Warrior of Christ, I appreciate that at least you have not attacked me personally.

I only trust Jesus, do I listen to other teachers, pastors on occasion.

Do I test the spirits as we are exhorted to do always, and I do my due diligence always.
That I have put up a caution signal is not to slander but exactly that to be cautious and investigate further.

Sure people are allowed to preach/teach but on the receiving end we are to test the spirits always. If I have a concern it is because of things that the person has said or done.

I watched the video however, since people's emotions always seem to get in the way, I will have to refrain from anything I would have said positive or negative.

Have a great day!

Do you go to church? If you do then you are trusting your pastor. Do you not believe in evangelism? Because with your logic of not trusting then people should never go out and witness because God is the only one to be trusted. Matter of fact, we wouldn't even have Christianity with your logic.

I don't believe UnderGrace meant to slander at all. I was going to post some hours ago about (waiting) to hear more about people before making general assessments or judgments about associations. There is way too much jumping the gun sort of speak going on in the Christian "world" We do need to extend grace right from the start and immediately and strive to make it a habit imo.

Joel Osteen is a prime example. I've seen people take that guy apart limb by limb. But I've listened to Joel a lot apart from the hype and although he isn't my daily cup of tea., I find no fault in him and see how he lifts up Jesus. I look at Joel O. and this Todd White guy and apply the same logic. 2 very different men of God. Both preaching Jesus Christ in their own way. One preaches in a church and on tv, wears a suit and tie with white teeth and perfect hair., The other speaks in the city streets among other places, wears jeans and a tee shirt and his hair is styled in those dreadlocks.

It takes time to hear out people. It takes more than a few messages I've found. There is much more to people than what we first heard or see of them. And we don't have to 'rush' to assess people. Also., seeing how people I've known and respected for a long time on CC have already heard him and approve of him speaks volumes to me as well. There is no rush to figure out what column people need to be put in.

Being a good listener is an art and not many of us have this art down pat. I put myself in that group that needs to be a better listener.
I would have to disagree with your assessment on comparing Todd to Joel but we can't agree on everything :)

I think Joel's teaching reaches certain people who might run, screaming out of a venue where Todd was speaking.

I see Joel Osteen as someone who exhorts people, which is a gift according to scripture. He gets people's eyes off their circumstances and onto the promises of God. He emphasizes the faithfulness of God to watch over His children. How someone can be opposed to this, I don't know. I am saying that in criticism of those who strongly oppose him, not you personally.

See! That just goes to show we all will not agree on everything but we can agree to disagree. Especially in a Christian chat site were people from all walks of life meet. And, I'm only comparing the two on what I do know and not on what I don't. You know Todd much better than I since I only heard of him since last night. I do however know of Joel O. and I have a good opinion of him based on what I've actually decided from hearing him and observing him over the years.

Well said brother Ben. Very much agree with you here on all counts.

Yes I agree we should test everything. I feel people can have dialogue without attacking each other. I have fell into the attacking role a few times on here and it never solved anything. I also feel we as Christians need to really do our research on people we listen to and not make any quick judgements about pastors, evangelists etc... I truly believe that some of the things people on the forum disagree with results from tradition and how they were raised in certain denominations. This leads to the arguments and the hateful slurs that happen on here.

I have been critical of Todd in the past myself. I agree with you that we should be talking about Jesus when we are out ministering in any particular ministry. I have said this about mission trips and I believe we can't just go out and heal without talking about Jesus. I have been watching Todd for a few years now and I believe his message is spot on but the street ministry is what I was critical about. I think Todd has grown some in the last few years and has stepped up his ministry to include a salvation message along with his healing ministry.

One thing we really can't say is that Todd isn't on fire for the Lord. His love seems to be very genuine and I believe that is the greatest gift he has from the HS.

Yep we sure can. I have watched Joel and don't care for his ministry at all. I'm not going to call him a heretic or anything, just not my cup of tea.

and people like you push people away from the Gospel instead of drawing them to, making up stuff that is not in the Bible ( fashion police).

there is no such thing as " false grace". the only thing that would fall under that description would be saying that all you have to do is claim Christ as Lord, and then live anyway you want, do whatever you want,etc... but that has to said directly, not putting words in other people's mouths.

we are to speak the truth, which is we are saved by grace. if someone hears this and mis-understands what it means, then that is on them.

