Anyone have any idea why the clothes of King David would literally be shaken right off his body as he danced before the Lord in worship? I'm just curious as to why that would have happened.

Why would anyone want to search out those kinds of videos on the internet and bring them here? they will just stir up strife.

I think it is pretty clear we have a lot of cessationists who are members but also many who move in the gifts of the Spirit...so what will happen is the cessationists will think aha, aha, we were right all along, and those who move in the gifts will feel the need to defend themselves and make comments like we shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater...which we shouldn't, of course.

Cessationists will say it is all occult and demonic and Spirit filled believers will feel they are being accused of something.

We all have to work out what is pleasing to God, and I am pretty sure that is not the same thing as what is pleasing to man. It isn't going to get anyone anywhere if our sphere of experience is only going to include what things are commonly seen and humanly acceptable.....we need to grow in faith and trust God.

We know that it is promised that people will dream dreams and see visions in the last days. If someone gets a vision that is apocalyptic, or a serious personal warning for someone, for instance, it is bound to be an emotional experience...not something you could remain unmoved with.

So for starters it is best not to label all emotional displays as "occult", in case it is in fact God Who is providing the vision by the Holy Spirit.

Just saying...that to call something demonic that might be the Holy Spirit, is getting very close to the kind of blasphemy that cannot be forgiven...so best be careful.

Miraculous events, such as what has been seen in various revivals, occur wherever humans have faith to believe that God is bigger than their circumstances and able to miraculously meet their needs. This will mean that our sphere of experience is expanded to become real testimony, which surely we all want and need.

We ought not to be putting God in any kind of box.

Shaken off? How do you know he didn't take them off? Let's not put David in the Shaker camp LOL, maybe a streaker, but not one who became uncontrollable over himself as seen in the video.

There is such a thing as testing the spirits and that baby don't pass.

1 Corinthians 14:32-33 (KJV)
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
1 John 4:1 (KJV) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

I think the Bible plays it out just a bit differently. Our man, David, got down to some really primitive drums.

Why would anyone do their research and stay on guard? We are commanded to. The watchman on the wall is to sound a trumpet when the enemies of the cross are infiltrating the camp.
To expose them and warn others. Millions of born again Christians who are to lazy to do their own research, need to be warned of the apostasies that are leading to the one world church and government the anti -Christ will rise from.

You need to thank God someone is shining the light on all the madness.

Turn off dancing with the stars and start sounding the alarm! Get out of the wagon and help push!

If I thought it was staying on guard I would be glad. But in my gut I feel it is just another avenue of heresy that intends to discredit the working of God, very subtly, by showing an unacceptable extreme.

Cessationism is that heresy. Don't touch it with a barge pole!!!

Well, I had to turn it off also. I might go back and try to watch it but what I did see was not of God - I can't say the whole thing was off because I didn't have the stomach to wat

The thing that came to mind when I first started watching, actually several things that came to mind 1) the way the "emotionalism" was being pumped up . . . 2) And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets - IOW, men (women) of God are in complete control (no possession), 3) For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (that certainly did not give me peace) 4) Let all things be done decently and in order.

Wow! Some of you are good. I only got to about 30 seconds, then just started feeling creepy and shut it off. I don't need my spirit to be exposed to that kind of nonsense.

"And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ," Phil. 1:9-10

This is my standard, and what I judge everything by - The Word of God

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

With regards to the video and these false prophets:

"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds." 2 Cor. 11:13-15

"See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ." Col. 2:8

"If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain." 1 Tim. 6:3-5

"For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." Matt 24:24

Well, did you not laugh when you suggested they might use Scripture to verify what they were doing with the music and dance? Of course you did. And all I was saying was what you said was true. The music was not unbiblical.

We may not like what they are saying, but you DID post a video that made fun of the music and instruments.... and I was pointing out that we so often blast EVERYTHING a strange group like this does, in an effort to paint them as poorly as we can... when there was nothing wrong with some of what they were doing. So, why include ridicule of the instruments and music? Why not simply just point out what we think is wrong?

Oh, I would mostly agree with you actually. There is nothing wrong with rejoicing in the spirit with music and dance, no matter how weird it looks to us. It wasnt the music and dance thing that bothered me. The video did say something about how they believe they can pass the "auras" or whatever with the music (cant remember the exact words), and that seems more like a witch craft thing to me, I mean its definitely not biblical. And I also dont believe we can connect with Christ and become one with him through the magic of drums and chanting. If it were just people rejoicing in the spirit with drum and dance, Id actually totally support it, but not what they were doing.

But yeah, I would agree with your point.

That's an urban legend! David wasn't naked, 2Sam.6:14 and 1Chron.15:27 testify to the fact that David wore a "linen ephod". Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Yeah, his wife had a fit about him prancing around in front of the servant girls for no reason.
