Disagreeing is one thing. Attempting to wound and damage the conscience of another person is a completely different game. When we berate and belittle, we are trying to [hurt] and [beat] someone into changing to become a better person. That . . . is insanity.

It's like saying, "Here. Let me degrade and belittle you. And when all is settled and done, you'll change and become the person I want you to be. A person just like me."

That is pure sickness and I see it here each day. Every day.
A person can only damage their own conscience by committing sin (or social faux pas). It is impossible to damage the conscience of another.

It does happen occasionally (which I regret), but I very rarely belittle other persons. However, I have no hesitation about belittling ideas that are contrabiblical, illogical, or just plain dumb. The problem is that many people cannot separate their ideas from their identity, and so they get offended when their ideas fall under criticism.

I agree. Christ called it murder, and it is using this site for their sin.
No, He did not.

He related being angry to murder. He did not relate intentionally belittling others to murder.

John stated, "Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer" (1 John 3:15) but belittling others is still not the same thing. It's careless, unkind, unnecessary, and often hurtful, but it's not the same thing as hatred.

Let's not confuse the issues and thereby promote error.

But there is also people working together to determine correct interpretation of scripture. Scripture tells us to put up with the murders, and resist not evil., hard as that is. But we learn through the debates.
I hear what you're saying, but I learn nothing from being belittled, berated, and mocked. They're not offering anything.

As for debate, I'm not interested. I'd rather just share what I know; listen to what others have to share, and then talk about it. Debating, by nature, means that no one is likely to change their position, for the goal of debating is to win. I'm not here to win . . . I'm here to share what I have and receive what I don't have.

My mind is open. I am flexible . . . and willing to adapt and change. I'm certainly willing to be berated and belittled; in fact, a part of me finds it amusing, knowing that these people (or bots) would never say these things to my face. I am amused by cowards. That said, my eyes are open as well are my ears. But to engage with a person whose ears and eyes are not open . . . these people are easy to spot and I would rather not engage.

Matt. 5:21-22 y "You have heard that it was said to those of old, z 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable a to judgment.' 22 But I say to you that b everyone who is angry with his brother 1 will be liable a to judgment; whoever insults 2 his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to c the hell 3 of fire.

Sorry. labeling others only earns hell fire.

Really? So Paul is in hell then...

Galatians 2:11 When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.

Galatians 3:! You foolish Galatians!

Galatians 3:10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”

I'd like to know who the MODs are here. Who's facilitating this public perpetual "Christian" discord?
I've always thought this site should be called "Christian Spat"

Is that to say "YOU" have mastered God's word and the rest of us should just shut up and listen? By what authority do you belittle ideas?

By what emotional state of mind do you only pretend to hate?

yes I feel it’s because we interpret rather than believe and let the Bible explain what it means
And how do we interpret? We look upon ourselves and use our behaviors to determine the meaning of Scripture. We need to let Scripture show us who we are and who we are not.

We will be known by our fruit. Pft . . . I ignored that idea during my pre-Transformed years. How shameful.

Is it possible that we focus too much, and take way too much pride, in our own accumulated knowledge rather than God's will?

Or at least a portion of your reward in heaven... We are all guilty. Faith and forgiveness are God's gift, and a testament to His character.

And this particular forum, ‘Bicker and Debate’. 😎
The BDF gets a lot of flak from certain members in other CC forums... where broad-brushing perhaps
helps them feel superior while they too partake of the very behaviors they claim to despise.

MODs do their best. IMO there's a difference in people here. Some come for debate and know how to do that and walk away, still being friends. Then there are some who come with a message, and if you debate them, they totally lose it because they are trying to teach some special private message God gave only them. We just had someone here who believed they were completely sinless. When they were challenged, they went off the beam and got nasty with everyone who spoke to him. He was banned.
