alling Jesus "the only begotten God," doesn't necessarily mean that Jesus is a second God. We can't pull just one verse out of Scripture and make a doctrine out of it. If we look at what the rest of Scripture says over and over and over again, it declares that Yahweh is the one and only God. Therefore, if the Bible identifies anyone as a true God, then that Person must be Yahweh.
If you have an unbegotten God, that is unseen. You have another God that is begotten and seen. There are clearly 2 different Gods involved here.
Where was the unbegotten and unseen Father during the Son's earthly ministry?

Except Elohim is plural and means mighty ones.
Moses is called Ellohim. Also the rulers of Isreal are called it. Psamls 82:6

Ellohim doesn't mean God, but God can be called Elohim.
So who do you think Elohim, the creator God in the first chapter of Genesis was?

Do you think they were some Mighty Ones?

Do you think they were Moses?

Do you think they were the rulers of Israel?

Do you think they were angels?

Who do you think Elohim of the 1st chapter of Genesis was? Once you tell me what you think, I will tell you what I think.
So I look forward to hearing from you.

No, you do not end up with two Gods, when there is only one God to begin with. (Remember Isaiah 45 and many other places in the Bible that state that Yahweh is the one and only God.)

Jesus and the Father are separate Persons; they are not separate Gods.

Some think it is a triune God. I believe it is God and the angels but others disagree. Its more of a title, not a name. Many different things are called it, so it isn't a god of its own, but a title.

To those who believe Elohim is the triune God, I'm not trying to get back into that. I simple want to clear up that Elohim doesn't ALWAYS mean God and isn't a God on its own.

Actually, there are a mere few verses that can lend one to believe that there is more than one God, but, there are MANY verses that prove the Trinity is Truth, that Jesus and God are one, that God came to Earth in the lowly form of a baby boy to prove to the World that He IS God and to show us the way to Him, through Jesus Christ, His Son, born of Holy Spirit seed in the virgin Mary :)

Can the 2 separate Persons be in 2 separate places at the same time?

The meaning of Elohim is determined by its contextual usage.

In Gen 1 and then again in Gen 2 it refers to the Triune God....as it does in thousands of other locations thereafter....

NO, there is ONLY one GOD, Never has been any more than ONE GOD, and NEVER will be any more than the ONE GOD.

Sorry, but Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were TOTALLY WRONG about there being more than ONE GOD. And that means NO Mormons will ever become a GOD, like they were taught and want to believe.

Isaiah 43:10-11 (HCSB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] “You are My witnesses”— ⌊this is⌋ the LORD’s declaration— “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. No god was formed before Me, and there will be none after Me.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Savior but Me.

I'll admit that I have not taken time to read all 72 pages of text on this thread.
I just wanted to weigh in with an insight or 2, or 3 or 4.
first, we know that God is Spirit and we must worship Him in Spirit and Truth. Second, we know the duality of the Savior (fully God and fully man). While I really don't understand that URL nature, I accept it.
Now Jesus communed with the Father as a separate entity, He also reminded us that He IS the Father.
Again, I not understand, but I have come to the realization that God operates with us on a Need to know basis. He tells us what we need to know and the rest is on faith.
we see the trinity at the LORDs baptism. The Son came out of the water, the Spirit descended and the Father spoke

"They are 3 Persons, yet all of them are God. There is only one God. So all 3 Persons are Yahweh/Jehovah."

Well not so fast. Yahweh/Jehovah does = Jesus before he was born on earth, he was the God of the Old Testament.
Jesus = Jesus when he was on earth.
Jesus = Jesus today.
You readily admit that Jesus is not God the Father, so why would they both have the same name. They don't.

There is another God that is not called Yahweh. This God is the Father of Yahweh.

If you read in the Hebrew, chapter 1 of Genesis, the name of the God that is doing all of the creating is Elohim. The English translation of Elohim is God.

Then in chapter 2, verse 2 Elohim of the 1st chapter is now resting.
Then in chapter 2, verse 3 we are introduced to another God. His name is Yahweh/Elohim and the English translation is
LORD God.

God of the 1st chapter is Elohim who is God the Father, the unbegotten God, the unseen God, the God that is the Father of Jesus.

God of the 2nd chapter of Genesis is Yahweh/Elohim/LORD God is Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of Elohim/God the Father. He is also the God in chapter 2 that made everything that was made, everything that exists. He is also the God that is seen throughout the Old Testament by many men face to face (as a man speaketh to his friend, which is the way Yahweh/Elohim is trying to tell you that it is a literal face to face meeting, not just a figurative statement). The God that was made flesh and dwelt among us and sacrificed his life to save us in the Kingdom of God.

So the name of God the Father is Elohim, the name of Jesus is Yahweh/Elohim and the name of the Holy Spirit is just that.

They are 1 God in mind/will/purpose/action.

Now we all know that the members of the Godhead have proper names, but they have many names that they are known by, and although it is confusing, each one can use any name he wishes at the time because their mind/will/purpose/action are so in harmony that what is in a name? So the name thing can be a black hole that we may never get out of until the end, but chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis is interesting as it introduces 2 Gods with different names and different functions, which they do so harmoniously that they are ONE.
then who is all power full is it the father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit

As I was saying it isn't a name, but a title that God can have or in few cases a human can even have. (Moses and the rulers of Israel are called it). Elohim doesn't mean God, but God is Elohim.

I was simply showing that Elohim isn't a 2nd God of its own.

true the Father, Jehovah is the one and only living God and Jesus is his son and the Holy Spirit is his power
Yahweh (Jehovah) is not only the Father.

The Father is Jehovah, but so is Jesus, and so is the Holy Spirit.

If Jesus weren't Jehovah, He would be a second God. But we know that there is only one God (Jehovah). Therefore Jesus has to be Jehovah, too. The same with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit isn't just a word for God's power. Look at how Jesus talks about the Holy Spirit in John chapters 14, 15, and 16. The Holy Spirit is a Person, and He is God (Jehovah).

John 14:16-31 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [SUP][b][/SUP]Helper, that He may be with you forever; [SUP]17 [/SUP]that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

[SUP]18 [/SUP]“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. [SUP]19 [/SUP][SUP][c][/SUP]After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. [SUP]20 [/SUP]In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. [SUP]21 [/SUP]He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” [SUP]22 [/SUP]Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” [SUP]23 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. [SUP]24 [/SUP]He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. [SUP]26 [/SUP]But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. [SUP]27 [/SUP]Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. [SUP]28 [/SUP]You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. [SUP]29 [/SUP]Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. [SUP]30 [/SUP]I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; [SUP]31 [/SUP]but so that the world may know that I love the Father, [SUP][d][/SUP]I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.

John 15:26-27 (NASB)

[SUP]26 [/SUP]“When the [SUP][h][/SUP]Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, [SUP]27 [/SUP][SUP][i][/SUP]and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

John 16:5-15 (NASB)

[SUP]5 [/SUP]“But now I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ [SUP]6 [/SUP]But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. [SUP]7 [/SUP]But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the [SUP][c][/SUP]Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. [SUP]8 [/SUP]And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;[SUP]9 [/SUP]concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; [SUP]10 [/SUP]and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; [SUP]11 [/SUP]and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. [SUP]13[/SUP]But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. [SUP]14 [/SUP]He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. [SUP]15 [/SUP]All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.

Since He is one God, all of Him is all powerful. That is one of God's attributes, so each Person who is God is all powerful.

More than likely he'll say this is personification, which is used frequently in scripture. (Ex wisdom is a woman)

Just letting you know because I have been told similarly, but do not know what I think of the Holy Spirit yet because I haven't done a study of it on my own yet.
