Thank you! I remember there were two or three other Bobs on the same show, Bob Christopher was one of them. :)

You're welcome!

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, and Richard Peifer were on staff with People to People Ministries with Bob George. They have changed the ministry name after Bob George's departure - it's now BasicGospel.net. You'll find very similar teaching there with a radio archive also available.

If you enjoy all those guys, you'll REALLY enjoy Andrew Farley :). His website is AndrewFarleyLive.com. He has a really, really good series page as well as his weekly message archives.

Grace and peace to you!

Oh, there are plenty. Here are just a few...

Non-fiction:

Surprised by the Holy Spirit by Edgar Meyer
Faith of Our Fathers: God in Ancient China
by Chan Kei Thong and Charlene L. Fu
Heaven by Randy Alcorn
The Genesis Account: A theological, historical and scientific commentary on Genesis 1-11
by Dr. Jonathan Sarfati (I haven't quite finished this book just yet, but it's proving to be brilliant)

Fiction:
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
The Oath by Frank Peretti
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

What Christian Book Had The Biggest Impact On Your Life?
A real hard question to answer, as there have been quite a few books, but one that comes to mind is "The Incarnation" by Rev E H Gifford, it deals with Phil 2v5-11.

Another book was "Divine Healing of the Body" by J Sidlow Baxter

"God's Strategy in Human History" by Paul Marston & Roger Forster

"The Hope of Christ's Second Coming" by Samuel P Tregelles

And so forth...

"George Mueller: Young Rebel in Bristol" and "Pilgrim's Progress" when I was middle/high school age.

"Kingdom of the Cults" by Walter Martin as a young adult.

As an older adult:

"Classic Christianity: Life's Too Short to Miss the Real Thing",
"Faith That Pleases God: You Don't Need to Strive for What You Already Have" both by Bob George;
"The Naked Gospel: The Truth You May Never Hear in Church" by Andrew Farley;
"The Gospel in 20 Questions" and
"The Hyper-Grace Gospel: A Response to Michael Brown and Those Opposed to the Modern Grace Message" both by Paul Ellis

As an older adult, those titles didn't have so much as an impact on me as they were a confirmation of what God had been showing me through the Scriptures regarding His wonderful Gospel.

It really is all about Jesus \o/.

What He came to do
What that actually accomplished, and

I enjoy Paul Ellis.

Aside from the Bible of course! :)
For me, it was Classic Christianity by Bob George. It helped me to steer clear of legalism and gave me a better understanding of the grace of God.

Outside of the Bible, I used to enjoy reading Bible introductions. They are fascinating because they tell you about how the Bible came to be. I also used to enjoy reading Christian (New Testament) apocrypha, until I discovered there was so much of it.

That's a tough one. I don't know that much about them, as I've never read the books, nor could sit through a whole movie about them.

My advice would be to do a web search on the subject, pray about it, and make an informed decision for yourself.

"The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" books were written by a strong Christian called J.R.R. Tolkien. Tolkien definitely doesn't encourage evil, but it's a part of the story of good and evil. In fact, he spent far more time describing nature and its beauty than even important battle scenes, because he (along with C.S. Lewis) experienced life in the trenches in World War One. Holy Spirit later used Tolkien to lead C.S. Lewis to Christ.

Budman, you should read "The Genesis Account" by Dr. Jonathan Sarfati of Creation Ministries International. It's excellent!

I love Sarfati's books, (my two faves being "Refuting Evolution" Vols 1 & 2), but I have not read that one. I'll look it up. :)

Good stuff, brother! I haven't read those two but I thought "Refuting Compromise" was very good and "The Genesis Account" is one of the best books I've ever read. It's Sarfati's latest book and was only published in late June. I'm looking forward to reading "Christianity for Skeptics" in the near future (of course I'm not a skeptic, but some of my friends are). Get to it!

Andrew Muuray is, in my opinion, one of, if not the best, Christian authors since the first century A.D. :)

Have you ever read Michael Brown's book "Hyper Grace: Exposing The Dangers of the Modern (Hyper) Grace Message"? I have. He makes a lot of good points in it. Please keep in mind that he is not attacking the orthodox view of grace widely accepted by most modern denominations. Rather, he is refering to what is now commonly being referred to as "hyper grace" which some proponents of the Hyper Grace message would argue that once saved, a person need not repent ever again.

However, if you truly understand Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, you will realize that repentence is not merely confessing your sins. Rather, repentence is a daily lifestyle of humility (acknowledging one's sin) and complete reliance on God (turning away from one's sin). It's no wonder that many Hyper grace teachers insist that anything Jesus taught before his crucifixion and ressurection was meant for the Jew only and should be ignored by New Testament believers. They don't understand our Savior's own teachings.

The modern Hyper grace message is borderline heresy. Especially to those who have a working knowledge of doctrine & theology in a historical context. :)
