I refured to this parable in another thread last night, and now bring this in a thread.
To witness to the glory of Our Lord God, in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
For His glory stands before us , always!!!!
We all know the story of the prodgical son, I have always loved this parable, for it speaks so well to our inheiritance, the salvation given in Jesus Christ is Lord.
The first part of this parable speaks to the son, who asks for his inheiritance, then leaves with it going out into the world.
Believing he knows all he needs to live successfully.
Of course we all know that this son, had no idea what he was doing, and quickly lost all to foolish acts and those who seek to steal.
The son then is destitute, suffering, he remebers that even the servants were treated well in his fathers house, so he decides to return, in hope that at least he can be a servant.
His father, who had kept watch for his son's return, rejoices when he sees him, calling for new clothing, the fatted caf, and a celibration.
The other son who was faithful, retuning from work in the field, sees the celibration, angry he asks his father why does his brother get a party? When he had never left, always faithful.
Now this is just a quick summery, so as always, read the original scripture to conferm.
I wanted to simply witness to what is seen in this parable, what was revieled in Jesus.
First, the son taking his inheiritance and leaving his father's house.
How we often thnk that salvation, our inheiritance, is all we need, and go out, continueing to live in the world.
Doesnt work, we will sin and fall to the theif who steals, kills and destroys
The son soon learned this, and in hope to be at least a servant, humbled himself and returned to his fathers house.
His father was keeping watch, and rejoiced when he saw him return, restoring his son.
what is seen here, is that not only did his father welcome him, but started celibrating his return.
this says that the true inheiritance cannot be lost, because it is the fathers love.
But it shows as well, how it was not the father who took away his inheiritance, but the son who lost it in the world through sin , because he did not remain in his fathers house.
We need to always to keep our eyes on Jesus, remaining in him with a humble heart, so as to keep close in the father's presance.
Sin separates, not because God pushes us away, but because we look away from God Our Father, our lord Jesus.
The part I love so much though, is that the father was keeping watch for the sons return, he never stopped loving his son, and rejoiced when he returned, giving to him all that is given to a son.
Then of course, a celibration, how great is our God, that he always keeps watch for us, and then celibrates our return!
The part that I had always struggled with, was the other sons reation, for the other faithful son was angry because of the celibration, when he had always been a good and faithful son, what was his reward? The other son said.
Then, Jesus opened my eyes, and revieled this understanding!
Because as the father said, Why are you angry, for you already have your reward.
Then I saw that salvation is the greatest rewaerd, there is no greater, for eternal life in our Father's house is our perfect and greatest reward!
The father then said, he who was lost has returned to us, this is why we celibrate!
Again, there is no greater reward, place that we can seek, or strive for, than eternal life, in God our Fathers presance.
The message of this parable is so perfect and loving, for it trully shows God Our Father's love for us.
For we need to see that God Our Father loved us so much, that while we were still sinners, he gave His son, Jesus as payment for our sins.
But what this parable shows so clearly, is that salvation is not earned, but God Our Fathers gift in Jesus.
That we are called to not sin, or think we can survive in the world on our own, simply because , to do so we will lose our inhearitance, because sin blinds us, thus the thief can steal it all.
But our joy as well is that the true inheiritance, is God our Fathers love, which cannot be stolen or lost, for God remaines watchful, for our return if we foolishly leave.
Anyway, I just wanted to witness to the glory of God in this parable, share the joy and message it brought me in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
If any here who are good at cutting and paisting would place this parable in full here, I would be greatful, I never seem to be able to.
Please share what this parable has revieled in Jesus to you!
For Gods love,is trully, perfect!!!
