As far as I have always heard, the ram's horn shofar is the precursor to the trump(et). Like the harp played in days of yore was nothing like the harp we have today, it was much smaller, and could be held in one hand while strummed with the other. No matter, the last trump will be sounded on a shofar as far as my understanding goes, but who knows, maybe it will be on something a little more modern. I don't think so. This is a detail, and I know folks like to be accurate about the Word. The very most important detail to know, and to know well is Jesus Christ and what He teaches us for Salvation. God bless you and all in Jesus Christ, and all who will come to Him, amen. (I think in terms of the ram's horn.)

You're right on track, shofar is the hebrew word for ram's horn. Which is blown for everything, except one. In Numbers 10:1-4 it talks about 2 beaten silver trumpets are to be blown to gather the assembly. (It refering to Shabbat) I love 'em. I have quite a few shofars and a beaten silver trumpet. It is so awesome to blow them, it's a sound all of there own.

Hi

If we are to not greet those that differ from our faith in Christ, how would we spread the good news. Paul went and talked to the greeks about the "unnamed God". The reason was so they may learn to know Him. We cannot sit idly by and not go amongst those to whom we are send. That would be a contridiction of our core.

As to your title... true doctrine. I ask you this... where is the Kingdom of God preached today...truthfully?

For many believe that entering the Kingdom of God is when you either gets raptured or when you are dead:
Yet...Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

It is clear as day that we must seek this out first. As a basis for our faith, for look and see:
Mat 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mar 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Mar 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Luk 4:43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
Luk 9:2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Luk 10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
1Co 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

and so on and so on....

My question is this... if most of Jesus teaching was about the Kingdom of God as well as those of His direct disciples... how come it isn't taught in the same manner anymore? How come you hear a whole lot of stories but not the Kingdom of God fully explained to the young and the old. To the wise and the ignorant. I have heard a lot of people claiming to have THE RIGHT RELIGION or FAITH or DENOMINATION. I have met quite a few different people of various different churches all believing that their way is the TRUE WAY. Yet if you go to their church you hear and see very little of the Kingdom of God being near to them? How then is it that they can know the TRUE DOCTRINE. I have heard so many people coming to say to me. They have the true path and the first time I ask them about their living relationship with God and what God tells them to do on a daily basis listening to His voice, and obeying His commandments, they all come up with some kind of "yes, we know and feel when we do wrong that God doesn't like it" or "God speaks through the messages that the preacher gives" or "doing the will of God is obeying His commandments" (which in essence is not false, but it is like my father. He has certain house rules which we would do as children, but sometimes his will was something as simple as making him a cup of coffee. People don't seem to get that obeying the rules isn't the entire will of God but that is just like obeying the "house rules". Doing the will of God is the true purpose of our being on a second basis. People are afraid to say they can hear the voice of God. Yet God talked to Peter and the other disciples through the Holy Spirit all the time. It is written. It is not maybe. It is written.

The other day someone asked me something and I shared some of my knowledge with him. He was extremely excited and asked where I got the information, because he has never heard or seen it before. So I answered him the truth: I received it by God telling it to me, cause I asked Him. Upon which he was shocked and I never heard from him again. One would swear I said I received it from demons. Is it so strange to hear God's voice if we are His chosen. His Called. His disciples. His children. After all isn't it written that my sheep will know my voice?

He could have said...my children would know which books to read...or which passages in the Bible to read. But no, He said my sheep will know MY VOICE.
Joh 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
Joh 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Yet many claim they HAVE the TRUE DOCTRINE.

If many don't even know the voice of the Great SHEPHERD, how on earth are they going to distinguish between the will of God and that which
isn't His will.

I absolutely agree, and may I say a big hardy AMEN!!!
