What is your point? Do you think I don't keep the commandments of God? Do you suppose I'm missing out on the blessing of the Sabbath? What is the blessing of the Sabbath?
They are inspired words from God, not mine, I hope you hear them.

Satan's disciples will stay busy here on Earth.
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a
murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in
him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

What I'd like to hear is what is the blessing of the Sabbath? Got any thoughts on that?
Still no answer as to what the blessing of the Sabbath is?
While there are at the site below commentators like those anti-Sabbath posters we encounter here I think this is worth sharing under the terms of Fair Use.
Let's see if it helps.

"People often consider Sabbath-keeping a burden—or worse, as legalistic. But the Bible points to the Sabbath as a day of blessing. Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27). Sabbath was designed to be a special gift to humanity, but amid the controversy between good and evil, it has been maligned.

While the Bible is full of promises, let’s look at a few that are especially focused on the Sabbath.

  • A gift of time — In the beginning, God gave humans the gift of sacred time to spend in fellowship with their Creator (Genesis 2:1–3).

  • Freedom from work — Since sin brought exhausting toil, the Sabbath is a weekly rest from work for everyone, including animals (Exodus 20:8–11).

  • A blessing of joy — Those who keep the Sabbath are promised joy and fulfillment in life (Isaiah 58:13, 14).

  • A special blessing for our children — As we show our dedication to God by keeping His Sabbath holy, He promises to gather our children to Him and bless them (Isaiah 56:2–9).

  • Security — God has given to us the Sabbath as a sign of our saving relationship with Him, giving us security in the midst of a world of falsehood and deception.(Ezekiel 20:20).

  • Renewal in Christ — Jesus came as God in the flesh to show us how to live and how much God wants to save us from sin so that we can live eternally with Him. He claimed the Sabbath as His holy day and then showed us how to keep it. (See Mark chapter 2.)

  • Hope of eternity — God’s promise of a new world, free from sin, is concurrent with an unbroken cycle of Sabbath worship (Isaiah 66:22, 23).
Jesus’ promise to each of us is, “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Revelation 1:3). As the final days of earth’s history pass by, you may have family and friends who have questions about the importance of the Sabbath. Click here for a great resource that you can share with them."

From Acts 15:20 plus 28 Abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals, and from blood. It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond these essential requirements

Still no answer as to what the blessing of the Sabbath is?
Any time we can rest with Jesus is a blessing.
We can rest in Jesus 24/7, but God commanded us to stop our labour on the sabbath. The command is a great blessing because if I had my way I would labour every day.
The rest is a blessing for many reasons...
Time to look at creation and the creator, time to look at salvation, time with family and church. Etc....
Glory to God.
The thing that seperates the 7th day from the rest of the week is that we are obeying God. If we keep Sunday holy we are not obeying God.

By the way, you take the artistic works of others from various sources you find on the net in order to create the scripture "art" pieces you post here. You've done this for years.
This is why you don't sell your works online.
How do I know this?
You told me so a long time ago.

Yes,I know you.

Thou shalt not steal.

If you're not also going by the name Dino here, I'd be surprised. Your passive aggressive personality off line shows up on the Net too. On all the Christian sites you frequent.

Thank you for showing who you are.
I have had quite a few pages open to pixabay for some time now (weeks) and need to start closing them because my browser is acting up. One person who is offering stuff free for use by others in their personal projects, without giving attribution, has 147 pages of images (there might be some music files in there as well, but I am not going to check all the pages to find out). 147 pages with possibly 60 and probably at least 50 images per page... I'll round that off to being 8,000 images one person is offering. If I was really enamored with her style (I'm assuming "she" since the member's name is 1tamara2) I would save the page url, but 5 pages in, eh, I don't think that's necessary. A general search discloses that the pixabay total number of assets is over 5.1 million as of November, 2024. Yeah, that's a lot, but I figure in my time as a printer in a photo lab I have looked at tens of millions of pictures over the last almost fifty years. Wiki search also discloses that Pixabay.com is a free stock photography and royalty-free stock media website. It is used for sharing photos, illustrations, vector graphics, film footage, stock music and sound effects, exclusively under the custom Pixabay Content License, which generally allows the free use of the material with some restrictions. The site's images are allowed to be used for free without attribution, and allowed to be modified and adapted into new works. Pixabay does not allow users to sell or distribute the content as is, use it commercially if it contains recognizable trademarks, or use photos in immoral, illegal, misleading, or deceptive ways. So I put emphasis on and enlarged what is pertinent, because I modify and adapt much of what I collect as I am designing the panels. You can also search out the words wellington, financial, in my post stream, to see I have mentioned artists work I have used before, and mentioned many times that I do not sell any of the work I do and the reasons why, quite unlike your take on it.

