There are similarities between the Torah, which many scholars believe reached final form in the 5th Century BC under Ezra, and the cuniform of the Gilgamesh story, which is known to be of greater antiquity. I have to tread lightly here, this sort of discussion might not be suited for this forum.
No. Around 17 books are said to be with the Hezekiah mark. The canonization in mass started with King Hezekiah. There's a need in Ezra's time to unify the versions as it is expected there is a discrepancy between the different versions of Scripture kept by different groups/sects/tribes of the Jews after the exile due to the absence of an authenticated entity acting as the 'publisher'.

One interesting thing we found was the 11th Tablet of the Gilgamesh Epic, and it appears to have been cribbed by certain scribes during the Babylonian Vacation to create Genesis 7-9.
Date of composition and date of earliest recovered record are two very different things. Having a very old copy of Gilgamesh does not on its own indicate it predates the Torah.

As far as we know, Hebrews recorded the Torah on parchment which tends to decay.

Mesopotamian cultures wrote on clay tablets. These are very durable.

That the oldest recovered written records come from Egypt and (old) Babylon is not at all surprising, and does not by itself indicate Hebrews borrowed from them. The authority and antiquity of the scriptures may be established also by other means. The non-scriptural writings cannot.

Jesus, questioned in the house of Caiaphas:

"Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."
Absolutely right ! I have been trying to explain the difference between 'begotten and 'born again for more than 30 years but it's all falling on 'deaf ears, hope you are more successful !
Why? Why are you trying to explain the difference?

those born of The ONE who came forth from GOD who is alone the visible image of the invisible GOD and the exact representation of HIS BEING and the full radiance of HIS GLORY don't really need your "help" In explaining the difference between the ONE AND ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER from those BORN AGAIN OF HIA LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT

They know

Whenever the three days and three nights of Matthew 12:40 is brought up in a "discussion" with 6th day crucifixion folks, they frequently argue that it is a Jewish idiom for counting any part of a day as a whole day. I wonder if anyone has documentation that shows that the phrase "x" days and "x"nights was ever used in the first century or before when it didn’t include at least parts of the "x" days and at least parts of the "x" nights?

There were two Sabbaths the week Jesus was crucified, which many expositor miss:

Jesus was in His tomb three days and three nights. What day was He crucified on?

What Day of the Week Was Christ Crucified?

IMO, I see Mt.12:40 fulfilled in the following way:

The Hebrew day begins at sunset the day before and fulfills the prophecy:

Wednesday @ sunset = Thursday = 24 hours

Thursday @ sunset = Friday = 24 hours = Passover Sabbath

Friday @ sunset = Saturday =24 hours = seventh day Sabbath

Sunday morning, first day of the week = Jesus resurrected.

Describes Jesus in the tomb for three days abd three nights, confirming Mt.12:40.

From another source: What Day of the Week Was Christ Crucified?

I read the article above and found some problems,
for one is claiming there leaving Egypt the next morning.

•The Lord striking all the firstborn of Egypt
•Their leaving Egypt the next morning

They were instructed to be ready to leave at daybreak the next morning
which was still the 14th. (Ex. 12:1-13).

"Please notice in all three citations above the instructions were the same
before and after the Israelites left Egypt, except they didn't have to leave
the next morning on a long trip. This fact will be very important to our study".

The events of the Passover occur in the 14th. And the events of the
first day of Unleavened Bread occur in the 15th!

Exodus 12:21-22 the Israelites were not to leave their houses until morning.
If they did, they would have died. This is why they were to burn their leftovers
the next morning (verse 10).the morning after the Passover is still the 14th
—the day time portion of the 14th.

Deuteronomy 16:1 says they left Egypt “by night.” Their exodus from Egypt
then had to be that following night, or the night of the 15th.

This was to be a “night to be much observed” (Exodus 12:42).
This is confirmed in Numbers 33:3: “And they departed …
on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow AFTER the passover .…”

the spoiling of the Egyptians (Exodus 12:33-36). This could have only taken place on the
afternoon of the 14th, just hours before [the Israelites left Egypt the night of the 15th].

This fact will change most what is wrtten in that article

Well when I said
"This fact will change most what is wrtten in [that article]"
I was refering to the article you posted that claimed morning departure.

"Please notice in all three citations above the instructions were the same
before and after the Israelites left Egypt, except they didn't have to leave
the next morning on a long trip. This fact will be very important to our study".
they give 3 citations[not reposted] that would be [changed] on this error.

On your origanel post #305 I agreed there was 2 Sabbaths that week,
but I did not say any more about your layout then.

but now that you brought it up.
first you claim that the 2 Sabbaths where back to back

Thursday @ sunset = Friday = 24 hours = Passover Sabbath

Friday @ sunset = Saturday =24 hours = seventh day Sabbath
Mark 16:1 says Mary Magdalene and her companions bought spices
“when the sabbath was past.” They were planning to prepare these
ointments and spices so that they might anoint the body of Jesus.

Yet Luke 23:56 says they prepared these spices and then rested on
the weekly Sabbath day. Compare these two texts carefully.

can that view be true, in light of clear bible verses?

Jesus crucified on a Wednesday afternoon and buried later that evening,
before sunset. The next day, Thursday, was an annual sabbath. The day
after that, was preparation day for the regular weekly Sabbath.

Christ inspired four different Gospel accounts to be written so that all the
important details of His life might be canonized. Mark said these women
bought the spices after the sabbath was past. Luke said they prepared
the spices before the Sabbath arrived.

So why didn't Mary Magdelene and Jesus' mom and sis come to the tomb to prepare his body properly on Friday? We only hear about them coming on Sunday morning.

