I've had numerous conversations with people over the years who have stated "they are believers," "they are Christians," yet turn out to be make believers, "nominal" Christians. Such people have even stated they believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that His death, burial and resurrection "happened," yet these people ended up demonstrating that they were NOT trusting in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation, but were instead trusting in works for salvation. Just look at all the false religions and cults in the world that "claim" to be Christian. This should not come as a shock to you.
How are they not demostrating their trust in Jesus?

If you trust in free will to save you it cannot. If you trust in Christ to save you, he will. But unless he first saves you, you cannot trust in the right Christ among many.
Cant trust in Christ without a choice. Oh guess your reverting to the election idea. Well we as believers was predestined to disagree lol.

They come out and state that salvation is by faith and works. Just look at all the false religions and cults in the world that proclaim to be "Christian," yet pervert the gospel. Are you surprised by this?

Can't trust in the right Christ by choice. It's beyond your discernment as a sinner.

Basically the doctrines eliminate free will. Just search the threads linked to Calvinism and you will get the idea.
So it contradicts someone who say he do not what to believed in Jesus anymore. And insist that when you believed you will remain believers.

How can person Believe in Jesus? What does it mean to believe in Christ?

Belief is an indwelling response to recieved information.

No you can not choose what you believe without willfully being ignorant while knowong the truth only to later convince yourself of a lie you made to yourself.

If I told you fire was cold, you would not believe me because the information you have previously recieved has shown you differently.

If you wanted to believe you can fly to the moon.... you would know better....

To believe IN Christ would be to place your trust, confidence, fidelity and belief in HIM as YOUR savior.

4102. pistis
Strong's Concordance
pistis: faith, faithfulness
Original Word: πίστις, εως, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: pistis
Phonetic Spelling: (pis'-tis)
Definition: faith, faithfulness
Usage: faith, belief, trust, confidence; fidelity, faithfulness.
HELPS Word-studies
4102 pístis (from 3982/peithô, "persuade, be persuaded") – properly, persuasion (be persuaded, come to trust); faith.

I know I have eternal life, and I have seen Gods works in me. He is no less real than the heat of fire to me. No I can not unknow my Father. It is impossible. No new information will suggest He failed me because I know He works in ways beyond my understanding. If my understanding for some reason was lost, my faith, belief, trust, confidence would still remain. (because I do indeed BELIEVE of Christ and in Christ)

I believed salvation is by grace of God through faith.
But that is one of the reason of this topic, how do you show you believed?

So when uou believe. GOD will forced that gift to you even you do not like it anymore?
When one believes, it means one is accepting the gift of the final Adam. So its not forced in the first place.

But yes, once you accept that gift from the final Adam, you cannot lose it thru any action of yours. That is the how much more....

Example.
If a jew believes in Christ then after that the temple was rebuilt and go back to sacrificing for sin offering. Did he atop believing in the Father?

If a man believes in Christ as his savior, he would know there is no more sacrifice for willful sin.

If he offers his works as his payment for sin, he believes in his works.

Fidelity is part of a saving faith as well...loyalty...

we are of those who BELIEVE unto salvation

him "going back" would either prove

His belief trust and confidence were never really in Christ

or it would be going against his faith and he wouldnt be doing that as an offering for sin but.... maybe peep pressure or fear?

like when peter denied Jesus multiple times...

he still believed in Christ

If you are quoting that Hebrews passage, then Paul's epistles won't apply since Hebrews is doctrine for the tribulation age.

During the time of Jacob's trouble, the grace dispensation will be over and the Jews will once again need works as well, to be saved at the end. (Rev 14:12)

Thats the first. Hebrews for tribulation.
Example.
Heb 9:28 KJV So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

I believe that salvation is by grace through faith and not by works. (Ephesians 2:8,9) Believers show their faith by their works (James 2:14-18) but we are still not saved by works.

Who knows, you're the writer and watcher of this story.

Lol, if that man was doing those sinful works (offering sacrifice for other sins)all we know his faith does not appear to be in Christ.

Wether or not it ever "was" is between he and God.

Works provide nothing more than evidence and only before man where someones places their faith in.

So the question is just.... not fruitful...

One man may seem before us based on his works that he is loving and genuine and helpful and based on his words he may appear to know the truth. That does not mean God made that person new.

Another may demonstrate a moment of weakness and say something or so something against their faith, like when peter denied Jesus.

Of course those he denied Jesus in front of would call peter an unbeliever, but God knowing the heart He put in peter and seeing past the sin of the flesh knew peter believed in Jesus.
