Also I will smite the uncircumcised for they have not obeyed my law nor have they kept the Sabbath. They have trusted in my Son who died on the cross and therefore I will smite them for not trusting in My Sabbath nor have they removed their foreskins.

Okay enough, Yes i am being sarcastic. But enough is enough. Jesus is the Sabbath and If we trust in Him then we have kept the Sabbath. Yes go to church on whatever day you go. but we cannot judge by it. I enjoy and love going to church. But if you want god in your church, then you have to get him in your bedroom first.

Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath... but the Sabbath WAS made for man, for a good reason.

But it's just like avoiding strong drink and letting your farm land rest and all those other rules - you can follow them and have a better life or not follow them and run yourself down to the ground. If you choose not to take a day of rest, good luck to you. And don't come crying... er, praying to God when your body starts breaking down.

As for me, it seems a bit counter-productive to spend a lot of energy arguing about a rest day. So I'm going to let the case rest. :D

Hi gotime, I enjoyed what you posted so far, and sorry to hear you are withdrawing. Even so, there is much here already to consider. Sabbath is one of my most favorite topics, seeing how many times it is mentioned in the Bible, both NT and OT.

As any ruler would have to do, establish authority in order to reign, so did our Creator. He gives account of all He created, then He establishes a sign of that authority. He called that sign a gift for man. Indeed it is.

God bless you in your studies too.

Actually I will keep going as I have not broken any of the site rules. I have never hidden my view concerning the Sabbath, So I am not being underhanded or sneaky in any way. This discussion I decided to put up because every time I have a discussion with people on this topic the foundation is always ignored.

But let me make something clear, This post is not to show or lead anyone to think that the keeping the Sabbath saves us. nor is it to force anyone to keep it. We are all free agents. The purpose of this thread is to study the Sabbath from its foundation to see what we can learn about God from it.