The fact of the matter is, my post #305 confirms what Jesus said in Mt.12:40. That He would be in the ground three days and three nights. Let me see your outline of the fulfillment of Mt.12:40 as I laid it out to see just how you verify the three days and three nights in the ground.

They never came on saturday morning.. They came at the end of the Sabbath at the start of the first day of the week.. That was Saturday sunset...

They came on the end of the High sabbath on thursday sunset because it was the first time they could legally work of the Body of Jesus.. But as we know the Jewish Authorities had placed guards on the tomb to stop anyone from stealing the Body of Jesus and falsely claim that he was risen from the dead... So they could not reach the Body of Jesus because the tomb was sealed and guarded..

Per the Hebrew reckoning in those days, the regular weekly sabbath began at sunset Friday and ended sunset Saturday (as it still does today for orthodox Jews). It was forbidden to do any work on the sabbath. They came to the tomb early SUNDAY morning, the first day of the week, to finish the burial procedure.

They did not do it on friday because there was not time. They had to go and buy the spices - perhaps a return-journey of several hours - then prepare the ointment suitable for anointing - a few more hours.
People are not machines nor did they have the 'mod-cons we have today....everything had to be laboriously done on foot or by hand. They also needed time to rest and eat...no quick 'convenience snacks/meals then !

but friday was also preperation day for the regular 7th day Sabbath,
where they had to prepare both days food on friday

first we can not get a clear picture with just one verse.

yes Jesus was in the tomb for three hole days and three hole nights,
other verses besides mt 12:40 confirm this also.
Mark 8:31, Mark 9:31, Matthew 27:63 and John 2:19-21.

the expression “three days and three nights” in Jonah 1:17 refers to a 72-hour period.

“Are there not twelve hours in the day? … But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth,”

the very first book of the Bible: “… and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening
and the morning were the first day. … And the evening and the morning were the
second day… And the evening and the morning were the third day” (Genesis 1:4-13)

-
my first point was that you had 2 sabbaths back to back in your layout,
which the bible verses posted showed that could not happen.

-
Sunday morning, first day of the week = Jesus resurrected.
now my next point is your layout is saying that Christ arrose on Sunday morning,
where in the bible is this said?

plenty verses show a 24 hr day, times 3 = 72 hrs or 3 days.
plenty verses show Christ in the tomb just before dark,

If he was buried at dusk, or tomb sealed at or right before twilight,
he would have to arrise the same time 3 days later,
but people say 3 days is not 3 days, but partial days.

just because there was an earth quake, stone rolled away,
but the guards did not see him ,does not say that he just then arose,
on the contrary, no one say him,he did not need the stone rolled away,
that was for us,he was long gone, bible says while it was still dark outside.

my point is A Sunday morning sunrise service is false,
the bible does not even tell us to celebrate the day He was resurected

Jesus was crucified and buried on Wednesday, preparation day, before sunset. Passover was on Thursday, beginning at sunset Wednesay. Friday, beginning at sunset Thursday, is not back to back with the weekly Sabbath beginning at Sunset on Friday.

Thursday @ sunset = Friday = 24 hours = Passover Sabbath

Friday @ sunset = Saturday =24 hours = seventh day Sabbath
I thought you listed Thursday at sunset to Friday at sunset as passover Sabbath,
then next day, Friday at sunset to saturday at sunset as seventh day Sabbath.

would that not be 2 Sabbaths in a row back to back?

how can that be when Christ was crucified and buried on the very passover day itself?
not the next day. Passover was preperation day of the first day of unlevined bread

The three Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke show that on the night Jesus Christ
was betrayed, He and His disciples prepared and kept the Passover
(Mark 14:12, 16; Luke 22:15).

[The Jews], however, kept it 24 hours later (John 18:28).
the Jews who today keep Passover on the wrong day.

The children of Israel were commanded to keep the Passover on the 14th of Nisan

Leviticus 23: “These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations,
which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord’s passover”
that this is God’s Passover—not the Jews’—and the day it is to be kept is
the 14th, not the 15th. God reveals that the days are to begin and end at even,
or sunset (see Leviticus 23:32; Deuteronomy 16:6; Psalm 104:19).

The Passover begins at sunset at the beginning of the 14th.
The Jewish community observes their Passover on the 15th
beginning at sunset, as any standard Western calendar will show.

Leviticus 23:6 tells us that the first day of Unleavened Bread is on the 15th

the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed “in the evening” (Exodus 12:6) on the 14th
“In the evening” is better translated “between the two evenings,” which literally
means between sunset and dark. Deuteronomy 16:6 confirms this when it says
the lamb was sacrificed “at even, at the going down of the sun.” Gesenius’ Lexicon
says this about the phrase “at even”: “the time between sunset and deep twilight.”

Exodus 12:8 says the Israelites were to eat the Passover meal “in that night.”
the one mentioned in verse 6: the 14th. After that, God smote the firstborn “this night”

Numbers 28:16
“And in the fourteenth day of the first month
is the passover of the Lord”

Leviticus 23:5-6
5In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.

6And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread
unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.-

the name passover
God passed over the houses that had the blood of the lamb on their doorpost.
God also passes over (forgives) our sins when we repent of them and come
under the shed blood of Jesus Christ our Passover, sacrificed for us.

When the Hebrew children would ask about this service years later, the parents were
to respond, “It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover” (Exodus 12:27).

this is God’s Passover—and God said “the fourteenth day of the first month at even
is the Lord’s passover” (Leviticus 23:5).

Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not
remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for [that] sabbath day was an high day,)
besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

thursday-The High Day here is the First Day of Unleavened Bread...
