What is easy believism to you? From my experience that is a derogatory term used by lordship salvation proponents(John MacArthur probably being the top dog in todays world) that disagree in faith alone in Christ alone for salvation. And Johnny is subtle with it, he sounds really good on the surface, but He is a promoter of false salvation doctrine.

We recognize that we are sinners and we believe in our heart(Mind/the right lobe of the brain) that Christ died for our sins and was raised for us........do you believe this is easy believism?

The demons were never once mentioned in the salvation plan. Many people believe in God, the Jews do also. But they don't recognize Jesus Christ as dying for them and their sins.

Easy believism is walking an isle, asking Jesus in our hearts, saying some sinners prayer and many other false beliefs that a lot of churches teach.
Honestly? Preachers I trust are something like music I like -- if they weren't around yet in the 70's, I'm suspect if they're good or not. lol

Because of that, a lot of preachers' names posted on here I've heard of but don't know. (I call my sources "Dead Guys" for a reason. lol) I've heard of MacArthur. I can't really comment on if he's good or not, because I don't know him. I also miss out on all the modern vernacular of Christianese a lot. (Christianese is the language and tradition of modern day Christians.)

So here's my recap on easy-believism. When it's more important to focus on the Don't Do list (i.e. Don't smoke, don't drink, don't chew, and don't hang out with those who do), than focus on Jesus' two BIG commandments. (Love God fully and love others.) It's easy, because it's usually trained into the folks that believe it's all about the Don't Do List, so, by the time they're adults they don't do those things anyway.

As for what heart means? It really doesn't matter because that first commandment covers the heart, soul, strength and mind. Nothing left of us, if we love God fully except what he wanted of us all along.

Spurgeon wrote a daily devotion. He also suffered depression all his life. Depression is real. So is God. God can take us places with or without physiological depression. I suspect he'll help you realize your salvation and sanctification has no bearing to the depression, just as my disabilities have no bearing on mine. Glorification is coming.

Isaiah 53:1-4 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
