I was testing the waters so to speak. It appears there has been a civilized discussion based around the topic instead of people demonizing my words.
Wow! Really? So this wan't demonizing my words?

I know what the Bible says about the subject. It was a rhetorical question. Do not mince words with me and make up something that is not true.
I like your balancing scales! They slant to fit what you want easily. And that was one of the lesser uncivilized remarks on this thread.

Once again, AuntieAnt was right.

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. Lev 18:22 RSV

I don't think the Vatican actually condoned it. The pope just neglected to let the world know it's a sin, when he had the opportunity. I thought it was a poor choice on his part, since homosexuality, and the world's acceptance of it, seems to be increasing by leaps and bounds.
These are the observations that have been considered.

A guy who got set free from homosexuality said it was Baal Peor worship.

pornography is Baal-Peor/satan worship Archives - Gen3x

Funny you should bring this up. I was just reading about this the other day:TEMPLE OF BAAL TO GO UP IN NEW YORK AND LONDON
Visitors next month to Times Square in New York or Leicester Square in London are in for a culture shock – a life-size reproduction of the Temple of Baal.

Needless to say, the exhibition of a symbol of paganism, child sacrifice and ritual prostitution – well-known to readers of the Bible – has raised concerns.
The display, however is part of World Heritage Week and is meant by organizers from the Institute of Digital Archaeology as a statement of “defiance” against ISIS, the Islamic terror group, that destroyed the Temple of Baal in Palmyra, Syria, in August 2015.
The original structure, dedicated to the god Bel, or Baal, in A.D. 32 – approximately the time of the crucifixion of Jesus – stood nearly 2,000 years before ISIS leveled the site along with many others. Prior to the current war in Syria, the ancient site had over 150,000 visitors a year.
Using a database of thousands of images, the Institute for Digital Archaeology is creating a full-sized, 50-foot tall, 3D-printed replica of the entrance arch to the temple. The work is being done in China. Only the replica of the arch is being displayed.
The Bible’s Old Testament frequently condemns the worship of false idols, with Baal – which means “Lord” – most often singled out. Baal worship, common in the biblical Levant, spread across the Mediterranean, becoming dominant in North Africa’s Carthage, where archaeologists have excavated an extensive cemetery with remains of sacrificed children. The name of the famous Carthaginian leader, Hannibal, is made up in part of the name “Baal.”
Find out what you’ve been missing. Get “Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You’ve Never Been Told.” personally autographed by the author.
Michael Snyder, writing on the blog “End of the American Dream,” alerted his readers to the shocking idea of a pagan temple being erected in Times Square, saying “Most non-religious Americans don’t understand who Baal was, nor do they really care. But the truth is that many of the elements of ancient Baal worship are being mirrored in our society in 2016.
“So considering the child sacrifice and sexual immorality that we are engaged in today, perhaps it is only natural for us to have a Temple of Baal in Times Square.
In a 2008 article, WND columnist Matt Barber explained some of the elements of Baal worship.
“The principal pillars of Baalism were child sacrifice, sexual immorality (both heterosexual and homosexual) and pantheism (reverence of creation over the Creator).
“Ritualistic Baal worship, in sum, looked a little like this: Adults would gather around the altar of Baal. Infants would then be burned alive as a sacrificial offering to the deity. Amid horrific screams and the stench of charred human flesh, congregants – men and women alike – would engage in bisexual orgies. The ritual of convenience was intended to produce economic prosperity by prompting Baal to bring rain for the fertility of “mother earth.”
“The natural consequences of such behavior – pregnancy and childbirth – and the associated financial burdens of “unplanned parenthood” were easily offset. One could either choose to engage in homosexual conduct or – with child sacrifice available on demand – could simply take part in another fertility ceremony to ‘terminate’ the unwanted child.”
Geoffrey Grider, writing in “Now the End Begins,” said bringing the Temple of Baal to New York City was quite fitting.
“In 2016, we have become a nation that does not want God, does not want His Book, and most importantly has locked His Son Jesus Christ outside the doors of the professing Christian church. We have become greedy, selfie-centered, powerless wanderers, not realizing that the judgement of God has already fallen down upon us.
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)
“Many are saying that recreating the Temple of Baal in New York and London will ‘open a portal’ to sinister forces, and that the planets will be aligned in such a way during that time as to portend dark things. Now I don’t know about that, I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens but I do know this. For the last 8 years as a nation we have begged God to leave us alone and to remove Himself from our affairs.
“He has.”
Eight years ago, Barber echoed the same sentiments.
“Modern liberalism deviates little from its ancient predecessor. While its macabre rituals have been sanitized with flowery and euphemistic terms of art, its core tenets and practices remain eerily similar. The worship of “fertility” has been replaced with worship of “reproductive freedom” or “choice.” Child sacrifice via burnt offering has been updated, ever so slightly, to become child sacrifice by way of abortion. The ritualistic promotion, practice and celebration of both heterosexual and homosexual immorality and promiscuity have been carefully whitewashed – yet wholeheartedly embraced – by the cults of radical feminism, militant “gay rights” and “comprehensive sex education.” And, the pantheistic worship of “mother earth” has been substituted – in name only – for radical environmentalism.”

