Jesus was not a Christian and he did not carry a bible.
He didn't even carry a torah. You need not be a Christian or carry a bible
to pick up your cross and deny thyself and follow Jesus. I would say that is 2000 years old.
You need not be a Christian or own a bible to obey the doctrine of Christ.
first of all, the term Christian refers to believers in Christ and has been used to determine those who follow Him
there were no Bibles when Christ walked the earth and why would He call Himself a follower of Himself?
Jesus knew the law. did you miss the passage where he was in the temple with the teachers of the law?
41 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. Luke 2
you can pick up 30 crosses and that will still not be the way to salvation. you do not get to decide how to follow Jesus. the Bible is clear on how to follow Him. you begin by admitting you are a sinner and believe that Jesus died for your sins. you accept him as the one who died in your place in order to satisfy the demands of God who is holy. those are the facts very briefly summed up and the way to follow Christ
you cannot follow Him your way or make up nonsense and say that you follow Him
the devil and his demons can quote scripture and will come as an angel of light to deceive people
you are not following Christ
