God is a God of the spirit, God thinks and acts spiritually. God created a nation of the flesh to work in a spiritual way, but when our spiritual God thinks of this nation, God thinks of it as a spiritual God thinks. . In order to understand the truth of God's relationship with us and with Israel, we have to think of it from God's spiritual point of view. Most of these posts are thinking of Israel as a fleshly nation with nothing to do with the spirit so that makes them in error.

Israel is an actual land that was promised to the Jews. It's not spiritual, it is literal.

You are missing many scriptures when you say you limit your understanding of Israel to a land mass.

It's a rather long back and forth, that was interrupted by a poster saying they are sinless and arguing with other posts. But the thread was supposed to be about whether the Jews are still God's chosen people, or has all their blessings gone to the church and the church has replaced Israel. That's the basic back and forth question. Hope that helps clear it up some.
We need a thank you icon

Thanks for the brief summary brother. How loud are we to laugh at sinness line? The only people I ever meet who claimed to be sinless were pridful and arogant.

Ok,so now that the troll is gone, let's settle in and discuss this without sarcasm. First things first. The covenant I am speaking of is the one that God made with Abram. And yes, it was unconditional. Not all the covenants were, but that one was. And all the other covenants rest back on the first one. So while the Jews lost use of the land they never lost the deed to the land. It's still promised to them and God will fulfill that promise.

What does Romans 11 say? You can answer all those questions by reading Romans 11.

There is still the land promise made to Israel, and God will keep it. If not, He would be a liar. Surely you don't believe that.
I thought this thread is about spiritual Israel, not the land. Am I mistaken when another nation takes over your land that means the deed has transfered.

Where is the unconditional in my next post?

Genesis 17
Common English Bible
God’s covenant with Abraham
17 When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am El Shaddai.[a] Walk with me and be trustworthy. 2 I will make a covenant between us and I will give you many, many descendants.” 3 Abram fell on his face, and God said to him, 4 “But me, my covenant is with you; you will be the ancestor of many nations. 5 And because I have made you the ancestor of many nations, your name will no longer be Abram but Abraham.[c] 6 I will make you very fertile. I will produce nations from you, and kings will come from you. 7 I will set up my covenant with you and your descendants after you in every generation as an enduring covenant. I will be your God and your descendants’ God after you. 8 I will give you and your descendants the land in which you are immigrants, the whole land of Canaan, as an enduring possession. And I will be their God.”

9 God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants in every generation. 10 This is my covenant that you and your descendants must keep: Circumcise every male. 11 You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskins, and it will be a symbol of the covenant between us. 12 On the eighth day after birth, every male in every generation must be circumcised, including those who are not your own children: those born in your household and those purchased with silver from foreigners. 13 Be sure you circumcise those born in your household and those purchased with your silver. Your flesh will embody my covenant as an enduring covenant. 14 Any uncircumcised male whose flesh of his foreskin remains uncircumcised will be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”

15 God said to Abraham, “As for your wife Sarai, you will no longer call her Sarai. Her name will now be Sarah. 16 I will bless her and even give you a son from her. I will bless her so that she will become nations, and kings of peoples will come from her.”

17 Abraham fell on his face and laughed. He said to himself, Can a 100-year-old man become a father, or Sarah, a 90-year-old woman, have a child? 18 To God Abraham said, “If only you would accept Ishmael!”

19 But God said, “No, your wife Sarah will give birth to a son for you, and you will name him Isaac.[d] I will set up my covenant with him and with his descendants after him as an enduring covenant. 20 As for Ishmael, I’ve heard your request. I will bless him and make him fertile and give him many, many descendants. He will be the ancestor of twelve tribal leaders, and I will make a great nation of him. 21 But I will set up my covenant with Isaac, who will be born to Sarah at this time next year.” 22 When God finished speaking to him, God ascended, leaving Abraham alone.

