in a lot of English Bibles the saying is translated "soon" -- which i learned is not correct, it is "quickly"
i think this means that when the last things begin to occur, they will occur in relatively rapid succession - and that His coming will be in a sense '
sudden.' i believe this isn't so much expressing the amount of time between His first and second advent ((i.e. soon, though 'soon' to the Creator of the universe doesn't mean the same thing as it does to a human who may barely live 70 years)) as it is expressing the short period in which the last things take place. :)

i take it in your native language it is translated something like "quickly" ? that's cool.
Some Czech translations have "soon", some have "quickly". Most of them have "soon", like in English. But "quickly" can have a meaning of "soon", too.

Galaxies are so huge and we seem to be the only civilization in our own galaxy. We cannot know what is happening in other ones, they are too far away.

Maybe there is one civilization to colonize the whole galaxy? Its practically impossible to colonize other galaxies, if there is no way how to "cheat" with a travel faster than the speed of light.

Peter said that the universe will get old like a garment. Maybe its what science calls "heat death" of the universe. But it will happen after billions of years from now.

So, who knows what humanity will do in the future?

Or, maybe Jesus Christ will return before we will be able to even get to Mars :)

We are not even in level 1 civilization (planetary). We still use material from dead animals as our energy, we are pretty primitive.

But we are getting close to it. In few centuries we can reach that level.

The next step is solar civilization.

he also writes that the elements will be dissolved. many places the Bible describes space being 'stretched out' like a tent; it could be that 'waxing old' in this sense has something to do with fundamental forces analogous to the surface tension of water, as a bubble.

y'all do realize who you'd be calling aliens from outer space if Ezekiel 1 is about a UFO, right?
Aliens are simply not of this 'Earth. Fallen angels do not come from Earth, demons do not come from Earth. Our God is not from Earth. Aliens. The word Aliens only speaks of those not of Earth...How about a different dimension rather than outer space? Has it occurred to you that angels need tech to travel? They do not have wings other than a couple specific types of 'angel' who do not travel to speak of.

You have been watching too much Ancient Aliens on the TV. Those guys make it painfully clear that they teach aliens from space over Jehovah God in creation of the world and mankind. It's just another religion that denies God.

No angels do not need any technology to travel. But if evil angels wish to fool humans into thinking of them as aliens, then they will use technology.

you've heard people preach this, from behind pulpits?
i've seen people say it in conspiracy forums, and i know of some artists who express the idea; i've known about this interpretation for at least 15 years & expect it probably dates back to the 1950's, but that's not the same as "
the Church teaches this"

can you point me to someone on sermonaudio for example, or a church's website that has sermons available to stream/download? do you know of any published theologians who teach this?

What are those wings just for show?

That drawing is hilarious. A European-style house with a water wheel in semi-arid Bethel. Gotta have those high-pitched roofs to shed all of the snow.

There are people living on ISS, so its not just pure fantasy, we are able to create conditions to sustain life. Of course, the main problem is economical, not technological.

Jesus did not say that he will come in next 2000 or 3000 years. In Revelation He says "quickly", but its already 2000 years. Not very quick. So, it probably means something else...?
Jesus says wide is the road that most enter through, but the road that leads to life only a few find it. The word 'few' here means compared to the whole number. Because revelation tells us the saved will be like waters- too many to count.

In the same way, 'soon' compared to time thus far is still less time than from creation till the statement was made. So if you add up the genealogy from Adam till Christ, you'll see that the earth is less than 15,000 years old. One third of that amount of time (5,000 years after Christ, and it's only been 2018 years since christ) can still be considered 'soon' according to that whole amount of time.

Disclaimer: I am not claiming when Christ will return, it can be any moment. I'm just saying that even if it happened 3,000 years from now it would still be defined as 'soon'.

If we count genealogies according to masoretic text, we will get the age of humanity to be about 6,000 years.

If w count genealogies according to LXX, we will get the age of humanity to be about 7,000 years.

If we say that those genealogies are telescoped (and therefore there are various gaps between names), it can be whatever, from 7,000 years to 200,000 years. Its not useful for counting the age of humanity, in such a case.

If we say that humanity was not created in the beginning of cosmos, the universe can be billions of years old and may last another billions of years.

The ISS in only around a 100 miles in the sky so you can hardly call that space. It would be utter foolishness to send people to stay on the moons of Jupiter, because there's no benefit to anyone.

I would recommend some Bible study to help you understand the scriptures. You can't read the Bible like a novel, it takes time and effort to understand the scriptures properly.
