Funny, I consider myself friends with most people here. If I believe something I stand by it, I'm strong on it and I'm direct. But I don't think I take things overly personally. I do get sarcastic sometimes when people get too much to handle. But I don't think of people here as my enemy. I just may say to my pc "moron" when I talk to certain people. And you will never know who
you and i argue sometimes but on other matters, things i consider much more importat, we are 100% agreed without even having discussed them before.

i do think of you as my friend, and sister :)

Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we are one body, especially when we worship Him.
i agree -- and i see how that when we are not agreed, it is usually ((if not always)) because we are not focused on Him.
when we are all giving Him all glory, we are one. i suspect you can boil just about every argument in the BDF down to that

That's why I figure a lot of what goes on here must be organized and premeditated.
No there is no cabal here organizing and premeditating anything. This is a free speech forum, so you will find the entire spectrum of view -- from atheistic to biblicistic. The administrators are to be commended for staying out of the majority of discussions. There are other Christian forums which actually have thought police and ban people who express views contrary to their own incorrect views.

Well, that isn't so unusual. Since the beginning, the disciples, apostles, and brethren had disagreements and different perspectives. Sometimes it's due to intentional vagueness:
i believe God has good intention when He is intentionally vague --

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
(Proverbs 25:2)

yes

i think here at CC is a pretty good balance of freedom of speech & thought vs. jurisdiction over spreading clear heresy.

there are forums i have visited where any questioning or dissension is squashed, so there is no discussion or growth outside of indoctrination to the forum leaders traditions.
there are also forums i have visited where every conceivable heresy is openly preached and the only thing discouraged is personal criticism.

we could certainly do some things better, but we're not so terrible after all. most of what i think we should work on is gentleness towards each other and taking time to really understand what each other is saying before we respond passionately. maybe the biggest problem we have is mistaking objections to doctrine with objections to people.
it's easy to forget, i guess, with the internet and all, that we are talking to actual people. infallible, emotional people that need to be handled with love

"JAPOV, post: 4783412, member: 312574"]In the time of Nimrod, men still knew how many generations removed they were from Adam and Eve. Men knew precisely the God they were rebelling against despite their knowledge of God. Do you not find it interesting that, when we all gather together, even in God's name, we find no accord?

Claiming ownership of what God has provided freely, World conquest through subjugation, And denying God has been at the heart of man's downfall since Cain and Abel... What monument to man's arrogance and greed have we built despite God today?

referencing the heavy type above

what?
IMO this is part of the tower of Babel question

what were they doing?

it was led by Nimrod ((per tradition, i believe it's correct)) -- whose name means rebellion
they did it to make a name for themselves, contradicting God -- to praise themselves, rather than God, and to concentrate themselves, rather than go out into all the world
for this God threw their languages into confusion. that is perfect justice and wisdom, for what they did. for Nimrod's rebellion

it's humanism; celebrating human will over God's sovereignty -- which, human will is His sovereign gift

if that makes sense?
so from the beginning -- i can make the same argument about Cain and what he did -- man glorified himself instead of God. and even now, Babylon is spiritually present & even dominant among us, even in many parts of the visible church. placing glory in mankind rather than God; glorifying and emphasizing human will and effort above Him, and putting human ideas in front of God's thoughts and ways.

it is maybe kinda complex, but i agree with @JAPOV on those parts

No doubt. I believe it also tells us it isn't a problem if there are varying interpretations within groups of believers.

Are you suggesting that argument for the sake of argument is good for the spirit?
for my part i think i need a better definition of what you mean by 'for the sake of argument' -- an hypothesis may be proven through rigorous examination, by sharp criticism and scrutiny, so that what stands up & remains under examination is shown to be pure. that is valuable -- an hypothesis that is never criticized remains little more than opinion.

but certainly to be divisive only for division's sake, or for self-aggrandizing, without respect for the truth, is evil.

we are counselled to buy the truth -- who buys what they have not laid hand or eye on? is such a consumer wise?

i have been here many years, said things that i thought would get me tossed out many times, but i am still here. this site is 100% free speech.

Lol sorry bout this but it’s how
My head works when I see your posts

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:44-46‬ ‭KJV‬

what pearls Of worth in our lords word
i am the field - He gave everything to purchase me

He sees something in me, that i can't even find most of the time

so i call Him my Beloved

Well some people will argue with whatever is said simply for the sake of arguing. If you say the sky is blue and you have boatloads of science and personal experience backing you up, someone will still jump in and insist the sky is yellow and have nothing to back the opinion except that they feel it is true and therefore it is true. Someone else will be a nitpicker and say that it's not actually blue but turquoise and gets mad that you generalized. Then someone else is going to jump in wondering about why people arguing about the sky has gone on for 27 pages of posts and that the whole thing is ridiculous in which case people get mad and start posting about how they can post about the sky if they want to and if the sky-hater doesn't like it, they can stop reading the thread, which will go on for another 14 or 15 pages of posts eventually getting to the point where someone else begins complaining about the thread being off-topic and another person telling that person that they are being off-topic for complaining about others being off topic. In the meantime one or two others start announcing how horrible people are in the thread which will obviously mean that others will object and go on for 47 pages of posts about how wonderful people are and how it's the best place ever and that their ancestors felt the same when they were alive. Then of course someone naturally declares that they agree with the OP that the sky is blue, which starts everything all over again from the beginning!

(Now i haven't been on this forum long enough to know if this cycle happens regularly here, but it seems to be fairly common with forums in general. :) )
hmm would you accept..

Though you lie down among the sheepfolds,
you will be like the wings of a dove covered with silver,
and her feathers with yellow gold.
(Psalm 68:13)
therefore the sky is yellow, despite the 'traditions of men' i.e. NASA/democrats/calvinists/feminists?

lol i'm kidding, i'm kidding!!
