I'm starting to wonder a bit what happens in life as you age. Like I'm only 37 now and already my whole life is different in a lot of ways.

I hate to say it but I've lost so much passion and drive for almost everything in life. Things I use to die for, that meant the world to me, no longer excite me at all. Like I use to love a couple sports, now they just seem like work.

I've always want to find true love, but never really found that. That too seems great but it seems like it would be a lot of work, but still open to it, but I'm not at all holding my breath about finding it anymore.

Like I hate complaining, I don't want to come on here and do that. But I'm just wondering if this is how life goes when people get older. They stop caring and enjoying life. Nothings fun, exciting or interesting anymore because they've been there and done it so many times that now the same things are boring.

What does God wants for people when the star to get older? Seems like life almost becomes more about survival than it does enjoyment, fulfillment, love or happiness. Just wondering what's going on and is this how things are suppose to go?

I found this to be true in my own life too at one time, till I got an answer from Him as to what was going
on.

And basically you will have to have that answer come from Him also, .........but briefly for me, as our focus becomes more and more on Him, we die.

Things of this world loose their sparkle in the light of His Love. At least it was that way for me, but at first I didn't really know that.

When we become born again, what has happened isn't real clear at first, but as we walk with Him more and more, He becomes everything to us.

Not only that but our Life NOW is HID in Him, and sometimes I don't think we really grab hold of that.

That's why we feel lost at times, what used to be our life, is Now His in Him, now we must find that New Life, I believe God causes us to feel this, 1) because it is, 2) because it causes a hunger in us, that cannot be filled anymore with things that we once new.

Hope this helps
Blessings

I can relate on the "true love" thing.... I can remember being 16 or so, and thinking that by the time I was 21 I would be married and have a kid or two. I was 38 before I finally got married. LOL

Interests in life will change. Things you used to be into will fade away, and new things will come along. Whether we're young or old, God wants us to be blessed and happy. Blessed in life, blessed in our marriage, happy in our jobs, happy in our interests. Sometimes as we age we have to put forth a little effort to keep our lives fulfilling and interesting. If we sit and stew about how dull and miserable we are, we'll be... dull and miserable.

"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." Prov 23:7.

God bless, and I sincerely hope you can keep your life exciting.

Personally I love 2 cor.4:16
We do not lose heart, because our inner being is renewed each day even though our body is being destroyed at the same tme.
Simply, the body weakens but Jesus's Spirit in us grows stronger and more alive. :)
I recomend reading all chater 4 though, as there is alot of good word in it. :)

Hang in there canadian36, the best is yet to come in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh! :):):)

God bless

2knowhim.... thanks that was a great answer. Yes I see where you're coming from.

Shroom.... funny that's my all time favorite verse.

Pickles.... well I know he's doing some massive changes in my life right now. I need a break though, I can't take it anymore even though I've benefited tremendously through maturity and understanding of a lot of things. I just cant take the stress anymore.

But I guess my challenge is also I feel like I have so many huge responsibilities, problems and burdens bogging me down. Like how can anyone enjoy life or even find anything new to do or get excited about when you feel as if you have a cloud over your head. I'm suppose to find out in May if one major legal issue is over or not. If not, I honestly don't want to even think in that direction or I'll go nuts. I'm kinda glad I have this forum to at least talk about some of this otherwise I'm not sure what I'd do.

Sometimes all one can do is to just keep going, trusting the rest to God.
Because the truth is, that is what we are asked to do, walk in faith.
Jesus will show you His rest and bring it in you, for in Jesus, we do find the rest we so deparately seek.

Keep the faith
God bless

I think your fine. Its not you, its the world. The lustre was always just
an appeal to the flesh anyway. Ive been there, those are precious moments
when we evaluate everything. Whats of value and whats not.

Youll get through it ....youll see.
We have a blessed hope.

21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

In the meantime have some fresh jerky its yummy :)

I would disqualify myself from answering to this post due to a confilict of interest regarding my own age, however I am blessed to have answered this question for a lady my age when I was quite young.
All we need do is believe in Him Who He sent. Now we can do other things, but this in itself is works. We can pray; this too is works. Worship is works. Visiting others who are in need is works, and believe it or not, to simply wait patiently on the Lord is works. Any combination of the above or any single passion for the Lord will do. After all, the large part of our works has been done for us, Jesus.
As for the oil in your lamp, I pray with you the Lord, God Almighty, replenish your lamp and keep it full so you shine brightly when others have no light by which to find their own way, in Jesus Christ's name, amen.

Canadian36, keep the faith, continue to seek Jesus.
You will soon know the delight and joy that is His gift to you by grace.
For Jesus delights in you, and this joy is with you because of Him. :)