You have described the false grace teaching, as their teaching are,
"you can live how you want to, because it's not what we do, or don't do, It's all by grace"
JP said "we don't sin, We don't have our part to play, accept to receive God's righteousness, and we don't have to be holy".

The false grace teacher do just what you said, But when you are challenged, you say, "We're not saying that".

That's pretty clever of you... damn them for what they say, and just in case, damn them for what they don't say, also.

You are a very ill puppy.
Why on EARTH would you say this to your sister...?

He came to my church and it was a free event so everyone came to see him from all over. Which was pretty strange, because my church is in the middle of the country.

His sermon basically changed my life.
How did it change your life? I have a hard time getting videos at the moment, but this seems like an interesting sermon.

New Apostolic Reformation/ Latter Rain (Todd White part of this group)

Some key beliefs of the NAR:

We've entered a "2nd Apostolic Age" (starting in 2001); the church should take over the world (dominionism); a great end time harvest/outpouring will occur once we battle enough demons, perform enough miracles and unify under these new Apostles; God is giving new revelation to his Prophets/Apostles but they will make many mistakes in the process and that's okay, but following the Bible too closely makes you "religious" and narrow-minded...
:(:(
I am suspecting that the words that most bothered you are that following the bible too closely makes you religious and narrow minded. Just my guess. :)

I have recently seen men in this very forum who fit that description. They are following the bible so closely that they start thread after thread about how we should be following the OT laws. They are very religious and narrow minded. I try and try to see an ounce of my Lord in them but I can't.

They appear to not have the Spirit at all to me. I can't hear Him at all when they speak and post.

I have never heard this phrase - dominionism - but I do know that in the latter days God will pour out His Spirit and when we all begin to speak the same language of this Spirit in us, when we all speak this same language, the tower of babel will happen in reverse. We will all begin to speak the same language and then NOTHING we purpose to do will be impossible for us through Him!

I have a gift from God. I didn't think it was a gift at first but just saw it simply as God speaking to me, telling me to listen to a certain person or to go a certain way or to pay attention. I just mostly see it as His voice, which is still a gift! I get these goosebumps and waves washing over me. I feel it physically. I don't know if that's because I need it and others don't and I don't very often stress anymore over why I hear Him in this way but others don't.

It was quite a few years before I realized that this was a discerning of spirits and was God telling me to listen because the person was speaking in His Spirit.

So this is a gift, and it's How I hear Him. But it confuses me as to why someone should listen to me just because I am hearing God speaking this discernment to me. Because why should they believe me if God isn't telling them to listen too? So I think He maybe gives us all this discernment but we don't pay attention. But I could be wrong on that.

So, here is where, even after meeting together a lot in these threads and getting to know and cherish each other in our Lord, I think you may begin to think I am nuts and am off the rails, but I will tell the truth anyway and you will just have to listen for if the Spirit tells you I am being truthful or not.

When I hit play on the video in the op, the Holy Spirit washed over me in this very way that I have told you about. He told me to listen to this man. And that's good enough for me. I don't need to go searching in my bible because HE told me to listen. So my testimony is that this man is speaking by the Spirit in him. So there. I guess we all have to learn to hear and be extremely attentive to Him speaking in us. Because He said we would know His voice.

I'm going to find more of his videos, not because I want to see if he is speaking by the Spirit, with power, but because God confirmed to me that he was.

As if I wasn't "wrecked" as this man says, from the first video. Once again, the Spirit just washed over me and blessed me the whole video. If anyone can't see this is a true moving of the Spirit in this man then I just wouldn't even know what to say to them. I've scarcely begun to understand His grace and how abundant it is and now find that there is even more.

That was not playacting. None of it. Who cares that there are evil men and imposters when there are real men of God going and moving by His Spirit in them?

If you look at the title of this thread, You'll see it's about the twisted grace, [The false grace].
So I'm not derailing it.