23 Abraham took his son Ishmael, all those born in his household, and all those purchased with his silver—that is, every male in Abraham’s household—and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that same day, just as God had told him to do. 24 Abraham was 99 years old when he circumcised the flesh of his foreskin, 25 and his son Ishmael was 13 years old when the flesh of his foreskin was circumcised. 26 That same day Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised. 27 All the men of his household, those born in his household and those purchased with silver from foreigners, were circumcised with him.

Clearly the Covenant is long lasting, but it has conditions that must be met in every generation.

A General Princlipe from God's side:

Numbers 23:19
Easy-to-Read Version
19 God is not a man;
he will not lie.
God is not a human being;
his decisions will not change.
If he says he will do something,
then he will do it.
If he makes a promise,
then he will do what he promised.

Romans 2:29
A true Jew is one who is a Jew inside. True circumcision is done in the heart. It is done by the Spirit, not by the written law. And anyone who is circumcised in the heart by the Spirit gets praise from God, not from people.

I am not happy that people were cut out of the tree to make room for me .

"It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory — even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? As he says in Hosea:

“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;
and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”

and,

“In the very place where it was said to them,
‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”

Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved."

No, sorry, that is true, Israel is the nation that was born in a day. Israel is not in captivity today and people have come home to that nation from around the world, and they are still coming. God is beginning to gather Jews from around the world back to Israel.
How many Jewish people in Isael worships Jessus? How many practice Judaism?

I pointed out from the Genesis text concerning the covenant with Abraham that it does in fact require faith, obedence and good works --- that is worshipping God and coming to Jesus.

Today, only two percent of Israel is Christian and most who claim to follow a Jewish Religion are not faithful to God.

Thus they are not today, included in Abraham's Covenant.

It is really that simple.. I also, posted a text that shows that true Israel are those who are spiriutally circumcized heart.

So, it is about one's heart, not how many Jewish people are in the land of Israel.

I also, posted from Jewish Encylopedia to that effect too.

Romans 11
Easy-to-Read Version
God Has Not Forgotten His People
11 So I ask, “Did God force his people to leave him?” Of course not. I myself am an Israelite. I am from the family of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God chose the Israelites to be his people before they were born. And he did not force them to leave. Surely you know what the Scriptures say about Elijah. The Scriptures tell about Elijah praying to God against the people of Israel. He said, 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and destroyed your altars. I am the only prophet still living, and they are trying to kill me now.”[a] 4 But what answer did God give to Elijah? God said, “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have never given worship to Baal.”

5 It is the same now. God has chosen a few people by his grace. 6 And if he chose them by grace, then it is not what they have done that made them his people. If they could be made his people by what they did, his gift of grace would not really be a gift.

7 So this is what has happened: The people of Israel wanted God’s blessing, but they did not all get it. The people he chose did get his blessing, but the others became hard and refused to listen to him. 8 As the Scriptures say,

“God caused the people to fall asleep.”

“God closed their eyes so that they could not see,
and he closed their ears so that they could not hear.
This continues until now.”

9 And David says,

“Let those people be caught and trapped at their own feasts.
Let them fall and be punished.
10 Let their eyes be closed so that they cannot see.
And let them be troubled forever.”

11 So I ask: When the Jews fell, did that fall destroy them? No! But their mistake brought salvation to those who are not Jews. The purpose of this was to make the Jews jealous. 12 Their mistake brought rich blessings to the world. And what they lost brought rich blessings to the non-Jewish people. So surely the world will get much richer blessings when enough Jews become the kind of people God wants.

13 Now I am speaking to you people who are not Jews. I am an apostle to the non-Jewish people. So while I have that work, I will do the best I can. 14 I hope I can make my own people jealous. That way, maybe I can help some of them to be saved. 15 God turned away from the Jews. When that happened, he became friends with the other people in the world. So when he accepts the Jews, it will be like bringing people to life after death. 16 If the first piece of bread is offered to God, then the whole loaf is made holy. If the roots of a tree are holy, the tree’s branches are holy too.

