to 2,000 years of word meaning. It's why when you look up a Greek word, the English gives 4 options for what that single word could mean. That's a big difference.

In the Hebrew Language, the word Hell has 25 terminologies. In English, there is one word and they just add hell when it could literally mean 25 different things.

So you could read hell 10 times in a paragraph that mean 10 things, but from English, they all mean same thing.

How are you getting the truth if you don't translate correctly?

People,do not seem to understand that a word for word Greek to English by defenitions would be flawed. Because it is really impossible what you have to do is do an expanded translation. Well then people complain it’s not word for word.
hence no one should trust any English text explicitly, especially when it comes to problem or difficult passages

then look at the word baptize? It is not even a native English word, they transliterated the Greek baptizo and made a new English word by changing the o to an e.

so we should look to the Greek for the definition, not the English.

That’s probably why you are screwed up in a few areas including this one

which Greek? Which greek has the word baptize in 2nd person plural? Because if we are to believe as you do we would have to find at least one

Acts 2.38 is sadly one of ,the most twisted scriptures in the NT .

Again ,why is Acts 2.38 used as the plan of salvation today ?
-Its chapter 2 in a book of 28 chapters ?
- Its a transitional book
- Peter is addressing Israel/ Jews
36¶Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

- The objection is this part.
39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

But in context, as Peter has no Gentile in mind ,he's saying " For the promise is unto you( Jews ) , and to your children( Jews ) , and to all that are afar off,( Jews ) even as many as the Lord our God shall call.( Jews ,as Gentiles are not in the picture until After Israels rejection in Acts 7 )

- The Order is rightly seen as reading 38¶Then Peter said unto them,
1 Repent,
2and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins
3) , and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

This is not found in any description Paul gives later.
The commentaries literally do linguistic gymnastics, with 'the greek ' to try make it sound like what we see after in the epistles. Its hilarious the amount of dancing around is made of this verse to make it say something it actually doesn't say . The verse scarcely stands as it reads ,given by so many commentaries.

Peter is saying things to this crowd that doesn't apply to us . " whom ye have crucified , both Lord and Christ.
This is specific to this audience.
Yes they are saved when they do what's required. My point is that what is required today is not Acts 2.38 .
Rather its 1.cor 1.21
Eph 1.13
Rom 10,9 -15
1 cor 15 : 1-4

thoughts ?
Well first off, we know that the promise is not only to the Jews, but to the Gentiles as well as revealed in other scriptures. Acts 2:38 does not diminish the need for Gentile believers to repent. There is one Lord and one gospel for both Jew and Gentile. So whether Jew or Gentile, we are under the same requirements and repentance is one them.

Peter is not addressing anyone but Israel. They are surprised by Cornelius.

The context reveals the correct word usage. Acts 2.38 is just fine ,without needing to to ridiculous mental gymnastics around it . Look at how much effort your putting in to changing what it says .

He is teaches them both the same message, the truth is the same for both jew and gentile
I'm referring to Acts 2

36¶Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Why are you denying what it says ? It literally says who Peter is addressing. What more do you want?

So you can’t find one?

what mental gymnastics?

if we interpret it like you want us to it literally has Peter saying latball Of you repent, and let those individuals be baptized so that you will recieve the gift of the spirit because they recieved remission of sin.

talk about mental gymnastics

are you willing to let eternity be decided because your afraid to look at the Greek? The language the Bible was written in? God chose koine Greek and not English for a reason my friend

Yep

but he was not teaching them a different message, he taught them the same gospel they were to send to Isreal first, then to Samaria then to all the earth

the same message he gave in acts 2 is the same message in acts 10.

In what way ? Its not the same message . The instruction is not the same as we find later in Paul's letters . its not the same instruction even within the 29 conversion accounts in Acts . The details matter . Its why the verse gets greekafied to death, and others use it to teach baptismal regeneration. Because of not Believing what it says in context.

Lol

yet if we teach it as it says in acts 2:38 KJV. We are teaching baptismal regeneration by water,

that was never taught in any message of any apostle in the NT.

so you are causing more problems, not helping

Repent & be Baptized Dogma

Repent & be baptized isn't the correct message for today's Church/body of Christ.

