You have zero proof that Elijah body wasn’t whirlwind to heaven but is worm food.

2 kings 2
11 And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
I never said Elijah was not taken to heaven in a whirlwind. God did take Elijah to heaven that way. What I said is that Elijah didn't leave Earth through the normal process of dying.

How did the Gentiles get the Holy Spirit before having their sins remitted in water baptism?
I appreciate your asking me this question because it prompted me for the Lord's direction.
A human being can receive God' Holy Spirit while their sins are still present in the body. This is confirmed by the record of Zacharias being filled, and his son John the Baptist from his mother's womb. (Luke 1:15, 67)

God directed my attention to 1 Thessalonians:
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thess 5:23

The scripture indicates that the spirit and soul and body are separate parts of a human being. And as such, the spirit can be blameless while the soul and body are not, etc. In considering this it is easy to see that the three components of a man are addressed separately in the spiritual rebirth experience. The soul in repentance, the body through water baptism in Jesus' name, and the spirit by being infiltrated by God's Spirit.

Lastly, it clear that without the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the spiritual rebirth referenced above would not have been made available to man at all. It is only by the grace of God that man is given a way to access, through obedience to God's commands, forgiveness for their personal sins and receive the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit of God.

I would offer.

That parable was used as vision an inspiration that enters our flesh mind just like that of Elias with Moses . They were used to represent the two witnesses. . . the law and the prophets .

In effect just as in Luke 16 if they hear not the law and the prophets (sola scriptura) then neither will they believe if someone rose for the dead.

Elijah Simply a picture of the rapture the last day. Corrupted flesh and blood could never enter heaven, it return to dust.

His bones are somewhere just as Moses are they are both hid as a parable that compliment each other. .

Mark 9:4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

We walk by faith that alone comes from hearing all things written in the law and the prophets. . . .not by sight as the Pagan foundation.

Peter the denier had that kind of idealism (faithless). When he spread a false oral tradition eulogizing dead flesh (John 21) . Jesus in response to that informs us that if every time he had to corrected the lies that tend to glory in the flesh the whole world would not be able to hold the books that could be written .

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

The Word makes mention that there is a foundation that the Christian life must build upon. Notice it includes repentance, baptism, laying on of hands... (Holy Ghost) instruction concerning resurrection and eternal judgment. These are the basics; the milk. The foundation is crucial without it nothing else stands:
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment." Heb 6:1-2

Jesus is the author of salvation to all that OBEY Him. Belief requires obedience:

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" Heb 5:9

But the Bible is specific on that Elias clothes fell off him when he was whirlwind up, to say his bones are in the earth is a stretch.

Gen 6:3 is reference to the flood,

Genesis 6:3
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

To say corrupted flesh and blood could enter heaven the new order is a impossibility. Flesh and blood are used in parables like with Elijah used to represents the prophets. A picture of the rapture of those reigning on earth when the last day comes they will meet in the clouds or presence of God..

2 Corinthians 5:7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:).......flesh and blood

Just as with Moses to represent the law of God that will not enter the new heavens and earth. His bones are hid for another reason

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
