At 4:17 tomorrow morning will have full visibility of the eclipse. I've been reading about the prophecy of the four blood moons and i just want to hear views from other CC members. I have set my alarm so I can witness this event.

I started a thread about John Hagee and his four blood moons book. There are a number of other threads about the moons. The subject has been done to death. My own view is that it doesn't represent anything, biblical at all. It is a natural occurrence that can be predicted by Astronomers. Some people on site agree with this and others do not. Opinion depends on how you interpret the last days. I will be looking for it tomorrow because the next one wont be until 2035 and I will probably not be around to see it.

Why Red?

The reason why the Moon takes on a reddish color during totality is a phenomenon called Rayleigh scattering. It is the same mechanism responsible for causing colorful sunrises and sunsets and the sky to look blue.
Colorful Sunlight

We all know from our school science textbooks that even though sunlight may look white to human eyes, it is actually composed of different colors. These colors are visible through a prism or in a rainbow. Colors towards the red spectrum have longer wavelengths and lower frequencies compared to colors towards the violet spectrum which have shorter wavelengths and higher frequencies.
Earth's Atmosphere

The next piece in the puzzle of why the sky looks blue and a totally eclipsed Moon turns red is the Earth's atmosphere. The atmosphere is about 300 miles (480 kilometers) thick and is made up of different gases, water droplets and dust particles.
When sunlight entering the Earth's atmosphere strikes the particles that are smaller than the light's wavelength, it gets scattered. Not all colors in the light spectrum, however, get equally scattered. Colors with shorter wavelengths, for example those towards the violet spectrum, are scattered more strongly than those with longer wavelengths like red and orange, which pass through the atmosphere. This light then gets bent or refracted back to the surface of the Moon and gives it the reddish-orange glow that total lunar eclipses are famous for.

Boggus, poppycock,...the inventor of this scheme states we should not have to preach the Gospel to the Jews, for they are saved just because they are a Jew and God has a separate plan for them...I would not believe anything past the lips of John Hagee.

May I remind you Mr. Hagee, that Jesus called the Jewish religious leaders son's of the devil!!! And that first fruits of Christ (1st Christians) were all Jewish!

I did not even bother looking at that thread, Sorry.
I figured it was a thread supporting it, and an so sick of those things.

These "the lord will return this day, That day, blah blah blah" are getting nuts, and what is worse is people actually fall for these con artists.

It drives me crazy, when Jesus said there will be no sign, it will come as a thief, About the only signs he gave were some birth pangs, (wars, famines, disease, natural disasters,) Which we can see coming, But still not know the hour..

Then we take into account particular world events which must take place BEFORE all these things like blood moons or whatever take place.

No one who is biblically sound should fall for these things. It just goes to show, we have taken the study of Gods word and made it a secondary function which is ok to do. but not that important.

I'm kind of looking forward to tomorrow morning at 2:30, or so. God gives us a lot of neat things to experience, and this is just one more.

God gave the 4 reasons for the Sun, Moon and Stars in Genesis and a natural occurrence was not one of the 4 listed.......and an honest evaluation of the word reveals that God is in control of everything......

Yeah....it will come as a thief to those who are in darkness.....read down a few more verses as I am as equally sick of the thief in the night statement being misapplied while the rest of the chapter is overlooked and swept under the rug......BUT BRETHERN YOU ARE NOT IN DARKNESS THAT THAT DAY SHOULD OVERTAKE YOU AS A THIEF! ;)

They day will not overtake me as a thief, Because I am prepared. (not because I will know what day it is) It does nt matter what day it comes, If I am here on earth or not. I am prepaired. because i am not in darkness

You Didn't read it! Oh my hurt and wounded heart! Anyway the main point I make is how can John Hagee write and preach
about Moons and the second coming and have his church gather for a day of Fun and Games advertised on his web site for OCTOBER!!

The earth was supposed to end 57 times just in my lifetime. I look forward to it not ending tomorrow either, so we can get rid of this stupid "prophesy" too. lol

Another misnomer...it is not the end of the world, but rather the end of the age ;) That would be 57 times and one HAH

Because Hagee is an inconsistent hack who seems to be hedging his bets and is rather public about doing so.

Those who know God do not need to fear. For our home is not of this earth.

And we know this earth will not end for 1007 years (at least) because we still have 1007 years of prophesy to make it through.

So all of the, "we will destroy the earth" stuff is just nuts, Jesus promised, before man gets to that point, where all life will be destroyed, he will return.
