The whole idea about this convo was for you to show me where in Scripture where it said a BELIEVER who does not repent of certain sins, after a period of time, they lose their salvation.....NONE of your Scriptures which you have posted show this at all.

No matter how you look at it , no matter how many scriptures are thrown around, and there have been many. This whole conversation is just sad ,down right sad ,by the saved and unsaved alike.I wonder if yall even hear what it sounds like right now??

Carpet, it is sad.....Sad that many will go to the lake of fire because they believe in their works for salvation. Sinnner declares its not by works that gets one saved, yet he posts many verses above which speak about discipleship(ie:righteous works as a Christian), as something that he thinks is required for one to not lose salvation. That is a works gospel.

In this last passage, Jesus answered the question about being saved by mentioning entering through the kingdom doors. He also stated we will need personal effort to get in. This is Jesus’ teaching, not mine or some other Christian’s. Jesus taught an instant salvation through repenting and submissively trusting in himself for salvation, but also taught a continuous effort on man’s part (to stay spiritually alive) to enter God’s kingdom doors. A raging spiritual battle is going on with the forces of darkness as they try to lead you astray and cause you to fall from grace (Gal. 5:2-4); shipwreck your faith in Jesus (1 Tim. 1:19,20); get you to become immoral, impure and greedy (Eph. 5:5-7); etc.

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" Titus 3:5

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"a continuous effort on mans part" is clearly works! This is ****able heresy. And sadly, many will go to the lake of fire because of believing a false gospel.

So if a Christian repented of most of their sins but forgot one, then they will become unsaved based on this theology. You passed from death to life the moment you believed in the Son(John 3:36, John 5:24). You "shall not come into condemnation".......That means NEVER.

I am not advocating Christians to not repent of their sins, I repent of them all the time, because I should know better as a Christian!

I can see Sinnner, you merely copy and pasted your passages from here:

http://www.netbiblestudy.net/new_page_11.htm

Rely on the Word of God, not some site that mishandles Scripture...And if you do use a website here and there, make sure it is in accordance to the Word...

Thats it, you got it. Thats what I do. I confess my sins that I can remember and ask for forgiveness of the ones I may have missed. Thats all.

I dont confess my sins daily to remain saved Sinnner......I confess them to restore an earthly fellowship with my Father(who will NEVER disown me). He treats Christians as sons and chastises us when we are disobedient children(Hebrews 12:5-7). For example, a son who disobeys his father gets punished. The father doesn't disown him(ie:cast him out), but spanks him/punishes him as child-training, because he LOVES him and wants the little boy to grow in fellowship.

God never reveals anything contrary to the Word of God. No one has quoted ANY relevant Scripture that says if we do not repent of certain sins we will become lost again. That is because there IS NO SUCH Scripture.......Christians repent of their sins to maintain a good relationship with the Father, not to remain saved......Just because I disobey my dad does not make me not his son anymore, it makes me a disobedient son!

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," Ephesians 1:13

"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30

You can grieve the Holy Spirit....But it also gives a PROMISE here! We are sealed unto the day of redemption!

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10:28-29

"No man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand". So what does that mean? No man! You, me, anyone CANNOT pluck yourself out of the Father's hand! I find it really discouraging that many professing Christians today are unsure or think they can do something to lose salvation.....Let the Word of God speak for itself.

so if thats what you want then, read this aloud. jk, but u asked for scriptures so here it is:

Hebrews 10:26-39 (New International Version)

26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"[a] and again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. 33Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. 34You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37For in just a very little while,
"He who is coming will come and will not delay.
38But my righteous one[c] will live by faith.
And if he shrinks back,
I will not be pleased with him."[d] 39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.

isn't that clear enough????? God bless anyway heheh :D

i wanna emphasize btw

26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God

35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

And if he shrinks back,
I will not be pleased with him."[d] 39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.

so.. tell me, what did Paul mean? and if we deliberately keep on sinning after we have receievd the knowledge of truth, what does that mean?
and it is also written, that we need to persevere to receive what He has promised. and if we shrink back (which means we have already been there - saved) He will not be pleased.

geez, i want this to be my last post on this thread. i hope so.

Abby, receiving the KNOWLEDGE of the truth saves no one...I can present the gospel to my friends(they hear head knowledge) and they can either accept it or refuse it...Your passages speak of the unsaved.....Who live in willful sin...It is by trusting Jesus that anyone is ever saved:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. " Romans 10:9-10

It is a matter of the heart! I often find Hebrews and James as often misquoted by those who criticize eternal security because they dont understand passages in context......

I meant to say Hebrews 10:26-29 is speaking of the unsaved in my previous post...There is no Biblical support for your theory of Christians going to hell if they dont do enough good works/fail to do them...........
