Yep. Because the goal is our relationship with our Father. Not perfection.

Just like an earthly father with his kids.
As long as you know that JESUS is perfect and we are not because of the weakness of our flesh.

JESUS said that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

We try but GOD will only accept perfection and only JESUS was/is perfect.
So trying to be obedient to the law means that a person is using their own will power not knowing why the words Moses spoke the words he spoke to the children of Israel under law. Did you know under the law Moses told them that they that did the things in the law should live under those things.Thats because you get no help from GOD under law.

Its all the person keeping the law or

its JESUS.

Right,GOD doesn't change, but under the law,it was designed for you to realize you couldn't be perfected on the inside and JESUS was the only one that could fulfill the law because GOD will only accept inward perfection which is in truth.

So once again its either all you in the law or its grace, and we have access to this grace that JESUS provided through faith.
Two different aspects of the law must be considered. Sad but true, most blanket the law into one category. Even most churches fail to define the law in detail that includes God's children. Then they have no alternative but to view the law as fulfilled by Christ and there's nothing left for us to consider, or react to concerning the law given to Moses. "It's all over and past, done away with, void, abolished etc". All the physical law of commandments contained in ordinances of temple worship with animals along with the enmity/division (related to the curtain torn asunder during the crucifixion) have been abolished according to Ephesians 2:14-16. So where do we find the laws concerning loving God and our neighbor as ourselves? Loving God's way are not temple ordinances, but are those laws that give definitive details and principles of how to love. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Look at the definition of love as an outline of headings and subheadings that define every detail of the two. Our love toward God can grow in leaps and bounds when considering all that Jesus fulfilled as we study the spiritual aspects of the Old Covenant temple ordnances. We will then respond with greater sincerity to love our neighbor as ourselves as we consider all of the law for our edification.

I don't think trying is good enough because He said this through Moses: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates" and "now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, 'who will ascend into heaven to get in and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?' nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, 'who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?' No, the word is very near you, it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it."
true, but remember that you have to have faith in the WORD.

And because the new covenant law of Christ (Mt 22:37-39; Gal 5:6) is written on my heart,
the Holy Spirit gives me to know what is love to others and what is not,
without a myriad of written details spelling out each possibility,
and likewise convicting me when I am unloving in any way.

You are making complicated what God has now made simple in our freedom in Christ.

Where did you get the info that is written on your heart?

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him? Isaiah 63:11

Oh the love I feel. Together again the tears have stopped fallin'. (smile)

150 Deuteronomy 26:14 - Not giving 2nd tithe while in state of impurity.
I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

151 Deuteronomy 26:14 - Not eating the 2nd tithe while in mourning.
I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

152 Deuteronomy 26:14 - Not giving the 2nd tithe for the dead.
I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

153 Leviticus 22:15 - Not eating untithed produce.
And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD;

154 Exodus 22:29 - Not changing the order of separating the various tithes.
Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.

155 Deuteronomy 23:21 - Delay not payment of offerings, freewill or obligatory.
When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

156 Exodus 23:15 - Go not to Temple on Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles without offering.
Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)

157 Numbers 30:2 - Not to break your word, even if without an oath.
If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

Deuteronomy 30:10-11
10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

1 John 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

The commandments we written. To what writing is John referring too if not the commandments of love?

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Are you talking about being obedient before or after you have received GOD Holy SPIRIT.

Old Covenant<------No Help

New Covenant<-----Grace

GOD is not going to be in a person that is not perfect,so you cannot be obedient with no help.A person can try to be obedient until they realize they need JESUS.

And Jesus is the Word of God and He said "man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
I don't want to sound disrespectful but I just want to be sure I got you right; are you saying that you are trying to be obedient to the old because GOD was speaking in the old and GOD was also speaking in the new?
You have the old covenent and the new covenant and the old was for a reason and the new is better, although GOD gave them both.
