Oh, I'm sorry. I misunderstood your question and now realize that I don't quite understand it.
No need to apologise brother.

If I'm totally honest I'm thinking the verses you quoted do not equate to verses in the OP.

It states about Gods fury on people.

You say about Gods refining fire.
Which is true.

Many verses in the Bible concerning the refining fire of God to his people.

I like this one

Zechariah 13:9
9 I will bring the one-third through the fire,
Will refine them as silver is refined,
And test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name,
And I will answer them.
I will say, ‘This is My people’;
And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ ”

No fury here.

We know that we are not judged for salvation by our works, our salvation comes from our faith.
Salvation comes from 'our faith'? That would be a very wobbly foundation...

Jonah 2:9 (KJV) But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

What is this passage talking about exactly? Does this process involve literal fire or is this figurative language?

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 (KJV)
10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
it’s important to know the matter he’s addressing . The church was arguing about which apostle was better to follow and they had each chosen one Paul , another Peter , another claimed to be of Christ ect he’s talking about workers in ministry

he’s essentially saying whether I or Apollos doesn’t matter well each receive our reward based on how we behold upon the only foundation which is Christ.

I have planted,

Apollos watered;

but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour

For we are labourers together with God:

ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.

But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:6-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he is telling the teachers to take heed how they build upon Paul’s doctrine the gospel they had received from God was enough to save them but if they started to stray and teach falsely thier work would be exposed

notice the dostinction between the authors in scripture like Paul and Peter , Apollos and the church ? We see this he says ….and you are that he says . Paul’s is talking about the laborers in the early church

“Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:13-

Gods word is like a holy fire , it puts a sinner to the test like a refiners fire it will burn up the chaff in our hearts if we let it in and believe the nt word I’ll circumcise the heart or in other words refine the person as silver in a fire that purifies the imperfections in the metal and save us.

before a metal like silver is pure and made into something beautiful , it is put into a refiners fire and out through a process that redeems all
Of the precious metals from the earth and purifies it so it is worthy for adornment and use the fire that offers salvation is here

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when we decide to start operating in e things Jesus taught it’s like stepping into a refiners fire and is very uncomfortable at times but it saves sinners souls if they persevere

I hope you are able to also think of the rewards we are promised for works that increase the role of God in people's lives.
1 Corinthians 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

When I think of the abundant grace which God bestows upon us ... the blessings we enjoy in this life (even in the midst of trials we endure because we are never alone) ... the love, care, and concern that each brother and sister in Christ has for one another ... and then to think that there will be rewards in addition to all the goodness of God we enjoy ...:cool::cool:

Psalm 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

The fire, I believe is figurative. But let's first remember that Paul was taught by the risen Jesus.

Paul is warning all who claim to be followers of Jesus to live the Christian life as Jesus lived: with a pure heart. The heart reveals what truly motivates you to do what you do and say what you say.

Our reward by God's grace through our faith in Jesus is eternal life. We won't receive that reward if our faith is pretentious, regardless of what we do in Jesus's name. As Jesus said: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23.

If we "take heed", as Paul warns, and live our Christian life as Jesus commanded, i.e., with love, then what we do to honor and glorify the Lord is eternal, as in gold, silver, and precious stones. Anything we do that does not pass the love test is worthless. As Jesus said: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matthew 6:19-21.

Blessings.

What you are saying here comes from what James says.
How does this relate to what Paul says in the verses quoted in the OP?
When I eceive an alert, I reply to it.

I"m not sure what this means, but it makes me smile. :D
Due to my being all but blind, I do not use my eyes a lot, because I must use various tools to "see." Using enlargements plus electornic and manual magnifying devies hurts the eyes and gives a headach.

This wonderful blessing of interaaction with others of the faith sends alerts to our mail if we have that particular option in motion, and when I receive an alert or notification of someone replying or adding to a thread I have posted in, I simple read it in the above fashion, then I reply to it.

As regarding people changing the OPs, this is childish to prtest agains when a eprson is replying to the post alert sent. Everything evolves to some extent excepting that tstupid theory of Darwin.

Wow! That is quite a story about your eyes. I can only imagine . . . and you give us reason to be thankful. And I am thankful that you would share what you meant by what you wrote.

Peace to you! :)

Since the onset of Wet Macular Degeneration in the early 1990s I have been blessed to bbe able to thank our Father for it because He has given another manner of observing just about everything.
Everything is a step closer to Him. Close your eyes on occasion and see with your heart. I believe all who love the Lord see thus, but it is a wonderful experience to augment the blessing by closing the eyes. All blessings..j

Our reward of eternal life through our faith is the core of Christianity, it is foremost and first. But that is not the rewards this passage is speaking of, and we need to hear the words of the Lord. This passage is speaking of the rewards of our works that are of God, that indure through the fire of the Lord. Our work is tested to be for the Lord or against it.

You can be saved, have eternal life, but have no work for the Lord and have no other reward except eternal life. We are to work for the Lord, as these verses tell us.

Yes, and what we do for the Lord must be with a pure motive, not forced, and not done to be recognized and receive praise from men. Otherwise, if we think we are earning points by what we do, that which we do is worthless, like wood, hay, and stubble.

So what I am getting so far is that 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 is basically about the works we do in the name of Jesus. On judgment day, our works will be examined and whatever work was not to the glory of Jesus will be destroyed and whatever work brought Jesus glory will be rewarded.

Also, this is not about the gift of eternal life or losing salvation. We are still saved, but the additional rewards we could have received will be great or fewer depending on what we did.

Sound about right?

I'm not sure if you have explored this option, but you might find text-to-speech useful. It reads the text out loud to you so you can hear it instead. Or maybe speech-to-text, where you just speak into a microphone and it transcribes your words into text.

Neh 8:7-8 . .The Levites-Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub,
Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan and Pelaiah
instructed the people in the Law while the people were standing there. They
read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the
meaning so that the people could understand what was being read.

That passage from the Old Testament is handy for illustrating the fact that
anybody can parrot the Bible, but not just anybody can explain it.

According to Eph 4:11 and 1Cor 12:29, Jesus' church has been endowed
with a limited number of folk with the God-given ability to teach the Bible.
Those lacking that God-given ability would be wise to keep their mouths
shut.

Jas 3:1 . . Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers,
because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

Most people cannot relate to Paul when he quoted the Lord saying "my Grace is sufficient for you." But you understand . . . And you realize the Incredible value of suffering, while most christians believe that we are supposed to have wonderful, fantastic earthly lives. But you understand that it is suffering that brings meaning to this life. I am proud to "know" you. You are very lucky my friend!