17 It is as if some of the branches from an olive tree have been broken off, and the branch of a wild olive tree has been joined to that first tree. If you are not a Jew, you are the same as that wild branch, and you now share the strength and life of the first tree. 18 But don’t act as if you are better than those branches that were broken off. You have no reason to be proud of yourself, because you don’t give life to the root. The root gives life to you. 19 You might say, “Branches were broken off so that I could be joined to their tree.” 20 That is true. But those branches were broken off because they did not believe. And you continue to be part of the tree only because you believe. Don’t be proud, but be afraid. 21 If God did not let the natural branches of that tree stay, he will not let you stay if you stop believing.

22 So you see that God is kind, but he can also be very strict. He punishes those who stop following him. But he is kind to you, if you continue trusting in his kindness. If you don’t continue depending on him, you will be cut off from the tree. 23 And if the Jews will believe in God again, he will accept them back. He is able to put them back where they were. 24 It is not natural for a wild branch to become part of a good tree. But you non-Jewish people are like a branch cut from a wild olive tree. And you were joined to a good olive tree. But those Jews are like a branch that grew from the good tree. So surely they can be joined to their own tree again.

25 I want you to understand this secret truth, brothers and sisters. This truth will help you understand that you don’t know everything. The truth is this: Part of Israel has been made stubborn, but that will change when enough non-Jewish people have come to God. 26 And that is how all Israel will be saved. The Scriptures say,

“The Savior will come from Zion;
he will take away all evil from the family of Jacob.
27 And I will make this agreement with those people
when I take away their sins.”

28 The Jews refuse to accept the Good News, so they are God’s enemies. This has happened to help you who are not Jews. But they are still God’s chosen people, and he loves them because of the promises he made to their ancestors. 29 God never changes his mind about the people he calls. He never decides to take back the blessings he has given them. 30 At one time you refused to obey God. But now you have received mercy, because the Jews refused to obey. 31 And now they are the ones who refuse to obey, because God showed mercy to you. But this happened so that they can also receive mercy from him. 32 All people have refused to obey God. And he has put them all together as people who don’t obey him so that he can show mercy to everyone.

Praise to God
33 Yes, God’s riches are very great! His wisdom and knowledge have no end! No one can explain what God decides. No one can understand his ways. 34 As the Scriptures say,

“Who can know what is on the Lord’s mind?
Who is able to give him advice?”

35 “Who has ever given God anything?
God owes nothing to anyone.”

36 Yes, God made all things. And everything continues through him and for him. To God be the glory forever! Amen.

I really think that most arguments happen here at CC because people are not reading responses but are simply responding with their POV. Can you print out what Romans 11 says?
Romans 11 is part of a
Message it’s pre requisite is the chapters before can you first acknowledge what Romans 9 says about being born of Israel In the flesh ?

“Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God:

but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭9:6-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Can you acknowledge that part first

that’s my point of anyone rejects Christ it proves they are not his people . He came to Israel first because he is the fulfillment of all God promised them

even today if they convert to Christianity they are proven to be his people just as any gentile.

near the end I personally believe there will be a mass conversion when many Jews will have their eyes opened and realize Christ is thier messiah and convert and be saved but that part is just what I gather from some scripture

untimately anyone who accepts the gospel Jew or gentile belongs to God and is his elect people.

But your thread was about the chosen, we are not the chosen, the Jews are.
The Jews were designated God's chosen people ONLY because they were the only nation the recognized God as the true God. God accepted any gentile who would accept the true God, and they then were part of the chosen. God does not play favorites.

When we receive Jesus we become chosen people. John 1:12 "
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

The chosen people are still the Jews. And if you look at their history you'd hardly call them "favorites". God held them to a higher standard and they have been soundly punished for the times they failed. They are still chosen and God still has a special destiny for them to fill.