I would assert that I don't have to be quiet, if you don't have to, especially where truth is concerned, and such a comment is affirmation that, for some reason, somebody would like to suppress the truth in God's word. You also display much harmony with your user name, Spoonfulofsugar. Let me know when you've been appointed to the Gestapo, as the truth censor, until then, I don't feel the need to please anybody who would say shutup about what's in scripture and the real gospel. Pull the angel of light love card with somebody else, maybe go "love" some homosexuals into hell.
I remember when you were into harmonizing scripture, being sensitive and understanding, a genuinely sweet guy, always into bringing God's word to light om different situations. What happened to you in the last six months?

Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin." John 19:11
I'm surprised you pointed that out. I was about to start a thread about "are all sins equal"?
When It comes to GOD,Is one sin worst than others?

When It comes to man,Is one sin worst than others?
When It comes to GOD there Is no sin greater than others.

The law was still In effect until JESUS finished the work on the cross

Sounds like If you were answering the question, your answer would be

When It comes to GOD,Is one sin worst than others?YES

GOD said,If you break the law at any point you have offended It all.
Would you agree that,thats true.

If you do then we both know that scripture should interpret scripture and with that being said GOD Is not the author of confusion.
The law established the punishments for sin, based on how serious the sin was.

While aspects of the law are no longer applicable(e.g. - burnt/grain/peace offerings, being stone, etc.), the nature and seriousness of sins hasn't changed.

One sin can stink and another can really stink.

Is one sin worst than others? Worse. One sin can be worse than another. When you're talking about the nastiest of them all, then your talking about the worst. We might say blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the worst sin.

With dogs, it's all about the food. May be the same with cats?
My cat trained me with food. (Although, I could de-tree him simply by opening up a can -- any can. lol)

Whether one doesn't want to confront whether homosexuality is like telling a fib or stealing a pen from work, leave such value judgments aside, and read what the word of God states is the character of such sin. I haven't noticed this much said of any sin common to man, again, what man thinks worse or not immaterial. Here is what God says,

Romans 1:21-32 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

If you don't take into account this real treatise in scripture, and the bedfellows of such sin, the explicit spiritual state, then throw out the scripture. But therein is the truth, and it matters not one whit what silk hat men put on a pig, how much man philosophizes, it's only God's opinion that counts, not yours, not mine, if any such opinion is contrary to the Lord's. This much is not rocket science. If anybody finds the picture in this scripture pretty, I'm not getting that. This is not a worse sin or not issue, to determine what is politically correct and stuff into man's understandings: it's an issue of God's truth and huge, serious implications to the souls of people this scripture spells out.
There Is a scripture that says all sin offends GOD.

We are not under law but under grace.

I think a better question would be,can a person be a homosexual and still make It In to heaven?

I train cats using treats. I just babysat a cat last week and they couldn't get him used to his carrier. By the time he was returned home, he was going in & out of the carrier like it was a fun house. LOL

I must thank the vast majority of the people on here for keeping things real, and having a civilized, and might I say "real" discussion about the topic. Heavens Church operates within much tighter guidelines than the vatican's on earth. It is a shame that they have led the masses into submission of their Faith to what they consider will make them favourable by taking the crooked path.

Let it be done on earth as it is in Heaven, for thine is the Kingdom of the Power and the Glory.

Forever and ever.

AMEN.

Here's the kitty going into his carrier on his own with no fear. :)

My cat was cool with the carrier... until I picked it up. All the male cats in the neighborhood at night when just one female is in heat are quieter. And there was no difference with the paw action then the time my brother trapped a raccoon in a cage. (He wanted it for a pet. Instead, we spent the afternoon trying to figure out how to release it without it killing us. I solved the problem easily. I went home and let my brother figure it out. lol)

Richard, I haven't read all your posts so I'm not sure what is going on, but I can tell you that you have upset several wonderful, brothers and especially sisters in the Lord. You've been here THREE DAYS! Is THIS really the rep you want for yourself here? Check your heart bro, I'm not putting you down. Maybe some love is missing, EVEN IF you think your right.

Peace, Love, and Grace to you

Richard,
You haven't been here long enough to assume the "we" word in your posts that way.

Lynn is one of my favorite people, but when you poke her... expect to get yourself clawed a little bit.

Now, may I suggest you back up, and take another look at all her posts before you start calling her an instigator?

When It comes to GOD there Is no sin greater than others.
That's not what Jesus said, as per the quote given from John 19:11. Jesus also said, "Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin." Mark 3:28-29

Yes just repent and pray the sinner's prayer just before they die, but smarter is to do it sooner and find a real good church and get set free.
What I find evil is this new theology that tells them it's no sin and they are saved and don't have to repent.
