God also talks about people being righteous, so Calvinism must somehow have an answer to that
Jesus said "You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good?" (Matt 12)
But he was talking to the Pharisees who had just accused him of being possessed and sinned against Him and the Holy Spirit
He then continues "The good man brings good things out of his good store of treasure, and the evil man brings evil things out of his evil store of treasure "
How can he talk about "a good man" if Calvinism be true?
It sounds like Calvinism is cherry picking it's verses!
All have sinned but to say no-one can do anything good or gain divine favour does contradict verses such as this
Likewise the verse "Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit " Matt 7
The context of this passage is false prophets "Beware of false prophets" in verse 15
Or again the widow's mite "And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, worth less than a penny. He called his disciples and said to them, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the offering box than all the others. "
Doesn't sound like He thought her action was like a filthy rag Jesus obviously got it wrong. He should have said "You think that poor widow putting her last penny in is good? Not to me it isn't!"
How can anyone put their trust in it.