It isn't impossible to keep the Sabbath. As countless generations have demonstrated in their keeping of it. As did the Apostles after Jesus.

Genesis 2. The Sabbath pre-existed Moses. Which is why God said in those 10 Commandments that prescribed love for God and for one another, remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
"Be ye holy as I am holy."

It's a relationship. Every single day we are not alone, not apart from God's spirit that indwells us. And Sabbath is when we can shut out the worldlyvdistractions, work,TV, cell phones,etc... and make time for just the two of us.

Who could possibly condemn that and claim it cannot be done. Must not be done.
You make time for Jesus 24/7 and not a day of rest from six days of work.

Anti-Sabbath persons don't realize we can keep our minds in service to God one day of the week by delivering dry goods to the local food bank, bringing old clean clothes to Goodwill, putting our book discards in the community book share box in our neighborhood,. I drop off Christian titles.
Checking in on our elderly or handicapped neighbors to see if they're OK,need help, would like us to mow their lawn for free. Visit local pet shelters and keep kitties and doggies company for awhile as they await a loving family.
Make candles and anoint them with oils listed in Scripture and then use those or pass them along to sisters and brothers at church ,our weekly ,sometimes Sabbath day, prayer and or Bible study circles.

Bottom line is, board trolls excluded of course, we will never reach those who are openly in opposition to God's gift of Sabbath day.
I've been online and in Christian communities for awhile now. And often it is the same name(s) who post the same Sabbath opposition arguments. They never can post a scripture that proves God retracted the gift he created for MAN,not Jews in the Mosaic era only. For mankind!

Because no such scripture exists. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. He is God,our Lord, who created and gifted us,humans,'man' the Sabbath.
The people of The Way in the New Testament were converted Jews. I.E those who today would be known as Messianic Jews. And they kept the Sabbath.

We today keep the Sabbath holy in service to God's call on our lives in his name. Examples are those acts I previously listed.

"Acts" of the Apostles are not solely chapters in The Book. :D

May God continue to keep you in his blessings and light.
Once the sabbath appeared in the codified law then it became the letter of the law.

The letter of the law was written on tablets of stone.

Do you understand what the letter of the law means?

The sabbath was given specifically to the nation of Israel.

How can you quote Exodus 20, the letter of the law.

When you know we are not under the letter of the law?

Some make Sunday holy.
Only the 7th day was made holy by God.
God's child love God every day but only the sabbath is sanctified.

Sanctified = set aside for holy use.
The sabbath like every other law delivers the knowledge of sin and that's all it does.

The sabbath commandment like every other law will condemn you.

The law will condemn you because no one is righteous.

Your playing with fire and you will get burnt.

Why do you ignore Paul's teaching on the law?

The sabbath is the law, the sabbath is the letter of the law.

We are not under the letter of the law.

The law grants the knowledge of sin and that sin is deadly.

The law stirs up sin and opposition to God.

Legalists are cranky folk.

Legalists are cranky folk.
Is the solution to ...

1. Get ride of the law.
2. Or pay the penalty of the law.

Jesus paid the penalty for transgressing the law. He didn't remove the law.

If He just removed the law then His death was not needed.

We are not free to break the law. We are free from the penalty of the law.

Love is the motivation that prevents us from continuing to sin.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

So far, every person I've spoken with on this subject who disagrees with me has been very disingenuous. Like you, they make untrue statements. I'm not anti-Sabbath. I'm full- blown Sabbath. But I don't imagine that following a rigid outer practice void of inward spiritual reality will bring the blessing you suspect. Nor does such an estate foster true blessing.