Acts 2:22. Peter say's "YE MEN OF ISRAEL hear these words".
(MY NOTE: Context - Peter say's: YE MEN OF ISRAEL. This takes place during Pentecost. A mandatory pilgrimage feast for every male Jew of age. The Temple Mt. is full of Jews, NO GENTILE WAS BAPTIZED in Acts 2:4. YE MEN OF ISRAEL. Peter is speaking to the circumcision-Israelites only)

Context, Context, Context: Peter’s is telling them to REPENT from UNBELIEF/in & killing their long promised Messiah/Redeemer.

Acts 2: [paraphrasing]
22 YE MEN OF ISRAEL, Jesus was a man approved by, via miracles, sings & wonders

23 This same Jesus that you had crucified & killed:

24 This same Jesus, God raised from the dead

33 He's now sits at the right hand of God exalted. You are today eyewitness, that the Father's promise of the Holy Ghost is hear & now

36 Therefore let all the [context here] HOUSE of ISRAEL know, this same Jesus, you crucified is our long promised Messiah/redeemer

37 when the MEN of ISRAEL heard this, they asked Peter, what shall we do?

38 Peter says Repent from UNBELIEF & KILLING your Messiah. Then be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ & u will receive God's indwelling H/S & ALL your sins will receive full pardon.

Ok, for a Jew to allow himself to be be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Was likened to an act of suicide. Just ask Stephen, Saul's job was to find Jews that allowed himself to be be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Put them in chains & bring the back for punishment.

Saul becomes Paul & Jews did this to him:
Acts 9:29 Jews attempt to put him to death, 13:50 Jews expelled Paul & Barnabas out of their coasts, 14:5 Jews stone him, 16:22-23 beaten with many stripes, 18:12 Jews haul him into court, 20:23 bondage awaits in Jerusalem, 21:31 & 22:22 life threatened, 23:3 beaten, 2 Cor 11:24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, 26 in perils by mine own countrymen, perils among false brethren.

Recap Jews only/no gentile received the baptism of the H/S at the Acts 2:4 Pentecost. These MEN of ISRAEL were told to Repent [not from everyday sins, they had a sacrificial system for that]. They were to from REPENT from UNBELIEF as to who Jesus was & having their Messiah killed.

Sin & Repentance for todays Church

Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
(NOTE: The key to this verse is found in the article "TOWARD". Repentance TOWARD God & faith TOWARD Christ)

Repentance nor water ISN'T a work that earns salvation, repentance is a change of mind "TOWARD" God. For the Jew of the time repent/turn back to the Lord your.

For the gentile that had NO relationship with God. Acknowledge that God IS, that you've sinned against a sovereign creator & are in need of a savior. Turning to God, when mixed with faith in Christ's sin payment & resurrection results in a change of actions.

Jn 16:
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
(NOTE: The Holy Spirit will reprove/expose/convict everyone of, sins? NO of "SIN" singular.)

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

(MY NOTE: The only SIN that condemns one to eternal separation/damnation is UNBELIEF/rejecting Christ's sin atoning sacrifice & resurrection until life's end. Faith in Jesus sin payment & resurrection takes away/removes/pardons/forgives every other sin.

Jn 8:24 Jesus said; ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
(MY NOTE: Only FAITH [not works] is salvations requirement.)

1 Now brothers and sisters, let me remind you [once again] of the good news [of salvation] which I preached to you, which you welcomed and accepted and on which you stand [by faith].

2 By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain [just superficially and without complete commitment].

3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

4 and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

Thats my whole point. The verse is fine as it says ,because the context is Israel . Peter is simply telling this Audience what they need to do and why . The issues come because today people take the verse out of context and apply it TODAY thinking this is the order of salvation . Catholics and other groups rightly see the order in which it says, but they don't see the context its given . The greek gamers see the verse in the same way as the Catholics and panic ,so they desperately seek to change what it says in order to avoid the same conclusion . Catholics and such seek to change other verses to suit how they see 2 38 . Others seek to Change it in light of other verses . Both miss the whole plot . Its ok for 2.38 to be Just for that Audience at that time ( Israel) This is what it says . This does not violate how we see the order of salvation later . Its not a different gospel. Its a different instruction for a particular group ,just like its a different instruction to the samaritans when they need the laying on of hands in Acts 8 . God can do this. He's allowed to do this. This does not upset his plan . Today as we read in Paul's epistles we see the instruction for how a person is saved in Eph 1.13 . Notice the difference. No one is harmed . God is still the same. The sky doesn't fall in . No one should be offended by God doing as he sees fit .
