The problem here is a lack of faith. The just shall live by faith, overcoming sin can be done but not by us. It is Christ in you the hope of glory.

When the human being sees their sin by the law and their need of saving they come to Christ and a miracle happens, They die and Christ lives in them and the life they live they live by faith in the son of God who gave himself for them.

This is not just nice words, Christ said that He and the Father would make their abode in us by the Holy Spirit. we become partakers of the divine nature sanctified by His blood and Spirit He keeps us from falling.

This is not a question of who can or who is strong enough, It is a question of faith in Gods promises through Christ and it is written:

2Co_1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

The sign of justification by faith is rest.

Not a sabbath rest. Not 'keeping' a sabbath. Not 'observing' a sabbath.

Actual real rest. From all of our work at the law and our own understanding of it.
Well, Grandpa, the text doesn't say that.

"For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: And on the seventh day God rested from all his work." Heb 4:4

And again, in Heb 4:9
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God's rest (accepts the gospel - see Heb 4:3) also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.

God rested from His work of creation at the end of this world's first week. Why? It was perfect; mankind could not improve on God's sinless, immortal creation.

But again, Hebrews 9,10 is not about God's rest from a perfect creation, but rather God's rest from a perfect redemption in Christ.

Heb 4:9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God's rest (accepts the gospel - see Heb 4:3) also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.
1] There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest

What does that mean? Exactly what it states that the Sabbath has not been abolished as some mistakenly claim.

2] a
nyone (not just the Jew) who enters God's rest

I have already linked the phrase "God's rest" to accepting the gospel in Hebrews 4:2,3. Lets review this:

2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
3 For we who have believed do enter that rest...

So accepting the gospel is entering God's rest.

But, the one who accepts the gospel also rests as God rested from His work of redemption. What day did God rest? Again, the 7th-day Sabbath.

You can't cease from your works unless you believe the gospel.

What verse are you referring to? Here's the context:

Heb 4:4 For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work."....9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God's rest (the gospel) also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.

What work did God cease? The context is His work of redemption, "in Christ Jesus". So God the Father rested the 7th-day. Why? His work of redemption was finished...it was complete.

The believer who has entered God's rest (i.e., has accepted the gospel) ALSO rests from his labor or work, just as God rested from His work.