The blessing of the Sabbath is the Lord Jesus Christ. It is He who provides the rest. That rest is the cessation of striving to maintain a right relationship with God. Read afresh Matthew 11:28-30 and hear what God intended in giving a Sabbath rest. No more striving to be worthy of God's favor. Simply resting in Christ. This is what the Sabbath blessing is.

We can rest in Jesus 24/7, but God commanded us to stop our labour on the sabbath.
That was merely a shadow or type of the reality of our ceasing from works of the flesh to trust and know that God is sanctifying us 24/7 through his indwelling spirit.

I didn't write it for you to ignore. But what it does show is both your lack of understanding and discernment in spiritual matters. No doubt you have a zeal for God, but it is without knowledge.

You don't even understand that Jesus was under the old covenant. He performed plenty of things not required of those under the new covenant. Of course what Paul says is required of NT saints will differ from those who were under the old covenant. You are trying to put new wine into old wineskins. That's why this thread is bursting.
You can believe that Jesus lived under the "old covenant" that has vanished and gone away and all of His teachings and following His example would automatically vanish as well. I can see why this would be a popular teaching for those so desperately trying to get rid of the Sabbath, that is according to the commandment Luke 23:56 and people would rather throw out the other 9 commandments then keep the one God said Remember, now we have to throw out Jesus being our example, because Jesus kept the Sabbath- basically the devil really takes issue with God Sabbath and has taught millions if not billions we don't need to keep, or it can be edited to suit our own lifestyle.

Mans condemnation means nothing to be, it actually recharges my faith because we were told the commandment keeping people would be persecuted Rev 12:17 Mat 10:22 so thank you.

That said, if interested in looking at the scriptures to see what His word teaches lets take a look.

Jesus was born under the law Galatians 4:4 Jesus was born human under the law, just as Mary, just as us and this means under the condemnation of the law. The wages of sin is death Rom 6:23. The curse is still there, but Jesus gave us another option, to die of self, and live for Him, which means following the example He left for us. He is the only one who has been able to keep the law without sin, and if we are right with Christ, abide in His love and follow Him, He will impute His righteousness, because we have none.

Had Jesus not been born under the penalty of the law and sinned just once, He could have not been our Savior and all of humanity would be lost.

But, Jesus did not fail. While He was tempted, just as we are He was without sin

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

The New Testament means New Covenant

Jesus was the Mediator of the New Covenant so lived in the New Covenant, not the Old.

Hebrews 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

His death ratified His covenant- It Is Finished John 19:30

Meaning nothing can be added or changed to His covenant.

The Sabbath rest after His death, is still according to the commandment Luke 23:56

God said in the commandment the seventh day is the Sabbath Exo:10

The author of Hebrews didn't change the Sabbath 40 decades after Christ death as many try to read into that passage. This passage supports what God said and one would have to understand the story of Joshus and David in the OT to understand fully this passage. If anyone interested in going verse by verse with me on it, I would be happy to go through it and study together. But changing God's Sabbath or any of the God's commandments goes against what Jesus taught. And while many believe what He taught and how He lived was for other people, its not what Jesus said

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Sadly, people think they can skip all of His teachings, all of His sanctification and just be in Christ, but it doesn't work like that.

Jesus said:
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

No one is walking in harmony with Jesus in His Spirit by not loving Him and disobeying His commandments. And His commandments are His version, what He wrote and what He spoke and if we believe in Him, we would believe in His teachings and follow His example.

How do we abide in Jesus?
John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love,
1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1 John 2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

So lets not deceive ourselves, if we abide in Christ, we will keep His commandments and follow the example He left for us.

Jesus kept all of the commandments including the Sabbath and He said follow Me, not to follow man, that path leads to a ditch Mat 15:3-14

If we believe in Jesus, we would believe His teaching such as

Mat 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

This is Jesus quoting Old Testament- so despite the teachings of many, Jesus puts all the Glory of what God said, not to just "hear" but to live by i.e. do.

Exodus 20 And God spoke all these words, saying:

Exo 20: 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

I say we have faith in Jesus in what He taught, how He lived. He is the way, will only lead us down the narrow path back to reconciliation Isa 56:1-6 Rev 22:14
